If I was him I'd want to be on a contender that didn't place sole reliance on a QB but gave me the scope to be more than just a handoff merchant. IMO the best fit for Cassel would be: Tampa Bay Minnesota Both playoff calibre teams who need an upgrade at QB.

I did read his pick and respect his decision, however I just happen to think everyone is sleeping on the Ravens in this game. Will the Giants win' Probably. Will they rack up 30 points and win by 13' Incredibly unlikely IMO. I see this as a 17-13 kind of score. The first part was just banter as we had some back and forth over him picking the Texans to beat the Ravens and score 31 with Rosenfels at QB last week.

Is this gonna have to be a weekly thing sheep' Again no love for the Ravens. I am (obv) a Ravens fan and guarantee we aren't losing to the Giants by 13 points. We have the league leading offense (points) over the last 4 games and the league leading defense against the run. Again there is no way we are giving up 30 points here. I agree we probably score between 13-20 and will likely lose, but this game will be much closer than you suggest. Don't sleep on the Ravens!!

I've got two similar stories from the Gutshot in London: 1) Playing tourney and the dealer notices one of the cards is marked. He holds it up for the Tourney Director to see (this is mid hand) in a way that the players at that table couldn't see what the card was. The Tourney Director then yells "You need a new Ace of clubs then yeah!" 2) Playing an all night £1/£2 cash session and the dealer is obv tired. Deals the cards and the pre flop action gets pretty wild and the pot is well over £100. Flop comes out, more betting, pot is about £300, three players left in the hand. ...

Other than Ravens +7 @ NYG my two picks are: 1) Arizona -3 @ Seattle. This is a crazy line IMO, I can see Arizona winning this by at least 1 TD. 2) Wash +1.5 vs Dallas. This seems a crazy line too. Why are we favoring Dallas on the road at the Redskins'

4) Fair enough man. I may be downgrading the Buccs too much after their shitshower display against KC recently, but I never watch a Buccs game and think, wow they're good at any one area. 5) You may be right I just couldn't bring myself to ever bet on the 9ers giving up this many points against anyone at the moment they look so awful.

1) Patriots -3 - In theory I like this line but I agree with Da Donkey to an extent. Basically I would not wager on a Jets match unless someone held a gun to my head. everything Donkey says about Favre and the Jets D is tru on on a good day, however they are equally likely to give up 20+ points and have Favre throwing INTs into triple coverage all day long. I think the Patriots should win this by 6+, but as stated if Favre is on fire Jets could easily prevail here. 2) Bears +3.5. IMO this is a lock of the week type bet. Well it seems that I may be confused as to what a 1st ballot hall of famer should represent. In my view, a first ballot hall of famer should be a super elite player, who if you are putting together an all time NFL team would get serious consideration for starting in his position. This is why I cannot believe that Edge James, Jamal Lewis etc etc are being mentioned. Would anyone really consider them a starting RB for the greatest all time running back. Taking the running back position in my view a first ballot hofer should be able to be seriously considered in the same breath as your Jim ...

I think this must be correct (the Vegas pandering). In the UK the Jets shortest odds are 25-1, running up as high as 40-1 to win the Superbowl! You can get 50-1 on the Falcons and 25-1 on the Ravens. UK bookies have the rankings for top 10 like this: Giants 7/2 Titans 5/1 Panthers 14/1 Colts 14/1 Steelers 15/1 Patriots 18/1 Chargers 18/1 (Bwahahaha UK bookies obv havent watched them this year!) My thoughts on this are that Denver is in a slump. Yes they beat the Browns, but that doesn't disguise the fact that their defense is abysmal and they can't run the ball. I can see Denver and SD both finishing 8-8 this year. Agree that SD look pretty bad, but I think Denver look worse.

Agree that Firzgerald is on track, as is Adrian Peterson, however it's too early to say for sure whether they will. With the 4 guys I listed if their careers ended today I think they go to the HOF 1st ballot.

I was having this discussion yesterday with a friend who gave me a list of about 20+ players who he thinks will be 1st ballot hall of famers. His list included people like Ed Reed, Brian Urlacher, Marvin Harrison, T.O, Randy Moss to give a flavor of what he thinks. I'd agree with this. I wouldn't say that it is too far fetched to believe that we CAN force at least 3 turnovers (whether we will is another story) and that's why Ngata is key to this game. If he causes problems for the OL of the Giants then Suggs, Johnson, Pryce and Scott can all put heavy pressure on Manning. Whilst I don't think our secondary is great in coverage they are all great ball hawks, and I's expect to see us taking some chances and jumping some routes trying to make plays. Honestly, this will be a close close game, and I'm going to probably have some money on Ravens v the spread too as I can see NYG being favoured by 7+, whereas this will be a game decided by no more than 3-6 points. I'm looking forward to the first Jacobs-Lewis collision, that will be heard in downtown NY!!!
