Re(1): Online Poker on CV Thanks for all the responses so far, i am based in the UK so i think the gambling laws are not such a problem, i was in particular looking at a hedge fund or possible stock broking so maybe i will mention it. I like the competitive gaming response because i believe it is the sort of thing that if they are interested in they will bring up in interview and by saying that its unlikely to jeopardise your application at the initial read. Online Poker on CV Is putting online poker on a CV a positive or negative thing' I believe there are positive reasons for online poker, especially for a financial job such as an application of probability theory, strong self control, patience and others. Poker may also be needed to explain why you have not had a summer job or for some people a job for a couple of years. However will companies see it as a negative interest and just dismiss you as a degenerate gambler' Any comments would be welcome Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Pokerroom- Free bar Hi everyone i would just like to let you know what benefits us brits get what with online poker being legal and able to be advertised. Tonight a bar at my university had free bar all night and free poker all night ( 30 min 7 man tourneys winner gets $20 in a pokerroom account, about 4 tourneys going at once). This was a great plan to give everyone a good time and amazingly a free bar. Hopefully other sites will jump on this bandwagon and advertise their site in the UK if anyone has anything planned let me know and i will be first in the queue. gg free bar and pokerroom Posted in: Poker Discussion |
