Merge tournament changes with Lock no longer on the network
It's still there. Pretty sure I read on 2+2 the Carbon rep saying the the schedule/guarantees are remaining as is at least initially.

Revolution Network MTT Schedule
I'm not at all convinced merge guarantees will need to be lowered, or at least not by much at all. I mean, if you are currently on lock, even if ur a random fish, why wouldn't you sign up on another skin, especially when u see the schedule/guarantees on lock are half what they are on merge, where you're already used to playing, used to the software, etc. I just don't think it will have that big of an impact but maybe I'm the fish for not being pessimistic about it.

Except the buy-ins on these accounts will be grossly over-stated on any tracking site since they will use average rebuys for all R&A tourneys while none of these accounts will actually have any rebuys. Also some simple math could show you how much the backer is "up" if the alternative use of these tickets is giving them away for "free" like most affiliates presumably do.

Good tax news for Professional Gamblers
Gamblers who mostly lose would have a hard classifying themselves as professional as opposed to recreational gamblers anyway. On the other hand, legitimate professional poker players can very easily have a losing year somewhere along the line (much more than just their business expenses) just as any other profitable business can also have a losing year from time to time. But the poker player has no ability to offset that loss against past or future profits as any other business does which is where the significant tax inequality exists.

Good tax news for Professional Gamblers
This is relatively old news and the effects are negligible. Basically all it means is that you can show a loss to the extent of your business expenses, NOT poker losses. So whatever your total non-wagering business expenses (travel, lodging, internet, etc.) are is the maximum loss that you could show. For some live pros with significant travel this could be a fairly large number but for the most part it is not terribly significant, especially for a primarily online player. It certainly doesn't put us on equal footing with any other business as by the far the most significant expense for poker ...

Sliding PLB Changes - Please post feedback!
how about lowering the minimum number of runners from 75' there are at least 2-3 tourneys on merge that are some of the bigger/toughest on the site(100c, 55r, 75r) that often don't reach 75. i don't think they should be excluded. even a slight change to 50-60 minimum would help.

if any of this were true then this could be a legitimate concern but you seem to be confusing the role of the skins vs the role of the network. the skins have no control over any of this and it is not "their" games, its the networks games and their job to police this stuff. i seriously doubt the skins even have the power or access to police any of this. even if they did i'm sure a competing skin would be more than happy to investigate any claims of wrong-doing.

i dont see what's so confusing about all this. the skin/affiliate buys these tickets from merge. i imagine the general use of these tickets is that they are GIVEN away to players as part of rakeraces, sign up bonuses or whatever with no further immediate compensation whatsoever in an attempt to drive traffic/future rake. this particular skin/affiliate decides it is more +ev for them to offer this deal to whoever in exchange for a percent of the profits rather than give them away for nothing. it effects the rest of us no differently one way or the other. and no, i don't personally know any of ...

received check back in mail and redeposited on 11/10. it appears that it bounced again today, will know for sure tomorrow. this fiasco is really inexcusable. i can't fathom the incompetence it takes to make this possible.

received reply from bodog today with standard grammar: "Please be advised that the reason for your check not clearing was due to a recent banking error which has now been rectified. You may now attempt redeposit this payment to your bank without and issues." have not received check back from bank yet but will update if i encounter any additional problems.
