Re:Is downloading f*#king up my poker playing?? This. You need a router with solid QoS features out of the box or a router that compatible with dd-wrt. However, you don't need to know specific ports. The router administration software will tell you his MAC/IP address from which you can set hard limits on upload/download bandwidth. Oh yeah.. also your roommate is a dick for hogging all the intarwebs. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:XTracey All in every hand at $25/$50 EDIT: ACCT HACKED!! A decent point! How many business models can you name where 100% of client relationships are profitable' Organized crime excluded, there really aren't any. Good businesses know about expected failure rate and account for numerous unforeseen expenses. If you pay 30k+ a year in rake and are legitimately hacked, you would be crazy not to expect reimbursement! Why wouldn't you have this expectation' The poker company is still making money; while break-even this year, you're a longtime customer and an incredible financial prospect going forward! Heck... might as well just pencil ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Deep 3.30r -- Tough Spot You only have 14bbs. Even on the button, limping behind is bad; it's way to speculative with your push/fold stack. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:I'm skipping my final year of school to play poker Even just half-assing your last year of college looks better than quitting. Most people can forgive a little slacking off and the result of burnout, but outright quitting that close to the finish line for anything short of a major medical emergency/family grievance will make you like the biggest douche in the universe. Re:$4 180 petition edit all 180s You do it just like FTP (surprise surprise)! Please note that Synchronized Breaks will not occur in the following cases: Tournaments that are running but still open for late registration Tournaments still within the first blind level Turbo Tournaments still within the first two blind levels Sit & Go Tournaments with less than 30 players Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:$4 180 petition I'd like to see all SNG's have synced breaks, including the turbo 180s! It was nice when they got rid of the break after 1 hour, but they should put a break back in and sync it. Everything but cash games should be breaking at :55 past the hour. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:SCT, what do you do here? It's wrong because you generally want at least 20:1 implied odds on your call for setmining. While you're getting the 7.5:1 odds needed to hit a set on the flop, you're still not going to stack your opponent each and every time you flop a set. Sometimes you'll scare him out of the pot, sometimes he'll suck out on you, occassionally you'll get a cooler, and only occassionally will you get a full double up. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Email from full tilt I don't agree at all. The detection heuristics that FT employs must be human coded. If, for example, pokertracker were to implement an update that tells you to raise, fold, or call, the FT software isn't goint to just 'magically' know this feature is now in play. The programming language will need to be updated by FT programmers. There's no reason they can't pass this information along. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:FTP doug need your help Regarding the P2P transfers, I understand that they're essential to the day-to-day operations of many high stakes players, but innocent players DO get hurt because of their availability. The merits of disallowing them are not simply that it will help stop cheating. Here are some common examples where P2P transfers can become a nightmare: Ex #1: Your 'friend' is a financial scumbag. He sends you money, but also sucks at poker and/or has a feud with the poker site. He's busto and very irritable! He's sent you $100 a week ago and lost the rest of his roll since. After ...
