Re:Yuvee04
The thread you're referring to is no longer accessible at 2p2 for some reason, so it'd be nice if there were some explanation of what happened over here instead.

Re:Yuvee04
You might tell the truth, but you still look like an asshole and an idiot in this thread. I searched 2p2 and the only thread I found was about Yuvee04 winning back-to-back FTOPS. So why don't you post the link for all us "tools" of the world who can't find the damn thread on 2p2' That or apologize.

Re:Music for the Mtt'ers
When I used to play tourneys, I would usually listen to a song on repeat ~10 times in a row while typing the lyrics in the chatbox. I feel this was the main reason for my success, along with bankroll management. I'm not really into posting strategy, but for the sake of the forum I'll post the staples I can remember: Beginning: Teddybears - Punkrocker Nelly Furtado - Say It Right/Turn Off The Light Wolf Parade - Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts Middle/Late: Electric 6 - Danger High Voltage David Bowie - Heroes Final Table: Sigur Ros - Untitled 3 After a Bad Beat: Maxine ...

Re:The Apple Fell FAR from the tree
Some fish named ******* called my 4bet-allin with A5o and sucked out on me on FTP tonight. He had an ironmanchip so I thought he'd be decent. I was about to make a new thread on my badbeat, but then I read your post and figured this went along nicely with yours. Howard Lederer runs a gr8 site by the way.

Re:THERES NO CRYING IN BASEBALL
He probably was thinking about that stuff, probably not in terms of pokerstove ranges, but even just subconsciously through years of playing poker, he thought he had the odds to call with 55 against the hands you could have... and so he called. There's been much worse calls made by much better players.

Re:THERES NO CRYING IN BASEBALL
Pot Odds = ~350/875 = 40% Against stated range: Hand 0: 40.455% { 55 } Hand 1: 59.545% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, ATo+, KQo } Against a bit more favorable possible range: Hand 0: 42.126% { 55 } Hand 1: 57.874% { 88+, A9s+, KJs+, ATo+, KQo } With reads: Hand 0: 45.552% { 55 } Hand 1: 54.448% { 99-77, AQs-ATs, KQs, AQo-ATo, KQo } With sick read: Hand 0: 52.824% { 55 } Hand 1: 47.176% { ATs, ATo } It's entirely possible this guy made a great hero call. In fact, judging from results, he did. My hat's off to him.

I'd hazard a guess that the players that are truly the most underrated aren't active members of p5's or any poker forum for that matter.

Re:I salute the MTT grinder...
Just because tourney regulars aren't as good at 100bb+ poker as cash game regulars doesn't mean cash games can't be very profitable for them. First of all, it's not like people HAVE to buy in for at least 100 bb's- they can shortstack or play capped games. Secondly, it's not like people HAVE to play in games filled with all those great cash players- they can choose to only play in games where it's obvious they have an edge (there's plenty of fish in cash games). I traded MTT's in for cash games a couple months ago (I don't have the time or willpower ...

Re:Do you shove this river with Qs full?
It's safe to say QQ is no longer in his range on the river. And there are a lot more combinations of AK or AA (15) that he can have than KK or JJ (4). And I think most people are usually calling your shove with AA or AK on the river because it's oh so hard to lay those hands down, especially when getting 3-1 odds. You can argue that the the hand was played weighs his range more towards KK/JJ, but you could also argue the opposite. So I vote shove.

I'm not sure, but Agame might just be stating that you're not good enough to be dreading/avoiding 60/40's, in which case, no offense, he's most likely correct.

If those are the types of "odd plays" you saw him making you played the first hand badly, and I'd call river for one.

Re:Hand from the FT of 80k, how should these situations be played?
I'd say an ace came on the turn or river and you are being results oriented. The only bad part is his call preflop.

Re:Hand from the FT of 80k, how should these situations be played?
I think betting a small amount after you check is perfectly fine, the bad part is calling with KT in the first place. If I had AJ in his spot and it was checked to me I might bet a small amount also (Edit: if you were deeper).
