Frist Folds to Taliban That's right folks, the man who took away your right to play poker believes we can't win in Afghanistan, and that the Tabliban should be invited back into the government. I bet he secretly admires them for their Gawd-fearing ways. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): i hate america Here's some viewpoints of conservatives on the Bush admin and why they (conservatives) are just as pissed as a lot of (dirty, filthy, commie) liberals. The problem is, they seem to want the Dems to win mostly so they can be blamed for the current clusterf*ck. Ain't gonna happen. Bush will screw everything up for another two years, retire to "statesmanship" (as if), and we'll all be living with the damage for years to come. gg everyone who voted this asshat into office. Re(1): The end of faith. I was just commenting on another forum last night about how all this religious shit going on these days is really beginning to creep me out. I mean, it's getting way past old. It's like we're devolving back to the dark ages. Here's two things I believe: "Free your mind and your ass will follow." - Funkadelic "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows." - Dylan Oh, and this: "When the going gets wierd, the wierd turn pro." - Hunter S. Re(1): 6 years Just on basic principle, I believe everyone should take a shot at thier dream, whatever it may be, within reason. I don't know too much about golf, but it seems that making the pro tour is a long shot. So, perhaps as you take that long shot, you could have a secondary goal, a fall-back position so to speak; another niche in golf that you would enjoy. In other words, go for the dream, but be open to other opportunities that might present themselves. You might come up with some creative idea for a business or job in the golf world that would be very satisfying. I had a very similar situation ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): anyone else getting sick of "muslim outrage" The problem is poor, uneducated, miserable people led by religious extremists. These "mobs" are no different than any "mob" in history - gullible people led by malicious leaders. These people are everywhere, in every nation, of every religion, ethnicity, creed, color, etc. - including the U.S. Over-population and ignorance = disaster "The problems of the world can't be solved by the same thinking that created them." Re(1): Why doesnt anyone play on WPEX? I'm playing some there now, limit 2/4 mostly. The software is not great, but not that horrible. I'm not a big fan of Limit, but I hit the books and refreshed myself on Limit, and have been doing okay. It's a minefield at that level, but once I figured out how people were playing, I've been doing okay. And now and then I play NL. Seems to me traffic is slowly increasing. But for low $ Limit, it's pretty damn nice getting that rake back, and surprising how it accumulates. And as you mention, even if you just break even at the table, you're still making money. Re(1): Any guitarists out there? Hey, if you're talking acoustic fingerstyle guitar, I could help you out - I was way into that stuff for a long time, and still have tons of books/tabs and cds. Also, I've owned about 20 different acoustic guitars so know a little about those as well - There was a thread a few days back about "greatest guitar sols" and I posted a couple of links, to Doyle Dykes and Tommy Emmanuel. There's lots of cool players/styles out there - for instance, Laurence Juber did an acoustic version of "Little Wing" that is killer. Re(1): RIP Ann Richards, Former Governor of Texas Yes, a great lady; sadly we've lost another voice of reason, common sense and compassion in our politics. In my adult life, Ann Richards was the one politician who impressed me most, and represented most closely the ideas and ideals I myself hold about our politics and our society. For anyone asking "what do the Democrats stand for'" - I would point to Ann Richards; to me, she was everything the Democrats should be. But Ann was bigger than just politics; she cared about people, truly cared; her compassion was not mere rhetoric. Good Bless, Ann. Thank you for all that you did and tried to ... Re(1): Top five great leaders of all-time(any field) Peter I the Great (Russian: (Peter Alexeyevich Romanov). (9 June 1672–8 February 1725) ruled Russia from 7 May (27 April O.S.) 1682 until his death. Peter carried out a policy of "Westernization" and expansion that transformed Muscovite Russia into a major European power. Controversies about Peter the Great are endless; the debates drag on without consensus. However, recently the Russian people voted Peter the Great as the best-loved Russian of all times. Re(9): 911 was planned? Excellent commentary. I'll refrain from stating opinion about an alleged 9/11 conspiracy, but it is undeniable that the people who profited most, who used the tragedy to shove their political agenda down our throats, the people who immediately seized upon lies and dis-information to create an excuse for war - the miserable cowards who have used this tragedy again and again for their own personal agrandizement - Bush, Cheney, et al. There may not have been a conspiracy before 9/11, but there damn sure was one after. Posted in: Off Topic |
