Re(1): Cash Game, what should i have done differently here? I would have folded the river. I have a few hundred hands on the guy, his vpip is about 12, aggression rate is roughly 1 (even smaller on flop), and is a chronic strong strong hand shover. I doubt he has KT based on my previous stats of him. He either has 44 or maybe even JJ (his pfr % is 3.6%) imo. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): College Dropout?? Needs Advice My wife is a senior engineer major and the top 5% of her class. Yes, she has job offers out the yin yang for 60k+ coming out of school. But she also has a very impressive resume. But even she admits that a degree for the most part is overrated. However, that being said. I do believe there's plenty of careers that should require a higher level of education. But at the same time there's a lot more where people can just skate by without really having a firm grasp on the material in which they're supposed to be educated on. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): College Dropout?? Needs Advice You'll have to refer to my post on page 2 of this thread. It pretty much covers everything said in your post. Congrats on your success. But I mean, I lived the college life both in athletics and in the class room. I dropped out because quite frankly I was tired of it. I had a 3.5 gpa in Engineering but just generally didn't enjoy what I was doing. Honestly, I can say it's not much of a maturity stage for the majority of people I've ever come in contact with. I think anyone walking into class on Friday morning can vouch for that :) . Personally my biggest decisions in college was whether I was ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): College Dropout?? Needs Advice If he makes sub-par grades, what makes you think getting a degree will be good enough to get a career in his particular degree field' I'm sure there's lots of companies just dying to hire people holding 2.0-2.5 gpas (not that it's impossible though.) Re(1): College Dropout?? Needs Advice First off, the stay in college idea is bullshit. Plain and simple. For the life of me I don't understand why people believe poker is an inevitable dead end, while a college degree automatically means success. College degrees are just like poker, there's some winners and a whole lot of losers. I'm not going to bother going into detail, as I'm sure anyone excercising common sense will understand. Though, I imagine I'll probably have to explain the concept farther out. You don't need college to have a "life experience." All college is, is structured learning, that's it. Much of the learning can ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Quit school for poker? Good or Bad idea Coming from a 22 year old....... The only thing I can really say is, do what YOU want to do. If you don't want to be in college, don't go. Simple as that. Take a semester or two off and work a part-time job while playing poker. Furthermore, don't fall into this trap believing you have to get a degree. Majority of people talk like if you don't you won't amount to nothing. I've seen comments such as: "Get your degree, then figure out what you want to do." - Yeah, lets spend the next few years in class without a general direction for what we're doing. "Drop out of school, go busto, work at ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

I don't really expect anyone to go out of their way to basically penalize themselves for the other guy's own stupidity in a speed event for a large sum of money after they'd worked their ass off to get there. Re(3): Making the Poker Sites Step up and Fight prohibition = act of forbiding Your comparision is on a different scale. If you're really want to compare it to online gaming then it should look something like this. US government passes laws to shut down police departments. States decide to keep policing. State policemen complain of how they're being treated by an organization that shouldn't be availiable to work at in the first place. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): MODS: How about a sticky of a 'to do' list to make your computer 'hacker-proof'? 1. Avoid looking at porn on your playing computer AT ALL COSTS. :) 2. run weekly virus scan like mentioned (personally I run one every night) 3. do not open any email from an unknown user 4. dunno how important this really is, but I keep all passwords different on every single site I'm on; on top of this I change them every 2-4 weeks. Re(3): Why online poker will never be the same Obviously what I said was over your head. Neteller was annoying for one day and then just a few mouse clicks. For regular players..... 90% of recreational players probably have no clue where their Neteller information is. Seriously, like I was saying earlier, if it's that damn hard to go buy a card from a store, than those people need to be removed from the gene pool. Jesus, have Americans really become this lazy to where they can't function on a homo sapien level when they have to get dressed, drive themselves to a store, and maybe stand in line for 2 minutes' Tell your losing friends ... Re(4): Why online poker will never be the same A simple search of google and/or yahoo would let anyone know how to deposit. Word should be spreading of how to get funds on online poker. The way you started, is the exact same way I started. But I didn't even know about Neteller at the time (because that's not what I used). I simply just got on yahoo and looked up my options. If someone can't simply do this, than they're probably missing a few brain cells. My argument really is, if someone tries to use a credit card and gets denied and just ultimately decides it's too much of a hassle to get money online, when it really isn't if you just ...
