I think I will go broke within a month if I continue to run like this. Ahhh........the abyss of variance. We have all been there. Embrace and accept it that you will have stretches like this over and over again. Forget about the results and make solid reads/plays etc. Shrug your shoulders and move on and leave the results and emotion completely out of it. Plenty of threads on this with good advice but it will tear your soul apart if you let it. Accept the run bad and variance slides as part of your job. Do you think Mr Rooter man doesn't get shit on himself and raw sewage sprayed in his face when he comes over to unclog the sewer lines on occasion' And if he ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

10NL QQ flatting 4bet pre??? very player dependent on your reads here. A few stats over how many hands' Even active players will get hands and the utg and utg+1 relationship is often underestimated. But you have to have a plan when you 3 bet and to plan out other streets ahead. But in general this will be AA/KK more often than it will be AK-AQ, TT and JJ which even after the float on the flop makes a turn fold even easier. Fold turn as played imo as rarely will this be TT and perhaps AKdd. Play with stove and some ranges/equity and see what you come up with. This spot really changes based on your read and filter you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

need a confidence booster acceptance..............., + all the feel good stuff suggested above. Fitness, sleep, nutrition, balance, study-review, br management etc. Just accept the fact that you will hit a variance slide at some point many times over and embrace the ugly side of poker. Keep the emotion out and stay out of the tilted abyss because if you let emotion in variance is like quicksand.....the more you struggle with it emotionally the faster you will sink and your play will deteriorate. When the beats come just shrug, forget and move on. Make the best decisions at all times and let volume and br management ... Posted in: Poker Community |

2 spots with AQ 3 bet/f in either hand with 25ish bbs is rough and 3b small problematic since big stacks could hood and if you brick it is tough. I hate these spots tbo but if openers are capable or have shown a willingingness to gamble and r/c AJ and AT type of hands utg then get it in somehow. Also alot depends how they read you and what your image is. While were not super short it sucks to pass up these spots just to go card dead and blind off not giving yourself a chance for a deep run. From the small info we do have: Hand 1: Either shove or 3 bet on the bigger side/call anything and jam any flop if ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

not that hard of a spot but curious on best line As played I would probably check back the turn and try to bluff catch on the river, as we will get more value that way than by pushing out hands we beat right now.[/QUOTE] I agree here as you might get a c/c with the hands you do beat and could get 2 streets. QQ,JJ,TT,AJ/AT type of hands might pay you off but fold to two barells possibly facing a 3rd on the river. Sure you are giving a free card to the flush draw and some gutshots and those hands you do have beat but contolling the pot with a pair and using position seem best. Also is the K a diamond' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

live 1-3nl - wwyd turn/river 2 parts Clarkson7: No he is the loose villian in this scenario that can have just about anything. Pot was close to 160 ish when action came to me. My bet sizing on the flop considering the effective stacks is more than likely what got me in trouble here. 160+135= 295 and villian needs to call 105(plus implied) to draw to the spade draw. Then bet 175 into a 400ish pot(plus implied 325 back). Yea 175+ sets it up for a slightly under pot sized turn jam much easier.......and I agree his turn flat is polarizing. I just did not want to blow this guy out of the pot on the turn but I suppose there are many ... Posted in: Live Poker |

live 1-3nl - wwyd turn/river 2 parts Shit my bad......I meant turn. I hate jamming turn here but some people that I have talked to about this hand like that line and we debated about it with this type of player who can play a wide range and bluff off chips. I came to the conclusion that bet/call>jam>check behind and I suppose you could fit bet/fold in there somewhere but the flat confused me. Just dont see him calling flop with 55/33/22 here as he is not a passive type. Hence the long discussion about this player. What is best on this river call/fold with this type of player' And what is best on the turn' Posted in: Live Poker |

live 1-3nl - wwyd turn/river 2 parts Hero - bets 175 Villian calls - 175 River - 2c - pot 748 Villian - bets 250 Hero -''' At this point I beat a busted draw. I have shown strength the whole way through. I thought about jamming the turn....I even thought about checking back to induce but that just seemed risky. I decided to bet/call but then he flats and leads river I puke(also his bet sizing as I only have 325ish). Is it just obvious I should be jamming river' Guessing from the minimal replies I am assuming so. Was looking for some input. When he flats it just screams draw to me and I just cant have him on a set on the flop. ... Posted in: Live Poker |

