Most Underrated Rock Album This. Was listening to "Cosmonaut" again yesterday thinking how few albums actually get better with every listen. What blows my mind is how young everyone in the group was when it was recorded. This qualifies as one of them and by time they are all 40, if they haven't reunited people will be crying for it louder than perhaps any defunct band. Never when I thought I bought it, only knowing beforehand "One Armed Scissor", that I was buying one of the best albums of all time. We all live to die alone..... Posted in: Off Topic |

Entourage Season Finale Tonight As a huge fan of the show, I'm still trying to decide how I feel about the finale. There are some things I liked about the season, and some I did not.....but it's not done. "Season 8" is really going to be "Season 7, Part II", ala Season 3. I 1000% agree that all the sports guys cameos got way out of hand. Drama had the best season of the group, by far. It was one of Drama's best seasons. "Am I better looking than Stamos'". Drama just killed it every single episode, and I like Phil Yugota, and like that he's working with Walsh, and hope Johnny's Bananas is a huge hit. Drama and E working ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Worst song on the radio is.... If you're talking about FM radio, almost everything. Every station, even the classic rock stations that play songs that I once liked until FM radio killed them, is terrible, and all I will listen to is sports talk radio. XM/Sirius/Pandora/Slacker/etc., etc., etc. is way better. I confess though that I do like that new Linkin Park song, or the first half at least. Posted in: Off Topic |

any JEW fans? I'm a casual fan, loved the album Bleed American and saw them live supporting that album, was a great show. I have been to both the Riviera in Chicago, and Royal Oak in Detroit. Both are great venues. I'm going to Royal Oak Tuesday to see The National. Royal Oak tops out at 2,000, Riviera at 2,500, both are general admission and mostly standing room only. I live right between the two and both are about the same length of drive. Pros and Cons: Royal Oak- Pros: Easier to find parking. Not in downtown Detroit. Smaller venue. Usually cheaper in terms of ticket prices, parking, drinks. And, ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Another crappy music thread from your buddy Phi I'm a big fan of The Knife, particularly the live DVD Silent Shout: An Audio Visual Experience that the clip of "Heartbeats" above is featured on. Every single song is excellent, and every single song sounds different, better, and improved live than it does in the studio. There are just not that many bands/albums that can make that claim. I would have paid big money to have witnessed this, and The Knife are on the short list of bands I haven't seen that I'd love to. Anyone unfamiliar with the DVD and the group but loves electronic music must check it out. Karin Dreijer Andersson (aka Fever ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Why don't we construct a big elaborate high speed rail system in our country? I'm not convinced that they could create a system where it would be cheap enough to buy a ticket. I also believe that too many Americans like their cars and would not be willing to give them up unless gas became so expensive that they'd have no alternative. I live about 3 hours from Chicago if you were to drive. It costs about $30-40 in gas each way, plus whatever you figure in eventual expense of maintenance of a vehicle. It's $80+ to take an Amtrak train, and it takes longer (4-5 hours). Even if I could get there in an hour on a high-speed train, if tickets were twice as expensive, I would ... Posted in: Off Topic |

The Pixies are on tour this year!!! Pixies are amazing live, saw them when they first reunited a few years ago. Amazing band. Is this still the Doolittle tour' It does suck they're not playing other material, but Doolittle is their best album, IMO. Posted in: Off Topic |

