Re:Poker Random Number Generator question?
Hi, At PokerStars, we use two sources of random information: user input, including summary of mouse movements and events timing, collected from client software true hardware random number generator developed by Intel, which uses thermal noise as an entropy sourceBoth of these sources generate a huge stream of 1s and 0s. Eg: 01000100111010010001111010010101010101111101010 Those two streams of data are then mixed into one to generate a string of 498 digits. Those digits are then used to select cards off the top of the deck. So, in the first instance, we need a card from 0-51 to select ...

Re:Stars RSA security tokens
Hello, The price for the RSA Security Token in the PokerStars VIP Store is the "cost" price for what it costs PokerStars to provide that individual token (including the cost of the token itself, the license to RSA and shipping & handling). PokerStars does not profit from sales of the RSA Security Token. PokerStars has paid all the additional costs (such as the cost of the new server hardware, the cost of the programmers, the cost of the graphic designers, the ongoing cost of support and so on). PokerStars makes no profit out of selling these RSA Security Tokens through the ...

Re:multiple users on one account
Hello, There seems to be some extreme confusion in this thread. Multiple people sharing one account - regardless of whether they have their own account - is a pretty clear breach of the PokerStars Terms of Service. The Terms of Service is online at / The (abbreviated) relevant part is: (starts) 5.2. PERSONAL USE. The Service is intended solely for the User's personal use.... A User may only have one account with PokerStars and shall only use the Service using such single account. Furthermore a User shall not permit another person to use the Service via his account. (ends) If you ...

Re:Auto top up feature on stars?
Email support@ for personal assistance with this. One possible cause is that you need to run 'PokerStarsUpdate.exe' not 'PokerStars.exe' to update to the latest version of the software.

Re:Maybe Michael Josem can do statistical analysis at stars...
Hello, Let me make a few quick points: 1) In the future, you're welcome to contact me directly if you have things you'd like me to do. You can contact me by PM on here, or by typing my name into Google, or emailing PokerStars. 2) I was only a part of the AP/UB investigation - Nat and other deserve full credit for that stuff too. The article in the Australian media (understandably) focused on the connection to Australia. 3) If you email support@ they'll do most of these things for you, using your own personal hand histories as the source data to ensure that it is entirely ...

Re:question about the Electronic Shuffle
Hello, There appears to be some misunderstanding of what happens at PokerStars, so let me explain. Yes, each hand is shuffled individually. There is no connection between two hands in terms of what cards come out. I don't think that the rest of the deck is recorded anywhere, but I'm not absolutely certain of this. It's certainly not made publicly available, so there's no opportunity to investigate "what if..." Conceptually, there's a big queue of shuffled decks, and the server takes the next one as needed. It's a little more complicated, technically, but ...

Re:Is this multi-accounting or something similar?
Hello, I see that one of my colleagues is already looking at this specific situation, but I just wanted to address the generic issues that this thread has raised. Please email us if you see something suspicious. We'd like to investigate it and take appropriate action as needed. Even if nothing inappropriate is happening, at least it will put your mind at ease. Please email collusion reports to support@ While we'll get it even if you email security@, it will typically get looked at faster by emailing support. In short, it is not possible to collude in heads up ...