live 1-3nl - wwyd turn/river 2 parts It was around midnite and the table was getting live mixed in with some good bluffs and some strong poker. 5 regs that I know and some randoms that appeared to know what they were doing. With the exception of one short stack most stacks were in the 400-800 range when this hand comes up. I have around 650 back and the table has seen me be patient doubling with a flopped set once, hit a few flushes and in one hand raised with 53o on bu CB bet on a Q64 rainbow flop and got the turn 7 and was reraised when I fired turn turn bet and villian was a station so I value shipped and he called with the ... Tilt Control.. Ted is right.......search this topic and you will find tons of threads on this subject with a lot of information. You are going to get eat healthy, excercise, meditate, work on your game, understand variance. work on your mental game etc. My 2 cents is that genetics and your predisposition to be that ice cold player set the line. One who is not effected by variance and is immune to tilty behavior. It is something you either have or you don't. Sure you can effect the levels by doing various things that many suggest. If that rage burns deep inside and you are tilting off games and smashing ... Posted in: Poker Community |

18 players left AK in 3rd spot...... We really do not know about the read on the other villian who ships approx 40 bbs to the flat by loose aggro stack and your cold 4 bet. Since your sizing is rather large and unless I think he is spazzy enough to do this here with AJo+, AQo+ type of hands I am really not loving this spot. More than likely we are flipping with his stack and still dealing with orig aggro raiser who is acting in a different manner from the read you gave and his flat would have some alarm bells ringing. Tough spot.....but alot of this hinges on your read on this player in which we really don't have. Nit' reg' any ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

First live cash game experience, how to adjust? You had one losing session and looking to adjust because of it seems absurd to me. More often than not your tag abc style of play will win you consistent monies in the scenario you described. The exploitation of loose or bad players is not a given because you don't play that way or think you have an edge and you very well could have played a great session but could not get the result in that one outing. Put up some volume, maintain notes and data and then look to alter or adjust if you can't find a winning style. Also the entitlement mindset that you are a much better player does'nt always ... Early Stage w AKs First off what do you think BB is overshoving here with' Looks like a juicy spot to squeeze jam here with 99-QQ, AQs+ and perhaps wider. UTG+1 who is inexperienced and has not played a hand yet is the danger but with KK or AA I don't think she even hesitates but who knows. Her calling range JJ+,AKo+. When you say fast are we talking 15 min levels and a doubling type structure' I am assuming blinds will go to 200 and you will have 22 bbs or so if you fold. Stick it in and pray. Overpair facing turn donklead what do you have for reads/history/notes on villian' Any hud info' reg/random' winning/losing player etc. player dependent imo but in general the river is an easy fold. hero calling/bluff catching against this line without reads or info is neg ev. keep an eye out for further action but nothing wrong with giving him credit for a hand. Many 2 pair types and small flushes lead out here as well as sets and big flushes either way it all beats your hand. Check-call/lead turn/lead river should have you beat most the time. Mandatory shove? THis^^^^ Most likely is not raise r/f here and is rarely r/c with KJ and below often enough. Most likely dominated or flipping and very rarely ahead unless he is just loose. You can't flat and play pots with your stack either plus you have exposure to the squeeze on your left. You actually did not have it all that bad but it is a marginal spot. Sunday,$109x2 20bb's vs (51.7 bb)EmilioVerdecci(vpip39 pr 29) 3 tables left??? Not sure he was r/f to either of the stacks in the blinds and with his loose image he knows he can get shipped on lite a ton and his suited ace can do battle against a wide range of 3 bet jams from either of you. You were not in bad shape after all and you took a shot but you still had a little bit of time to pick a better spot with perhaps a tighter range. I don't hate it but not loving it either just bad timing. At 13-15bbs it is not even a thought but at 20bbs perhaps you could be a bit more selective, but again I can't fault you for taking a shot. Either way folding or jamming can't be ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
