Re(1): Do you guys wear poker site garb?
When I first started playing live events for either WPT or WSOP....I used to wear my Stars shirts, thinking it gave me some kind of advantage. Now I think it makes you look like a wanna be, at least to me. Unless they pay me to have a target on my head.....no way.

Re(2): "Fixed" sites
Right...stars is for sale for 2B, there is no regulation, there is no standarization for RNG's, and Stars/Party are way too big to ever consider anything but a 100% honest deal. I should have bought more Tyco and Enron. What a dope I am.

Recent Card Runners article
That article is word to word for what happened to me in 05. It's amazing how another player can describe the exact same events, how your play suffers, and how you begin to feel everyone is bluffing you. I took the same actions and took a break, lost the "bad habits," and watched others, who were on my same level. Problem fixed, back to kickin butt in live poker. Now I just have to find the time to get back online. Great article.

Re(3): Lets get something straight, and start a whole new tin foil hat post!
Jsbyun and anyone else who is convinced that it it impossible for online poker to be rigged: Have you been eating a retard sandwich' It is amazing that there are tin foil hat comments made. Pokerstars is for sale. They operate offshore in an unregulated environment. They will make 2b on it's sale. Not too shabby. There is no regulation. They are not subject to any US law, or any law anywhere. THEY CAN DO ANYTHING THEY WANT. Is it hard to admit that some of the online success you have had has been due to a loaded deck' I ask one question. Based on US jurisdiction and no regulation, is it ...

Re(7): UPDATE, I have now seen abt 30 sets of Quads at Stars this week alone!
Ok. I haven't done algebra in about 25 years, but the way I see it is the following: 1:57,000 chance of seeing quads on the flop. I played 300k hands (sample)in this time and saw a "recorded" 37 sets of flopped quads. so it's 1:57,000 to 37:300,000. So based on that sample, I saw flopped quads every 1:8,108.11 hands. Far different than 1:57,000.

What calculations are you questioning' The WPT's televised 1:57,000 chance of quads hitting on the flop' That must be what you doubt. They aren't "my" calculations.

Actually, during a WPT televised event, on the travel channel, they stated that there is a 1 in 57,000 chance of quads hitting on the flop. So, what is 37 times 57,000'

Re(1): Lets get something straight, and start a whole new tin foil hat post!
I hear you my disgruntled online player. What I find amusing is that most everyone says " On line blackjack is friggin rigged." But when it comes to our beloved NL Hold em, run by the same site, it's "no friggin way." Most say "You got a tin foil hat and smokin the huka buddy." Yeah yeah, they have too much to lose. It's unregulated and that is a fact. What ever path you take, I think regulation will put this all to rest. I know I will have no doubts when MGM or Harrahs has an online regulated site. By then, Stars, party, and all will be planet poker. The owners will be retired on their ...

Re(1): UPDATE, I have now seen abt 30 sets of Quads at Stars this week alone!
I questioned Stars support about the same thing over a year ago. Based on them telling me I played 300k hands in the month, I counted 37 sets of quads on the flop alone. I only started counting after it seemed a bit "off." There were more than that during the month. I got into a huge statistical debate with customer service, saying there was a very high statistical improbability of this occuring, if not an impossiblility. Got nowhere, of course.

Re(1): Dear Dr Jones
What I think many players disregard is that their big win or wins were due to definite skill, luck, and a good run. I think Supermoves said it best in a recent post., and Seal makes some great points. The key, for me at least, is to remember that tomorrow, next week, or next month may not be so great. I personally take a percentage of my winnings and put it into sound income generating investments. My goal, to build it to a point where my big MTT or cash buyins are basically freerolls. WHere I can enter 8 or 10 WSOP or WPT events, provided I don't satellite in.

So you accuse PS of "maxing out your card" while you were defenseless to the evil they posess' It sounds like your credit card company refused the transactions. Either get a clue or use firepay or neteller in the future.

Re(1): Is this home game beatable?
I would suggest changing the structure. I run a weekly Mtt at my home. I have 3 tables available, and a great program called "The Clock". . It's the same program most major casinos use. We usually have a minimum of 15 to 20 players, and the buy ins are usually $100 on the first game and $200 for the second, paying 1/2/3. We usually have a $500 once a month. I notice the game is much different when we have the $500 vs the $100. Point being that at low buy ins people are more likely to gamble and it becomes an all in fest. GL

Re(1): How do I not go broke here?
You say the player is in MP and has been fairly loose, "mostly a limper" from what you have seen. He has 18k with JJ, which is a hand most players learn to hate over time. I don't see a problem with him limping here for 600. I think most players would also call another 2400. your 3k raise, from MP expecting the button to also call. You say the flop looks great for TT. I agree. It probably looked pretty good to him also. I think the problem you may have is that you put this guy to the test by pushing, and he makes a pretty loose call facing a flush draw or set, the same thing that went ...
