do you have a set number of rebuys in a R mtt? the 3r definitely. If you are thinking about "saving" money to play in a different tournament later then you are thinking about bankroll all wrong Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Felt so nitty after this fold, would you have? Sorry I'm too tired to give to much of an answer, but I think I am calling. Big stack has to be playing A8+ 66+ I would figure, with many peoples ranges being even wider. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Deep in the 22$ Saturday 6max, call or fold to reshove with 99 for 37BBs? I think I am folding, we are getting about 1.25:1 on a call which means we would need ~45% equity to call here. I'm just not comfortable operating that close to the margin for such a huge pot, I think that range you have assigned him if anything is a little bit generous AJs seems like a stretch but of course I could be wrong. I need a game plan Go to the casino, spend the $300 on blow, screw both of the girls while your friend grinds 1-2. Otherwise I agree with the people who said play 3-6 limit or a cheap tourney. Posted in: Live Poker |

Micro Stakes mtt hand discussion I think you played it fine as long as you folded the river. His hand definetely looks like a full house at this point, even if it is not I doubt he is shoving worse aces on the river (ie even if he decides to overplay an ace it is more likely he would shove AQ or AK than A10,AJ,A8) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Was this spewy? Seems pretty spewy to me without a better read, even though he has been playing a lot of hands, his 3b percentage is fairly low. Unless you can be fairly sure that he might do this just as a bluff I would say just ditch it and move on, just making a very snap judgement about his numbers I would say he is likely to be flatting most of the weaker hands he would decide to play. Also "spoony position on most flops"' that is a new one to me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Call or fold here? Any advice appreciated I definetly feel this is a call. as squish said his 3b numbers only reinforce the fact that this is generally going to be a profitable call. In my expirience most people are not just going to smash 25bbs into the pot with AA or KK like this so I would say that rates his range even more favorably. I also believe you may want to rethink your idea about "not needing to take a coinflip at this stage in the tournament" with 70 people left risking half your stack to be vaulted up to a huge stack seems like a very good prospect to me. Regardless I think you are doing very well versus his range which ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Deep Stacked 1/2 NL hand $750 Effective Stack Help Seems to me that getting 3:1 on our money here with 14 winners (assuming the fives left in the deck are outs) and 31 losers we should flat the raise and shove the river when we hit. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

AKh 22ish BB against loose passive villain I must agree with the shove pre crowd. Seems like your best play, you can pick up a decent pot if everyone folds and if they call that's even better. If you just raise lots of the time you are gonna wind up in an awkward spots like this. Posted in: Live Poker |

7:1 on my full house / quads here? You should not have checked the flop, if you bet there he probably raises you and you can get it in right there. As played by the time you raise the flop you are very much committed to your hand regardless of what comes on the turn. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Am I getting out of line here or is this spot. The problem with your rationale about him being able to lay hands down if the board runs out ugly is that this flop is very dry and doesn't really get much scarier as the hand progresses. I'd say you are better off laying this hand down when he barrels the turn. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

More States Look to Legalize Online Gambling (NYT online article) I certainly wish that was the case, unfortunately we will just have to deal with it being because the states are broke and looking for ways to generate revenue either way hopefully they get this stuff worked out soon. What would you do?? Poor Wacky, no love from the Mode. As for the hand OP I think your raise looks pretty strong but I couldn't really see folding it with the price you are getting. If my quick math was right you are calling 12300 into 22200 which is 1.8 to 1 which means you need about 37% Equity versus his range. At an aggressive table verus a player who has already 3 bet shoved once I would feel confident enough to make this call. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

More States Look to Legalize Online Gambling (NYT online article) "It has been more than four decades since states first began putting numbers runners out of business by starting their own legal lotteries, which now yield them about $18 billion a year. Now several states are thinking about trying to plug budget gaps by profiting again from the optimism of their residents — by legalizing, licensing and taxing Internet gambling." Nothing groundbreaking really revealed in this article, but I thought it provided a pretty good synopsis of where we are at in the move to legalize poker and other forms of gambling online. weird spot with 20bbs in live 550 tourney Do you think he is the kind of player who ever raise/folds here to one shove or is he only raising with premiums that he will call off with' With his stack size that is going to be the deciding factor in how wide you should be shoving, since he raised bigger than his standard I would assume you can take AA and KK out of his range which would make it look something like this equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 54.003% 52.95% 01.05% 310075164 6173022.00 { QQ-88, AQs+, AQo+ } Hand 1: 45.997% 44.94% 01.05% 263186760 6173022.00 { 99 } If the answer ... weird spot with 20bbs in live 550 tourney Would be helpful if we could get some info on stack sizes around the table. I would jam though most of the time. His larger than average raise would seem to indicate to me that he doesn't really want anyone to flat and probably would just prefer to take it down pre. Obv this is just my take on the hand but if he is a decent player who isn't playing too tight I would shove all of the hands that you asked about. Posted in: Live Poker |
