Re:Scotty Nguyen i know this might sound corney to some of you, but 7 years ago when I was cutting my teeth at TS(turning stone) casino and they had their 10k buy-in american poker championship, I was playing blackjack with a friend and scotty was at our table killing some time. He was a truly nice guy and even passed some redbirds to my buddy when he busted so he could keep playing...what you saw at the HORSE event(thanks in part to ESPN's great editing) was about 2% of how Scotty really is. Anyone who has followed him and interacted with him knows this. and there is no denying his skill. Again the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Mega Stack "Special" Foxwoods I'm not talking about the Mega Stack Challenge 2K buy-in, which I know is a 2 day event, the Mega Stack "Special" the 560, is this a one day event, or a two day event, last time they drew 250 players and with that structure seems like a long day for just 1 day. doesn't say on their site. Anyone, maybe tools knows the answer to this' GP Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:100k stolen from full tilt account If Degen666 has any point which is valid, it's that when you play online in a completely unregulated environment these are the risks you take. God bless people who play for cash online, I would never, even at the 1/2 level......as long as the servers which are owned by companies who operate out of costa rica sit in on an indian reservation in the middle of canada there will be little to no legal recorse for cheating and hacking period. So protect ya goddamn neck but anyone who cries about being cheated or hacked should just take a hard look at the world they are living in and realize this ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Steps advice my advice is to stay away from steps period, the higher levels are dominated by the best high-stakes sng players in the world who just own those levels and keep buying into them, I think this is one of the hardest ways to earn a seat but thats me personally, and I am def of the opinion that once you win a seat in the main event you should NOT be allowed to try to win multiples, its complete BS, another ridiculous thing about online poker......it makes it so hard for the average joe to win a seat and totally defeats the purpose cause there is less of a turnout at the WSOP, bad for the game, ... Re:Stats from Sharkscope don't always mean you suck Stats from Sharkscope DONT always mean you suck. They may however, mean that you suck at online sit and go's and MTT's which is about 5% of poker. I mean my sharkscope stuff sucks, but it doesn't even have my prima results from 2005, and 2006 where I made 6,200 and 5,900 respectively. I keep detailed spreadsheets of all my live winnings as well as losings(online as well) and for example in 2007, I was break even, in 2008 I made 4K, and so far this year I'm up 1800..not that great, but pokers just a hobby and I play whatever steaks I want cause I have a good job....but if you ... Best way to win a WSOP seat online nowadays-Advice Please I don't play much online anymore, only really to qualify for live events, and the occassional drunken sit and go.....but what are everyones thoughts on all the different qualifyers out there....the last two years I've come up dry(after qualifying on Prima 3 years ago-which was so soft compared to stars and tilt) and spent about 600, and 800 trying various methods Seems like steps are dominated by high-stakes SNG grinders, and it seems like One-Seat tourneys are a complete waste of time seeing as though you will have to beat a huge field, and come in 1st(last year got heads up in a 33 ... Re:whats the news with big names going broke? I personally love to hear who is going broke, its so humbling and hilarious, the problem with these threads is that the people (IE moneymaker) are never going broke because they are riding their sponsorships and personal investments.....so when you talk about someone like fischman though, or other mid/top pro's its very amusing. Great time to go back to when they were all condescending and be like, yep you just stopped running good. Fun to see Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:scott freeman leading sunday million Scott, Congratulations on your 2nd place finish. You are an excellent poker player. You also have no class and should consider growing up. There is no need to call someone a monkey let alone try to defend your poor heads up play and lack of patients by doing so. You could certainly trying saying something like" "thanks for all the support, based on the play of the villian I felt my decision is correct with K8 but I was wrong and it didn't work out for me. Perhaps I could have been a bit more patient and outplayed an opponent I had a huge advantage over but I failed to close ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:2 chops in One-What do you guys think of these deals? yeah i mean, there was no room for play of any kind, and short stacks where shoving with like KJ and getting called down by AQ and winning, yes I felt I had an advantage, absolutely, more so in the 120, cause i mean that was a really soft field the 230 not as much, and i looked at it this way, 2,300 for the day, I cant really complain....especially when like the bottom 5 places in both payouts were terrrrrrible.......they only paid 10 and 10th was like not even double your buy in and you didnt even get to 5 times your buy in till 4/5th...so i was like fuck it, 3rd twice is decent Posted in: Poker Discussion |

2 chops in One-What do you guys think of these deals? About two weeks ago I headed up to foxwoods to play their wednesday 11am (120.00), and their 6PM (230) tourneys. I ended up making both final tables, a great day, but the following situations came up and deals were made. What would you have done' The first tourney 120.00 buy in (100+20), attracted about 73 people or so. So the prize pool was roughly 7,300.00 with the top payouts looking like this(not exact to the dollar but close enough so you can ge the idea): 2,400 1,350 875 600 530 450 360 290 240 180 Two players were elminated and then everyone started talking deal. Average stack was ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
