Re(6): A game theory problem The observed outcome will approach the theoretical outcome when enough trials are performed. The a priori probabilities do not change if you have just a single trial. But hey if you want to call off all your chips with 32o nobody is going to stop you. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): A game theory problem You are kidding right' 32o is 32% to win against a random hand vs 85% for AA. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): A game theory problem I think your calculations are slightly off. If you are in the sb on the 2nd hand after folding the BB your EV for calling with 99+ is: cEV = (1490*.787 - 1470*.213)*36/1326 - 10*1290/1326 = 13.6 1470 + 13.6 = 1483.6 so you made something, but still behind the 1500 you started with initially. Re(6): Laptop advice Any new laptop will do. Hard drive is not important. Go with at least 1GB ram. Pentium M is preferred but Celeron will work fine too (poker software is not CPU intensive). A 1GHz processor is actually more than you need. As others have mentioned, the screen size (and screen resolution) is the other main consideration if you plan to multitable. 1400x1050 works ok for 4 tables (nonresizable) with slight overlap. Also make sure it has 802.11g for wireless. Stick with more established brands such as Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway or Sony rather than lesser known brands. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Party steps question Thanks for the advice! I cashed out of Party a few days ago but forgot I still had a step freeroll. Your suggestion worked and I converted it to actual cash value. Just to clarify for others wishing to do this, just go to your PP web account. It is under Game Info --> Freeroll Activity. You will find the link to convert to cash there. Re(1): Calling range on the FT bubble with an average stack? Given how tight he is playing, I would only call here with a strong hand (TT+ or AK). I would think AQ and 99 are marginal calls. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
