I know you're exaggerating, but you obviously can't add mutually exclusive percentages together. More appropriately you'd say something like: The pre-flop raise by itself made made me 70% certain he had 22. The nail-biting by itself would have made me 90% certain he had 22. Those two probabilities together are then 70% + 30% * 90%, or 97% sure he had 22. Notice, like it or not,that you can never be 100% ...

Ape, That's misinformation as well. This bill does nothing to change the legality of hosting a poker site for online players. If hosting a poker site was illegal before, it's still illegal. If it wasn't illegal before this bill, it's still not illegal, and with the vague wording of such bills as the Wire Act of 1961, the question of legality can not be as definitely stated as you have done here.

What about HURRY-SCURRY It still has the implication of a race (perhaps even with the headstart connotataion - one has to scurry to catch up), with the added implication of confusion, disorder, and haste (as if one of the participants may have really not wanted to have gotten into the situation).

Doesn't this imply that if player 2 had x+2 coins, the event of having more tails or more heads is still mutually exclusive and the probability is still 1/2' And for that matter if player 2 had x+y more coins' This doesn't seem intuitive if its the case.

Out of x coins, both player 1 and player 2 have an expected outcome of tossing x/2 heads. Since player 2, has x+1 coins, the problem can be reduced to the chance that player 2 tosses heads with his final coin. The answer is 50% for any x.

I think a lot of people don't understand this concept because "Global Warming" is a bit of a misnomer. The effects of global warming, a thinning of the ozone layer, doesn't imply that it's always going to be warmer, it implies that the earth can't sustain sustain normal temperatures in it's atmosphere. In a nutshell, this means we will experience extreme temperatures on both sides of the scale: WARMER summers, and COLDER winters.

Being in the rankings doesn't have anything to do with being a pocketfiver. If you look through the list, you'll find a few people whose names aren't in bold because they aren't members. I think a lot of people come to the site after becoming ranked.

From my understanding, the players to watch page is not a page 2 of the rankings. It's a different acknowledgement altogether, and the players on that page, although they may be just as good as ranked players, don't necessarily fit the playing requirements for the ranked list.

Actually, under most hold'em tournament rules it's okay to lie about your cards, but if you tell the truth and your hand is revealed, you must forfeit your chips. UPDATE: I've found a rule book which includes the following: 35. Verbally disclosing the true contents of your hand will cause the hand to be killed and a penalty will be assessed. 35a. A player cannot verify the contents of a live hand that was verbally disclosed. Only a director or floorperson may check those contents after the hand is over, but before the pot has been awarded. If the hand is verified but is not in violation ...

I'm not saying her move was respectable, I'm saying she wasn't contemplating a call for all her chips there. It was all an act, including the "I... uh....I" while lifting chips towards the pot and bringing them back. No time during that charade did she plan on calling.

I don't think for a second that Tiffany was contemplating a call with KJ in that famous scene on ESPN. I think it was a blatant psycological game she was playing with the Shiek, and anyone who sees her as a donkey is only looking at the surface of what they are shown on tv.

Combination of letters with more pronunciations than -OUGH?
I seriously don't think there's a group of letters that has more ways of pronunciation than the English -OUGH. Here's what I've come up with: COUGH (as in OFF) BOUGH (as in COW) ROUGH (as in STUFF) THOUGH (as in LOW) THROUGH (as in FLEW)