Sir Patrick Stewart is knighted by the Queen of England/Star Trek:TNG I wouldn't consider myself a Trekkie. I've never seen any of the original shows/movies with Kirk, Spock, etc. I don't watch any of the new Star Treks and don't watch Sci-Fi in general. But I love Star Trek: The Next Generation. Used to watch it Sunday mornings as a kid....my dad didn't have cable and on Sunday mornings, there were 4 channels. 3 of them were Church programming or shows like Meet the Press, and 1 of them had TNG. So I watched. And to this day, it's still one of my favorite shows, and I still watch occasionally on YouTube. A big reason why I think the show has endured and is ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:*** Official WWE Over the Limit Thread*** Sorry, Goofy. Again, I'm gonna be surprised if it got a lot of buys. If it gets more than 300K, WWE should be thanking it's lucky stars. If Orton is legitimately hurt, that's a huge loss for the E. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:*** Official WWE Over the Limit Thread*** That's not exactly what I said. Ted Dibiase is Million Dollar Man's son. He's going around wearing the $$$ belt and even Virgil's back. The Miz is very legit. Really. Miz and Jericho are the two best promo guys in WWE. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Just watched the greatest ever season finale to be shown on TV Okay dude, if you watched something girls liked such as The O.C. or Gossip Girl or something cause there were hot girls on the show, I could understand that, but there are no hot girls on Grey's. You're also implying with this post that you also like Desperate Housewives as well, which is just as bad, if not, worse. There's not one show I watch on ABC. Every show on that network that I can think of is for women. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:*** Official WWE Over the Limit Thread*** John Cena vs Batista-Cena. Randy Orton vs Edge-Toughest one to pick. My gut tells me it's gonna be Edge, and then Edge will work a program with Cena next. Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk-Punk. Jack Swagger vs Big Show-Swagger. Hart Dynasty vs Jericho/Miz-The Harts, although I'd like to see Jericho and Miz win. Really. Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston-McIntyre. Ted DiBiase vs R-Truth-Ted DiBiase. Eve vs Maryse-Maryse. Hope they're selling lots of merchandise because I can't imagine this PPV getting a lot of buys. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Official San Jose Sharks Vs. Chicago Blackhawks Thread If the Red Wings can't win it, I'm okay with the Blackhawks winning their first Stanley Cup in 50 years. They're long overdue. They have likable players now and loved the teams with Roenick, Belfour, Probert, etc. However, if they don't win, it's the Marian Hossa curse. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Greatest Video Game Console - Championship I imagine that there are going to be two groups: People who like sports and shooters/younger people who are going to vote for the XBOX, and people who like Nintendo's top franchises and RPG/Adventure games/older people who are going to vote for the SNES. I vote for the SNES. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Reminder: Survivor ... I for one, after watching last night, do believe that Russell really believed that he won Samoa, and didn't change his gameplay believing that. I'm a little surprised he didn't go around telling people this season that he had won, even though he didn't know. Maybe he did and it was edited out. He really believed that because he played the game the hardest, he deserved to win. Obviously, many people here agree. So does America, who voted him the Sprint Survivor of the season both times. It's very easy to say how the jury should vote, but there's the X Factor: it's ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Reminder: Survivor ... I agree. I don't know though how else they could do it. Perhaps it is a flaw in the game, as Russell suggests. That's why I say that Russell is my favorite, and the most entertaining, and maybe equals ratings, but not the best. He really does believe what he says. Look at it this way: After Samoa, if he thought he lost (remember, he didn't know, he went right to this season before the reveal of last season), he might had changed how he went about playing the game to include that social part of the game he clearly lacks. Instead, he took it to a whole new level, and he didn't ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Reminder: Survivor ... Least suspenseful finale ever. And there's Jeff already with the "Sandra's the best player ever" talk! I fucking hate being right. Now let's hope all is right with the world and I get one more thing right: that America votes Russell as the Sprint Survivor player of the game, so America can tell the jury that they suck. Re:Reminder: Survivor ... Agreed, but it was expected. Most people here might think Russell is the best Survivor player ever, but 9 people on that jury sure think he's Richard + Jonny Fairplay x 1000. 5 minutes until the reveal. The jury has already told you who's gonna win. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Reminder: Survivor ... If I'm not mistaken, they filmed the current season almost immediately after Samoa. Who can say if CBS allowed the contestants to watch it before filming. It wouldn't be in the best interest of CBS, as Russell equals ratings. 5 minutes til airtime! Posted in: Off Topic |
