Pokerstars Monthly TLB top ranks by mass-tabling 0.10$ 360-mans On a side note RhoNin - general strat you're using for these' I've been playing them too with decent roi just by playing really tight throughout most of the tournament, especially early, due to the crazy wide ranges ppl have. Only loosening/exploiting others when I have a really comfortable stack and even then it's usually better just to sit back and let ppl spaz and take each other out and wait for premiums to push/call. Interested to hear if you choose a different approach to them' Posted in: Poker Sites |

Most Memorable Former #1 Player I think moorman1 due to his longevity as well; but mainly his consistency. He may not of held it for long periods at one time but has been #1 10 times! That's way ahead of the nearest tally of gboro980 and djk123 at 4 each. (unless i miscounted :D ) Dan or Adam, how about adding a column on that page for "total times #1"' Maybe even add a new badge to show how many times they've been #1 or change the current "former #1" badge to include the tally on it' Much like the tally for triple crowns. Also, "total weeks #1" might be useful as well for all the guys who have been #1 multiple times. Posted in: Poker Community |

Theczar19 everywhere / 1r 3x Turbo discuss I've had my biggest win from that exact tourney actually. Wait for it..$31.58 for 182nd! :D yes I'm a crusher with with my ABI of $1-2. :) also had an 83rd in the 2x version of same. But seriously, can there be some more strat posted ITT regarding this 2x/3x tourney pls' E.g. How much should you ideally look at spending, how many times should you auto-dbl-rebuy' I mean towards the end of the 3x rebuy period, a dbl rebuy gives you less than 10 blinds, at how many blinds should one decide to stop rebuying if at all' (Given the huge add on available). Who's the biggest MTT grinder? Some great discussion so far. Seems uaredead lol is at the top of most people's list. Does anyone know if he plays other sites besides PS' I don't think he has a P5's profile (') which would be good if he joined. :) Looking at OPR, I couldn't believe my eyes. Today (27th) for example, it lists him as having played 192 MTTs on PS! And on last Sunday he regged for just under 21 hrs!! How are these stats possible!' Wow. Posted in: Poker Community |

Who's the biggest MTT grinder? Thought it would be interesting to see who people think consistently grind the most out there. If you're someone who regs for 12hour+ schedules for more than just a Sunday session, that sounds top tier grinding to me. My pick would be renrad1. He seems to grind almost everyday for ~12+hr regging and sesh. Amazing commitment! momentmori same too when he not doing the live grind. I know there's heaps of others, so who should take the title' Post your usual weekly regging and session length schedules if it may be you :) Posted in: Poker Community |

PocketFives Triple Crown - Should We Change the Criteria? As other have mentioned, keep the TC as is but just create another badge for "Double Crown". Also why not create a "Quad Crown" or even "Quint Crown" or more' (Although I'm sure even guys like moormon1 would be hard pressed to achieve more than a triple!) On that note, has anyone ever got a quad crown or more before' Posted in: Poker Community |

should i fold this river? This is a great point graps, thanks for bringing it up. It highlights my poor stack size planning per street. My thoughts here are that I was expecting/hoping to have had him fold on the turn with the ~75%pot bet since his line was repping the flush draw the most. So I wasn't really thinking about how many BBs I was leaving behind if he did happen to call. I didn't anticipate a call so I can see that if I did factor that into my bet-sizing then a shove would of been optimal here. Which also confirms that a larger flop raise would of been optimal to set up the stack size better for a turn ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

should i fold this river? Yea, on review of the hand I thought a larger flop raise was optimal - at least 2000 or so. The solid sized turn bet was intending to fold out his draw. So when the flush gets there on the river I was intending to check/fold to a likely all-in on his part but the small value bet provided me too good a deal - which he likely knew given how committed I was - so I felt a crying-call would at least provide me with a confirmation on his flush. Maybe a fold was still better dispite the odds and how committed I was' On a side note, I shove very next hand with 99 and get called by same guy lol..and ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Should I be folding? So you're odds are 44% on the call. (But a lot better if considering the implied ones of a possible cold call from the remaining two to act in the hand) According to pokerstove, you're slightly -ev if up against any pair but add in some ranges of unpaired aces and this becomes a profitable call: {22+} 42.7% [5.9%hands] {KK+, AJs+} 44.7% [1.8%] {22+, AJs+} 44.9% [6.8%] {TT+,AQo+} 47.7% [4.7%] I hope the math is correct, pls comment if I'm off, thanks. Do you or anyone else actually grind these at all' Are they worth it or too much luck needed to be consistent ITM' Yea, I can start to see the general idea of run good in these turbos. I've played 3 so far and best I've managed is a 35th.(I'm not using this as a sample size of course, just mentioning my initial thoughts after a couple games) I think being aggressive early is the crucial key to build (as the crucial goal') an above average stack before blinds/antes get to crazy in ratio to the stack sizes' Having good ... Re:manual typed bet sizes versus preset bet sizes? Ok thx, makes sense now. Could this non read based betting be achieved just using the slider as well though' I mean always betting e.g. 2-3x p/f with AA or just 56s is preached for not leaking hand strength' Post flop sounds more appropriate for always ending in a certain amount for consistency and deceiving any read of the bet. Leading out a bet could look different if it was say 1x55 into a 2000 pot versus 1200 where x is 1 2 3 or 4 for example' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:manual typed bet sizes versus preset bet sizes? Thx for your thoughts. I understand doing it out of boredom for sure, but how could it be used as a tell' A sign of hand strength perhaps' Or a tell that it's a good player thinking more' I suppose at high stakes it's pretty common and normal and thus not much of a tell in those buy-ins. Re:pocket aces lost to a river flush, donkfest or misplayed? Yea I was not sure why i just min-raised, I know it's not liked much anyway lol I usually would of 3bet raised his raise to 180. On the flop I was looking to get value and thought a raise here would of folded my 2 opps. I knew I was defintely going to shove (which I did) on the turn but I guess the flop would of been better due to the turn allowing another club closer to made flush. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

manual typed bet sizes versus preset bet sizes? Just wondering if there is any significance or value out of using a custom bet size' I see a lot of the good players do this. For example, instead of a preflop raise of 3x - 1500 at 250/500 blinds, you see them bet 1355 or 1234 or whatever. Same for betting on the flop/streets. I suppose it makes sense if you wanted to bet 2.5BB pf for example. Is this just a way to show your "thinking" more about bet sizes' Is there any real edge because I've tried and for me it honestly becomes tiresome over using the betting button and slider. If it is a recommended strategy, what is best ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

pocket aces lost to a river flush, donkfest or misplayed? Just wondering if you think i played this hand correct' I seem to always have trouble with Aces either slowplaying them too much and losing to a draw or betting too much and not getting enough value from them. Was I just unlucky to have this guy call on a draw when I had the best hand' Or should I have been more aggressive earlier' Since at the turn there was still only a straight draw and backdoor club flush I figured if this was what he had he wouldn't have the odds to call a shove...it seems i was wrong about that lol. Re:call the shove or fold? Thx mate for your thoughts. As usual, in hindsight and analysis the correct line becomes clear. I suppose I got a bit too caught up in the p/f hand strength. I see two more sensible options in this scenario: - fold to his p/f re-raise - shove to the raise and race (since he prob would of called) Option 1 sounds appropriate b/c it was very early in the tourney Option 2 could of been the right one if I was down to say 15BB or if I was a much bigger stack then him' Posted in: Poker Discussion |
