Virginia "poker hall" owner files suit challenging that poker is game of skill
good luck to him, but I am not confident that the scenario described in the article presents the ideal opportunity to challenge or shape Virginia's gaming laws. Regardless of this case's outcome, I don't see the state or other Virginia jurisdictions allowing multiple "poker halls" to start operating. Certainly not here in northern Virginia anyhow.

Re:This is a very interesting post...to say the least
[If you don't want my long-winded legal view of the matter, best move to the next post] First off, I won't pretend to know what "high-stakes" poker etiquette calls for, but from the tone of the previous posts (and my personal opinion), I think any outrage at not getting the 25% is laughable. I do have to disagree with ANY contention that some sort of legal contract or agreement was formed--it simply wasn't. A comparable situation would be if Person A said to Person B: "hey, give me $5,000," and Person B replied "sure, I'll give you $5,000." Well, ...

Re:so i'm a little worried about AP...
never ever had any problems withdrawing from AP and regarding the amount you keep or withdraw, it should completely depend on your playing preferences. If you plan to continue playing at the same stakes, then you know how much you need to keep online. Also whether or not you need the money withdrawn for something in particular should factor in. It's really about your intentions & preferences. If you enjoy playing the current stakes and have no present intention of moving up, there is no reason to keep the extra money online just because people encourage you too, or for any other ...

Re:EL OH EL 1 CENT HYPER TURBOS
As attractive as these sound, I am going to wait and hold out for the 1 cent 1,000 man hyper-turbo double or nothing tourneys. You could probably get down to 500 players and double up your buy-in within a matter of minutes.

i've played there for years and no complaints. Course, i didn't get superused and wasn't subjected to hellmuth winning a mucked loser. FWIW, i requested an AP deposit on 12/20 and got a check that was cut on 12/22 in my mailbox in virginia within a week's time. Can't complain...

Re:Anyone used a 50" screen for playing poker?
As far as "overall picture quality" you should not suffer ANY quality by using an HDTV. I occasionally hook up my VAIO laptop to both a 50" 720p (768) plasma and a 47" 1080p LCD, and both look perfect. I do both with an HDMI cable and would advise making sure you use the same to hook your computer up, whether that means having to get a new graphics card or not. Anyhow, as mentioned, what most do not realize is that the HDTV's aren't going to let you cram a lot of tables on the screen due to their resolutions. 1080p is definitely preferable to 720p because the ...

Re:Pokerstars Player Search Feature Suggestion
I sent PS support an email months ago, basically suggesting that when you find a player after searching and then open up one of the tables/tournies they are at, that the search box doesn't go away, requiring you to have to start the process all over again to check another table/tourney they're at. I got a 'hey thanks for your input' response.

Re:Absolute Poker. Yes or No??
I've played AP from day one and continue to play there daily. I don't play the stakes which would have been affected by the scandal, so I understand the still-existing wrath & fury against AP. However, it never affected me and I've never had any problems with bonuses, deposits, withdrawals or anything else. I'm sure Full Tilt would be a good alternative to PS.

Re:Question for any pl oh8 guys out there.... flopped a boat what do i do?
I fold. Up against 1 maybe different story. Up against 2, with one of them possibly holding T6 and one or both otherwise holding tens and drawing....add in backdoor low possibilities and I just see no reason to push/make your stand in this situation so early on. But i play kind of passively/nitty..especiallly early on, so who knows.

FWIW, (i guess I've been under a rock...heard the references millions of times but never saw the video) I just watched the youtube linked video and, after knowing the deal and assuming that I'm going to see what looks like a slowroll, I didn't see anything at all. Nobody at the table seemed to think anything happened. I don't see what the issue is except that the whole "slowrolled a blind guy" get legs of its own and the legend survives & grows regardless of what actually happened.

Re:Gus is a squirrel???
not my job to search and post all of his results for you. And they're not "high stake scores." It's his total winnings or losses for O8 for the year. No shit that he's an overall big loser at HORSE and small loser at PLO this year. But somehow I interpreted the OP or thread to be talking about limit O8. And everybody knows that Gus isn't playing holdem online.

Re:Poker Sites with Blackjack fail
I remember seeing posts a few years ago on where people who chased blackjack deposit bonuses played on certain sites where you could pre-define your playing choices (I think there were a few default sets based on versions of perfect strategy [should be "version"]) and one could further change and specify the play for every scenario. I deposited a small amount on one site and cleared a small bonus. You could then set the thing to auto play any number of hands...I don't recall the avail. numbers, but, e.g., you could tell it to play 2000 hands, run to the grocery store, come ...

I don't think it's a typo...i think they just count overlapping tables. So if somebody plays 4 tables for an hour, they probably count 4 hours of total play.
