Re:Which Nov 9 winner will have the biggest impact on Poker?
As long as Begleiter or Shulman doesn't win it I'm not too bothered. I can already see a big confrontation early on between Ivey and Akenhead. Seat 1: Darvin Moon — 58,930,000 Seat 2: James Akenhead — 6,800,000 Seat 3: Phil Ivey — 9,765,000 Seat 4: Kevin Schaffel — 12,390,000 Seat 5: Steven Begleiter — 29,885,000 Seat 6: Eric Buchman — 34,800,000 Seat 7: Joseph Cada — 13,215,000 Seat 8: Antoine Saout — 9,500,000 Seat 9: Jeff Shulman — 19,580,000

Re:WSOP TONIGHT!!
Can't wait to see Kopp get owned by Moon. I'm still interested to know if the board paired on the turn because it was reported that it did, but Moon was adament that it didn't. Also on the final hand it was reported that Moon bet his set then Smith moved all in with AA and got snap called, but Moon said he checked and Smith moved all in.

Re:tough river spot in the million
Everything tells me this guy has a queen. A solid player would never call your turn bet in the hope of hitting a flush or straight. It's quite possible he has AQ, meaning you were behind the whole time. I've took a brief look at his hand history and I'm quite positive you were beat, but you definitly should have made a blocking bet on the river.

I had a simalar situation to you a few months ago. It took me about 5 months to work it off. I did it by multi-tabling SNG's + Cash games. It shouldn't take you nearly as long because I had to start with $10 (Ferguson challenge).

Re:Tried to Deposit Using Echeck...Locked out of Account on FTP???! HELP
The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I tried to make a deposit on FTP for the first time. The deposit got processed then an hour later I got told it was cancelled and that my account was being locked unless I could provide ID. I e-mailed them my drivers license, blanking out a couple sensitive bits of information, but I got an e-mail back Yesterday saying that it was incomplete. Despite the fact it has a photo, full name, address, expiry date and issuing authority.

Re:Stars payout in this tourney is best ive come across online.
I remember playing in a 100k freeroll a few months back where there was just over 10,000 runners and the top 60% of the field got payed. It was interesting because even the maniacs were playing tight right up until the money.

Re:Tough Spot w/ AA Beginning of FTP $1k
Villain is nearly always going to have PP given the pre-flop action. If you bet the flop and get called or check-raised, then there is a good chance you're beat. If you check and let him bet the turn then you're just calling a bet that you should have initially made and are none the wiser, and will be put to an even tougher decision when the inevitable big river bet comes along. If you're trying to represent AK, then you're story is not very consistent if you call a turn bet. As played you will lose a lot of big pots playing this way, for a small tradeoff of an extra turn bet ...

Re:Lost in this one help
I don't think the guy you're up against had any idea what he's doing, so I can't provide much insight. He tried to buy the pot on the flop with an overbet, called on a whim and a prayer. Made a blocking bet on the turn, then hit a miracle river card. Got excited and shoved. Calling at the end was by far the worst part because all you have is a bluff catcher, given the board texture and betting patterns you'll be beat 95% of the time.

Re:trips ever good here? (heads up, final table small tourney)
This can never be considered an easy fold, especially against an aggressive player. You can beat a Queen and a missed diamond and inside straight draw, but I will say that you're river bet does come across as a defensive bet i.e. weak, so an all in bluff or marginal holding is a strong possibilty. After all you could easilly have an 8 or Queen with bad kicker. If you were scared you were beat after the turn then you should have considered checking and calling the river, but I don't think most of us would take that line. Personally I'd call that all in river bet, because of the the ...

Re:Too aggresive with QQ this early in a tourney?
I'll have to base my assumptions that they are all unknowns. Firstly the guy who opened will probably have a premium hand. Flatting is probably the best option, given it's the first level, don't be surprised if a reraise gets a 1 or 2 callers behind plus the orginal raiser. Did you realise you had a spade in your hand' You didn't need to bet quite that much, a 60-70% size bet would give insufficient odds to call, so I'd choose to bet 450 and then make a large turn bet to disuade any further action if the spade misses. When you get check raised on that flop please do not ...

