How do I play this river? Advice needed! Check/calling this river would be dreadful without any read he can turn his hand into a bluff. He either has a made hand prior to the river or a flush - so he always has showdown value so isn't going to bluff and is likely only going to bet the flush. Lot of bad players check/call when they should be bet/folding. Bet/folding isn't really an option here with the stack size/pot ratio so it's shove or check/fold to a shove or yeah check/call if he bets small. If the river was a lower spade it would be a much easier shove for value, but the Q makes it harder for him to call with TT or AJ/KJ ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Soccer in Vegas? Few of us are going to be in Vegas for a month or so, then back for the wsop and are looking for a game. I've seen there's an indoor league somewhere, but we've only got 4 or 5 of us. Anyone fancy a game/have a team that needs extra players' Thanks. Posted in: Off Topic |

Petition to have stars run a 5 mil guarantee every week They ran a ton more sats for the $5m - presumably at the expense of other tournaments and if not that at the expense of rake elsewhere. Tens of thousands of people bought in for the novelty factor. If it was $5m every week, sure there would be some that would continue to buy in, but most would get sick of losing $215 every week. I don't think it would hit it's guarantee for too long, but i do agree if they increased the guarantee by a little it would increase the field size without the need for extra sats. Also, when low stakes players buy in to the sunday million their $215 gets raked ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Petition to Fulltilt to stop these Multi Entry Tournaments Pointing at the size of prizepools is a little silly. Every tournament you enter you have an expected value, which I know you know, even though it doesn't appear that way in this post. Most poker players look at what they could win, instead of what they're going to win on average. Even if player x thinks he has an edge on most of the guys who are entering multiple times, i can guarantee you it's not as big as the edge they have on an average player in a normal sunday major field. Expected return drops and don't get me started on variance... Also, if some of these regs who are registering 6 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

What will your sunday schedule be? Seems to me to be a little silly to be skipping juicy tournies on stars/ub/euros to enter good but not great tournies multiple times on ftp. I'd be skipping some of course to multi-enter, but to skip a stars $109 or a Euro major so you can buy into the tilt $163 a couple of more times is probably a bad idea. Lots of people just looking at the first prize instead of their expected return. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Chris Moorman CL of Aussie Millions ME, Sweat Thread Sigh 7th, $175k 3b 84dd out of the bb vs the old guy (c/o) who had just won a massive pot. Old guy peels in position. Flop TT9 with two diamonds, Moorman moves in for ~2x pot, guy calls KT, Moorman turns gut shot but no dice. GG Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Moorman's 11th Triple Crown... Tuesday last week kicked it off: UB $300 6max for $15k then today: Stars $50r for $13.8k FTP $163 for $18.6k The FTP one wasn't actually needed as he won the $50c on there earlier in the week, as you do... 2011 the return of Moorman' Aussie Millions one time' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Collusion?? Would Stars or FTP take action It's clearly looks like a chip dump. However having played in a lot of satellites on euro sites i have seen some downright laughable stuff at times. The play in satellites in general is the worst i encounter. This hand even oversteps that line though. Stars and Tilt would investigate it, sounds like the site you played on probably just couldn't be bothered, if the satellite was only run on a small skin they probably don't have the processes set in place to deal with collusion and normally leave it to the network. I'm even surprised they answered your email. If you want to take it ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Bye Bye MTTs :( A ton of poker players have no idea where they make most money or where their highest hourly rate can be achieved. It is refreshing to see someone admit that they cannot commit the time to mtts and that their time and money can be better spent in other forms of poker. Good luck, and when you venture back into mtts as you surely will, hopefully we can clash at a final table or two. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

ROI This question can't be answered accurately. This question can't be answered near to accurately without more information: How big are the fields you are playing being the key point. If you're playing in fields of 1k+ the answers of 1000 tournies are laughable. After 50k tournies you might be a fair amount off your true roi and add to that it takes years to play that many games and your edge on the field will have changed in one direction or the other due to a number of factors, some you can control others you can't. Basically, don't worry too much about roi and just concentrate on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

4b/f with QQ here? 4b/folding here does look terrible, but i always laugh at the generic p5s responses that rule out 3b or 4b for value with a range that doesn't stand up to a re-raise. Sometimes people will flat the 4b, so obv your hand is a ton better than 72o when they do. I've played a ton of hands, especially live where people's 4b flatting range almost equals their 3b range, whereas their 5b range = AA. To reiterate this is not one of those spots, and flatting the 3b and 4b/calling are way better than 4b/folding, it just irritates me when i read this robotic nonsense about turning your hand into a ... How many hands did you see in 1st 55 mins of Rush Brawl - I played 380 in the $100r ftops one, but chose not to play it this time. Seeing all those hands is gonna up your expected roi, but i don't think it ups it by enough to be essentially auto-piloting everything else. (in my case) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

2018 & 2022 World Cup Hosts Announced Tomorrow - USA one time? Quick google for odds sees England as 5/4 favourites for the 2018 bid and Qatar 4/6 favourites for 2022 with USA @ 5/2. I'll likely be back in the UK in 2018 so from a personal point of view I'd like to see England get that one, and everyone knows how good a job the USA would do with it, especially with the experience of 94. Obviously can't make plans 12 years ahead of time, but i'd be much more likely to go to it in the states than in Qatar. Posted in: Off Topic |

Rate the new future queen of england Kate Middleton I went to university "with" them and while i never met either of them I saw them around a fair bit. At the time the general consensus was she was a good looking girl but nothing special. She had the look of most St Andrews girls and kind of just blended in, but looking at pictures of her now she looks pretty damn good. 8. Posted in: Off Topic |

So.... I wanna cold 5bet AI light in a live pokers tournament (HSMTT) These two sentences don't add up. For those who say that it's better he has more chips i would say that the opposite is actually true. If you're not trying to get him to fold JJ/QQ, but merely putting air in his range a lot then the fewer chips you have (without pricing him in with his air versus your perceived 5bet range) the better. LOL @ glitchy partypoker!! Really''' The new ipoker software is pretty clumsy. It's unclear how many people are in a hand When you move table it disappears and pops up somewhere else + has those annoying pop up windows "you have been moved" etc The note system is atrocious. You click to note someone and it doesn't register, then when it does you have to make sure your cursor doesn't hover over another player or it automatically makes you note them. But... at least it doesn't enter you into a tourny twice.... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
