Should the 17 year old who came 6th in sundays 5milly special keep the money?
If a kid was walking down the strip in Vegas, snuck into a casino, dropped $20 into a progressive slot and hit the jackpot, he would never and should never get the money. They wouldn't "hold it for him until he is 21" or some other b.s.. What kind of messeage would this send to other underagers' "Hey! Come illegally play here now and we'll pay you your winnings later as a birthday present!" LMFAO The casino would deem the jackpot hit (i.e. tournament cash) invalid and put the money back into the progressive for the next jackpot hit (i.e. put the money back into the prizepool and divide it ...

Bodog Discussion ITT
def this^^ (think he meant less than 15bbs) some extra levels need to be added to allow better play deep in the tourney. i think it has been finishing up before 9pm, a few extra levels won't hurt

Who's going where if the blackout happens?
Do we know if this bill contains anything making it a criminal offense to actually play poker online during this blackout period' Obviously Bodog and some other sites have no chance at a license so they should continue to operate as is. Will the bill allow punishment for companies still hosting U.S. players during the blackout AND punishment to U.S. players participating on their sites''' Or does it only punish the sites' I understand the purpose of the bill, but how will this give the government any more power than they have now to go after Bodog and such sites for allowing U.S. ...

Bodog Discussion Updates
[QUOTE=Nate Avenson;5894085] Please remember that Bodog used to have big guarantees and that the traffic did not meet those guarantees and so the guarantees were lower. They also used to have TLB's which were consistantly won by only a handful of mtt grinders. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I do remember when Bodog had bigger guarantees...the software was terrible and miles behind other sites, and withdrawals took ages to get to you (my 1st check from Bodog took just shy of 3 months). The ...

Bodog Discussion Updates
On a side note i do appreciate what you are doing, nate, and wish nothing more than for Bodog to prosper. I eargly look forward to the day when i can call bodog my home again. I hate these other sites but have really cant afford to play just bodog anymore...and with no synced breaks, its not practical to even add a few into my schedule

Bodog Discussion Updates
I think bodog is looking at everything wrong...syncing breaks and upping gaurantees will bring in a lot of full-time and part-time grinders. This means a lot more money in bodog accounts--->most poker players, with thier big rolls, love some sports betting--->a lot more rake from poker and more action in the sports book. A big part of the poker community is constantly checking in on bodog, myself included, waiting for them to get back to tournaments worth playing. Bodog just has to have the balls to up the tournies back to respectable gaurantees, sync breaks, an bring leaderboard back and ...

This means a lot more money in bodog accounts--->most poker players, with thier big rolls, love some sports betting--->a lot more rake from poker and more action in the sports book! Also, the average sports bettor isnt too interested in grinding out a mmt for $300-600. The big tournies and big prize pools are what get them interested. KK Preflop against a 5-bet shove
great players make great laydowns...u knew the spot u were in, but didnt trust it. this isnt a cah game, and folding a potentially +ev hand in order to live longer in the tourny is sometimes a good play. the current thinking is not always right, and play styles trend as much as fashion does. right now, most are hooked on constantly pushing slight +ev at every situation possible. this is great in cash, but not always correct in many tournament situations imo. sometimes u just have to trust ur read and play accordingly, all the great players do... and ditto on oske54's reply. the real mistake ...

Standard spot in mini FTOPS?
very good tourny btw, finished 3rd right' lot of ways to look at this. and a lot depends on what you've seen from limber dwarf. i would take into account the fact that u raised early pos, a somewhat loose player reraised late pos, then a palyer with a comfortable size stack decided his hand was huge enough to risk tourney life against whatever your early raise and his reraise is. unless i had witnessed some terrible play from limber donk earlier, the most likely hands he could have are jj, qq, kk, aa, and ak. if he was very solid player u might even knocked out jj or qq. i prob fold it in ...
