FWIW, i know ndgrinder59 very well and he can easily have both AA and KK here as well as complete air a small % of the time i definitely think this is the closest hand in question (#3) and im really fine with either decision based on read/feel of hte situation.

well, as played i think u put urself in a shit spot on the river, these out of line bets used to be bluffs but latley i kinda see them being the nuts more often. id be worried abt 97 and possibly the boats. i think on the river u beat J9 the busted hearts and maybe T9 (that made a bad bet) for me its a feel spot on the river...as far as the way i would play the hand id raise on the flop probably that is unless im putting him on the draw and then id call and raise the turn if it was a blank for hte draw i had him on. as played to me this feels like one of the draws and thus i think i make a ...

for those that put him on AQ, how can he check the river (that would be hoping that duffy (playing very passive and has no reason to bluff at this pot) would fire with air or had the case A))...he has to have QQ and hoping duffy has an A to bet. Thats if its not a bluff. I dont really see another way for it to go.

100% agree...imo he almost has to have a pair over 8 or an A to check here, i think he would bet quads but thats just me. this hand mite be on a different level of thinking than that tho and watts could think that duffy knos that watts would bet here with nothing and prob check a showdown hand so he could be setting up a bigger bluff later which would be sick. I know that when im in these spots with nothing i dont default C bet that flop b/c it almost looks weaker than a check does.

its the 5r with abt 30 ppl left i just dont kno how he got through 3k ppl playin that way oh and having the info i have now yes fold pre is the play i totally agree..i think once i chose to raise pre i made some pretty sick decisions tho against any normal player i win a biggg pot

in normal mtt play i think call is absolutley fine b/c ur much deeper and the blinds are much slower here u start with 1500 and they go up every 5 mins

just rethought this one too, there is no good player that would shove here and if he did he would always have AK KK or QQ. If im going on that assumption (which mite be wrong but thats what im thinking right now) if hes a bad player its an easy call b/c AQ (overplayed very badly) is in his range but i think this shove almost always has to come from a bad player so i think its good call with AK

i certainly cant fault u for the river call, im gonna go into POW mode there with 8s full most of the time too, maybe he thinks u have an A and he does have KJ maybe he thinks u have a weak A and mite lay it down due to the incredibly deep stack and huge risk u have, maybe uve played so often with him that the metagame is impossible to figure out that u have to call b/c hek nos that u kno that he has to have Qs there...LOL thats probably what i would tell myself as im clicking the call button anyway :)

im probably leading this flop with any hand that i hit it with im looking to get an AK to raise and hopefully get it in really bad, my feeling is that he checked b/c he has an A or he has a hand that he can call a bet with, i mite lead flop check behind on turn with the intention of putting in a raise or a big vb on the river either that or barrell the whole way and end up in the same spot ur in except having it be an all in on the river and there being more $ in the pot, i think the best thing u did is kept the pot small

i should have put more info in original thread was just pissed he called, anyways the 30k is a limp by him. My feeling on the hand was just that he was weak. As far as 3 betting this hand im pretty sure i would have folded had he raised preflop and as far as what i put him on i thought it was 6s or 7s possibly with a heart i didnt think he could call any of those hands let alone A5s. I agree that it looks spewey but the more i think about it the more i think it isnt.
