Live hand - What would you have done? disciplined fold dude. as for gamblin for yo stack, matter of personality i think. i'm inclined to in a cash game if i have slightly the best of it, though as you said there are a lot of hands that have you basically drawing dead. it's not easy to get away from those spots. i think those kinda folds are profitable in the long run. playing with a set at higher limits, a hand that beats yours at .1/.25 i've seen this play made with top 2, often made with air. still gotta put it down. AA JJ, 2 diamonds.. more likely beat than not. does villain check many flops' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

4th hand of 32k you're not ahead, you're flipping, assuming he's not betting a higher flush draw, and with an M of 80+ facin a raise for 3/4 of your stack you should fold. you got enough chips to wait for a nice and cushy spot to bet big on. you wanna raise all your chips on these hands, not call them off. br records suup deposited a little money the other day and ran so goot i've now a enough br to start playin .25/.5. i'll be playin predominately cash but also some mtt and sngs as my mood suits. generally followin the "protected" br advice in "basic bankroll management" by fox, found on this site.. atm tryin to put together a "records" document in excell to keep track of everything, but im not quite sure where to go with it. i want it to reflect my game in a fairly detailed manner, hourly rate, profit per hand and roi at least, but also which hands i need to ... too aggressive, or just retarded? sklansky's hold'em poker for advanced players. the rankings are more pertinent to a limit game. while they're useful for nl i think it's a mistake to get carried away and assessing nl strategy according to them... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Needless Gamble? What are your thoughts? pretty reckless hand by both :P situational iguess. i tend to avoid semi bluffing unless i've witnessed the villain make tough foldsbefore. perhaps a better play on someone with a few more chips to lose. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Fold KK preflop in this spot? hard spot, lotta this kinda play at these limits but if you've no info on the player you gotta give him a pretty tight range. QQ+. mebe you could give JJ+ inc AK. in that case you're far enough ahead to rr. i'm inclined to flat call and play from the flop. Q or A drops you gotta muck. otherwise play hard. firing on the turn i'm a cash game player, though try to freroll mtt with $T when i can. in a bit of a spot with my continuation bet strategy atm though. lookin for some advice. best explained w/ hypothetical. pretty typical $1-$2 9 handed ring game, 20-25% players/flop. you've opened from seat 4 with TdTc, one call from an unknown on seat 6. flop comes Ah8c4h (or Kc2c5d or Ad8s9s, you get the point) and you fire a continuation bet of a little more than half the pot and villain flat calls. here's the q. turn doesn't realize any draws, but doesn't imp your hand either. do you fire again or give it up' atm i'm ... tptk nut flush draw v. set happened to me twice today. first time i'm on the button with AdQd in a three way pot after having raised prf. flop Qx6d3d, first player checks, second bets 1/3 so i raise about 3/4 of the pot. first player flat calls and second tanks it then folds. i thought the check call play to be kinda odd, figured i could be in trouble. he checked turn, i checked lookin for a free card. river was another diamond, he bet out, i raised and was paid. second time i didn't get so lucky to improve, had a hunch i was beat but called to the river anyway. anyone else find it exceptionally hard to get away from ...
