Re:Crazy KK fold. How do you fold a pair of kings that early' Maybe it is just me but I'm at least seeing the first three cards from the dealer. That look is definitely priceless as well. He seems to be thinking how the heck did I just fold a pair of kings. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:potential eye strain/headaches Staring at the screen can definitely cause strain on the eyes which if bad enough can lead to migraines. I know I try to either look way every so often and focus on something farther away which seems to help. Also closing your eyes can help provide them with rest and eliminate some of the issue. HORSE I have never had the chance to play in this event. It is a dream of mine to play in it at least once. Obviously the first step to accomplishing this feat would be to qualify for it. This got me to thinking about what would be the easiest way to get in and which of the competition might be the one I might have the best shot at winning. So I started to look over the events and I came across one called H.O.R.S.E. The only game of horse I know of is of the basketball variety. My question is how exactly is this variety of poker played' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Types of Poker I try to play as much poker as I can. Typically I find myself playing Texas Hold Em. However, I also like to try a new game every once and awhile which is why I have been looking around for a new game to try so I was wondering what other types of poker you guys play and why' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:best places to stay in vegas for amonth or two It kind of depends on where you want to stay such as on strip or off the track a little. If you want to be on the strip, the Venetian is definitely a place to at least look into. If you want to be off the track a little you can find a number places to rent a condo or house for the month. It wll also save you some money in terms of being able to eat in some nights. Ultimately it comes down to your preferences and spending limit. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:My greatest hand st8s fullhouses royal Very nicely played there ChristopherNZ. One of the hardest things for me is that when I get a hand that good is not to overplay too early. The last thing I want to do is go big too early and tip off what I have. Everyone will fold and I end up wasting a very nice hand. I personally have to remind myself to remain calm and within myself. Re:Do you have a favorite time of day or night for playing? For me I will play whenever I get a chance which has not been often enough lately. However, I do find that normally I end up playing later at night. As another poster mentioned it is quieter so I can concentrate on the game. Also the kids are in bed so I do not have a six year old trying to get my attention. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Which do you prefer: Online Poker or Offline? Playing online has the advantage of being more fast paced and being able to play just about anywhere. However, playing live allows you to read the players more deeply. You can see their facial expressions and actions. It makes it easier to read your opponents. I play both but definitely prefer live because the read factor. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:look at this obvious cheating I would agree that support is the best place to go. Let them deal with the cheaters especially since they will be able to punish him a lot more than you would be able to at the table. Best case if you engage them is they leave but they can just go pull that stuff elsewhere. Plus it could get ugly and end up affecting your account. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Advice to a newbie All very good points guys. On the surface people see poker and think it is all luck of the draw. But it is when you study it like many of us have that we start to see little nuances of the game and the strategy that is behind every move made at the table. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Advice to a newbie A friend of mine just started playing poker. As they are just learning they asked me for advice on how to improve and learn the game. I told them they need to find what works for them but that they need to play as much as they can as nothing beats experience. This got me thinking about what other types of advice might be helpful. What would you guys advise a new player to do in their quest to improve' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Would you play on a site with no screen names? It is definitely interesting to consider. For me I would play on the site. If you play enough at a particular site you may get to know some players by their screen name. However, with the volume of players out there chances are I would remember only the few that stuck out to me anyways so it wouldn't matter. Also I tend to be conservative early to get a feel for the table so having to feel out my opponents is normal for me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:AA...Am I THE worst??? You have a pair of aces so right out of the door you have one of the stronger hands in Texas Hold Em. I would take the play of the table into mind but typically in this situation I would fast play the hand putting money in early. By raising the pot you more likely to get the weaker and garbage hands to fold preventing a lucky flop from beating you. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Safest Way To Add Money Online There is always a risk paying online for anything. I would agree with Tsupa; however, in that if you keep to the bigger names you should be ok. They are well known in the industry and if word gets around that they cannot securely accept money their business will be in trouble. Also staying away from unknown non-US ones is a smart idea as their is less of a chance it is just some guy in a shack scamming everyone. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:How spewy is this play? Everyone has the pair of nines. That last four could have given him a full house which would make sense to make a possible all in move. Since none of the showing cards are fours that is a possibility. A lot would depend on what PocketOlsens has since I do not see their two dealt cards. If they have a four I would obviously say bluff, otherwise I would take the chance a call the possible bluff since the chances he got two fours is not that high. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
