Just Brilliant!!! AJK should have a "poker slang to English translation" column somewhere! Definitely P5's front page worthy as a regular feature.

PLO Hand Review (Feedback Pls)
I'm not saying it's ever wrong to get it in here with top set. But Omaha is a game of draws and in the worst case scenario you could actually be slightly behind %wise if he has the perfect monster draw. If he has JsQs7d8d for instance, you're ahead on the flop but actually a 45/55 dog to stay ahead by the river.

wwyd... bottom 2 pair in 1k deepstack at Borgata
Shove to represent the flush draw, especially since you have them both covered. Sure there's a chance you're behind tight opener in 5th who has checked his AK/AA, but if you flat the 8500 instead and he shoves after you, you're going to get all in against his short stack of 16.5k (postflop) anyway.

Practical Financial Advice for Poker Players (long)
Very good advice overall. I will disagree with you on one point though. It's no longer a good idea to get a business credit card. The reason is that business cards are explicitly excluded from all the new consumer protections covered in the Credit CARD Act that Obama got passed and that went into effect this year. The credit card companies know this and that's why so many of the new "pre-approved" offers they are mailing out these are for business cards and not personal cards, because they want to exploit this loophole and ream you like it's still 2009. As far as a good rewards card, I'd ...

Variance....can it be eliminated or reduced to nearly nothing?
The premise of the OP is wrong regarding limit HE. Pairs vs pairs like your example might be lower variance but that's just one example. The variance comes when you have AA or KK and someone chases and catches their straight or flush. In limit, they will almost always have the pot odds to chase their draw because you can't bet enough to price them out. And you will always have the odds in your favor to defend your big pair. Run bad and there's your variance in LHE.

Don't do it from there. Sit down at a Rush table, and click Options on the upper right of the table.

try changing your rush poker animation option (it's at the table under Options, the Misc tab). That might help.

Re:Bodog questions/comments/concerns
Great work on the update, Nate! Very pro work. That's the kind of info flow I've always wanted to see from a site rep. Most sites could learn an awful lot about how to work with the forums by the way you're handling this. Keep it up!

Re:question regarding anyone who has ever used popopop's universal replayer for replaying a HH
You can also open the HH file, and from the File Menu in Notepad select "Save As", and change the encoding to ANSI using the bottom drop down menu. Then give it a slightly different name and you're good to drag and drop onto the popopop replayer again.

Re:Bodog questions/comments/concerns
The one thing I know Bodog can fix for sure and fix quickly is the terrible late game structure as mentioned earlier in this thread. Nate, definitely get them to add in a few blind levels, at least in 5000 chip starting stack mtts like the 100k. Right now all of a sudden it goes from reasonable to an instant pushfest. If they aren't going to add levels, then make the $100k a 10,000 chip starting stack. Fish like having lots of chips and regs do too. One other thought....Bodog has had some good promos in the past, (miniSOP and 12 days of Xmas, and Bodog Open) but their promo lead time ...

Re:Good poker laptop?
Make sure you get a hard drive that's 7200 RPM and don't get stuck with a 5400 RPM one. Surprisingly, the hard drive write speed can be the biggest stumbling block to your HUD working smoothly or to multi-tabling well. Other main issue is having dedicated graphics instead of integrated.

Re:FTPDOUG!!!
Red pro status is all about marketing. Red pros don't have to be the best possible players, they need to represent the site well in an all around way....results + image. Based just on OPs behavior in this thread, there's virtually no stats he could put up that would make Tilt want him as a rep now. No chance FTPDoug ever even posts in this thread.

Re:ICM calling spot 4 handed in 125k 100 Rebuy Turbo
Everybody always says play for 1st and 1st only but I think this is one of those spots where you need to sit back nit it up and sort of temporarily play for 2nd. Because the shorter stacks act behind you, I look at it like the CL is doing you a favor here, doing what he's supposed to do. The pressure here is on them, not you. If one of them gets eliminated here that's free equity for you no effort required. Of course if one of them calls and doubles up obviously the dynamic changes and you have to widen your calling range. But until then, TT+, take or leave AQ+. The other big factor ...

Re:"Most Americans Oppose Internet Gambling" Article...
Instead of begging to be regulated, we need the PPA to be for poker players like the NRA is for gun owners. In terms of personal liberty there's no difference at all in the causes which makes it all the more confusing why the Republican Party is largely against the personal freedom and "smaller government" of allowing people to do whatever they want with their own money. God knows they're in favor of corporations being able to do so (as is the Supreme Court lately).

Re:Thoughts re: Fox's article
The only way those restrictions would be fair is if the live events were freerolls, or at the very least rake-free. What other televised sporting event is there where the players not only put up the entire prize pool but pay the house for hosting it, and yet allow the advertising revenues to go to the house, and have to sign away their own image rights too' It's actually absurd when you think about it in any other context. Can anyone imagine baseball, basketball, football, or pro golfers putting up $9400+$600 each to compete in a "Super Bowl" or "The US Open" while ...

I'm still playing 260+ hands/hr. I'm talking about the time bank for the 1 or 2 hands out of 100 when it's necessary. Case open, actually.

Re:Petition: Rush Poker Time Clock extension
Just because I can doesn't mean I should HAVE to. Sometimes you can be sitting with 500+BBs and the decisions are more intricate. Sometimes life happens around the computer too. Since the players who have folded have left the table, there's no downside to allowing more time either. But thanks for your positive input.

Petition: Rush Poker Time Clock extension
I think the time clock in Rush Poker needs to be much longer than the extra 10 seconds they give you. The speed in Rush is in eliminating the wasted time after you fold, it shouldn't also apply to the hands you are actually playing. There's just no reason not to have a normal 60 second time bank. Especially since by using your time clock you aren't negatively impacting anybody else at the table like in normal ring games because everyone who folded is already gone! So a longer clock doesn't slow down the game at all really. This is especially true if you are multi-tabling ...

I wouldn't be the least surprised if UB decided to just cancel it after a number of P5ers whined about not getting enough "equity" in an overlay when last week's tourney had a glitch (which they then added even more $ in).

Rush poker is new, fast paced fun and is going to bring lots of new players to the cash tables that wouldn't have the attention span otherwise. New blood to cash games that had been getting harder over the last 2 years = profit!