Was this a bad call or a good read?
This was during a 6-max SNG. The Calling station limped in early position and the TAG raises in the cut off, I then called his bet in the small blind. I caught middle pair and bet half the pot, the CS instantly folds and the TAG is frozen for a while, but calls after a long think. I then catch a second pair on the turn and bet 3/4 of the pot and the TAG instantly moves all in, which given his actions up till then made no sense. I'm curious to know how anyone else would have played it. Table '1' 6-max Seat #4 is the button Seat 1: Unknown (1360 in chips) Seat 2: CS (1280 in ...

Re:wow spot with AA deep in 250k on stars
You know the #1 reason why aces get cracked' Because people slowplay them too much. I don't really see a reason not to reraise pre-flop, because you're reraising a late position raiser. You'll also want to remain the aggressor come the flop. Given the players tendencies I would expect him to bet 80-90% on that flop. Espeacially with AQ, KQ, AK or 88. The action on the turn pretty much gave his hand away, I fail to see how you could be ahead.

Re:Help with a flopped set...
Personally, I would have folded pre flop. The raise was far too big to call especially out of position. With all those donkeys calling you want to avoid big multi pot confrontation within the opening hands. I would have made a pot sized bet on the flop, but it would get called regardless because they want that 4th heart, straight draw or even just float for no reason.

Re:learning 6-max tournament play
6 handed is a lot more aggressive than full ring. There is a general rule of "He who first enters the pot should raise". Basically while I generally prefer to limp with suited gap/connectors and small PPs. Raising is greatly prefered because they'll be fewer players in the pot and so continuation bets are more successful. The only other thing I can say is position plays an even greater role.

Re:QQ deepstacked cash game..Are you folding here?
The guy who re-raised you initially is a maniac and the guy who shoved is a calling station. If he's doing this move then he doesn't want to see a 3 way flop. I'm guessing his range is AK,KK,JJ, Since AK is more commonly dealt than the other 2 then I would go with that. You're winning expectation is >50% so it's worth it if you don't mind risking it on a flip. One thing I do want to ask is did the guy in the SB instantly shove or did he think briefly before doing it'

Re:Is this collusion?
The title of this topic is actually deceptive. I didn't think it was collusion myself either. I was more interested in knowing if there was any justification behind the all in move with 23o. Even with the explanation given by one of the posters in relation to pot odds, I still think it wasn't the best move, given that the hand has the unique property of being domitated by every other hand.

Is this collusion?
The other day when I was playing at a final table where play had gone on for a while and the blinds&antes were reaching insane levels. There was a guy who was seriously shortstacked and had 1BB left and a wild_luckbox who was in the SB. To me the following play made no sense unless he was doing everything he could to help the other guy survive. Usually you'd expect the SB to limp and check it down to give the best chance of eliminating the shortstack as the money increases significantly after each elimination. Seat 1: PokerAK (42326 in chips) Seat 2: ------------ (31994 in ...

Was this a bad fold?
This is early on in a sit and go. I'm in the small blind, the cut off and the TAG who is on the button limp behind me. I decided to complete the SB and the BB checked. I hit top pair and decided to bet the pot just to shut the action down but the TAG on the button reraises me 3x my orginal raise, which confused me since he just limped in previously. I'm not sure what he would not raise with on the button, but hit hard enough so he could make a re-raise. I put him on a flush with overcards which would mean I'm most likely behind, it was too marginal a spot to risk my entire stack ...

The guy has 30% of the chips which is more than the bottom five combined. I don't see how he can finish anything worse than 4th. Isn't the guy supposed to be really tight' The only way these people ever win tournaments is if they get dealt great cards all the through.

I've decided to try and make sense of Vikidin's thought processes during key hands. Very novice like. Hand 13 - Guy raises 3x BB UTG. I have AA, lets trap I'll bet 2/3 my stack and hopefully he'll try to shove over me. Hand 18 - I have 99 limp in mid postion, lets see a flop. SB has committed half of his stack, I still want to see a flop. I've flopped an overpair, SB has shoved, my hand is probably good plus my fold equity is poor. . Hand 28 - K10d, premium hand, I'm in the SB so lets value bet this by min raising. Guy has bet 2xBB, I have the odds to call this and ...
