How long did it take you to to get an outright win in an MTT? (over 200 entrants) I think I'm still trying to win one after playing online for like 5-6 years. Granted, I have really only played 9man sng's and 180 man that entire time but I have tried to take shots at the big fields numerous times. Most recently the past couple of months I've really tried to play more of them and have made a few FT's but nothing serious. I still need a lot of work in my late game play though as I nit it up too much because I want that win sooooo bad. I'm sure it's like anything I do though.....after I win that first one it'll be like a huge weight is lifted off of my shoulders, therefore ... Posted in: Poker Community |

sngs on poker stars You can check your stats on OPR also...that's what I use, mostly because I don't have a paid sub. to sharkscope. Also, you can break down tourneys played by stakes in HEM which you should have anyway if you'll be playing these. For playing, it all depends what you want to use these games for. If you're just BR building I would play the $4-180's as those will have less variance than the turbos and might be a bit less frustrating. Then again though, they take around 4+ hours to complete one game from beginning to end, whereas 180 turbos take around 2.5 hours I think to complete. Both are easy ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Staking dispute with Kornhizzle 20 and Blackberry_Jam Although, I'm just learning about backing now, I think this post nails it 100%. Even if you were in the wrong mindset when you told Mike, "enough is enough", you have to unfortunately live with the consequences. I mean what is Mike supposed to think after he hears that' If it were me, I couldn't trust the guys mindset from that point on after he says that to me. Why would I want to take a chance on losing more money to someone who changes his mind like this and potentially leaves me screwed. Sorry Kori, you sound like a good guy but I've said and done many things I've regretted over the ... Posted in: Poker Community |

AK on BB deepish in $11 on Pokerstars I think it's fine. Yea, you're shoving a bit much but at these stakes they're going to flat a 3-bet a ton (more often than if they're going to 4-bet light) and then that leaves you in an awkward spot post flop OOP. The only other thing I can see is maybe making it something ridiculous like $25K pre, so that leaves you a pot size shove on any flop if he does happen to flat. NEVER flat though! You only have 25 bigs! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Some supposed friends? or maybe just call them scammers now. I've never been backed or applied for backing but could never understand why and how people who do, think they have a case against someone who stakes them and feels like they don't have to repay the money that was given to them. I mean they gave you the funds in order for you to play! You asked for them to do this for you! If you have a problem repaying it then don't take any money in the first place. If you don't like the agreement then pay back the makeup and end the deal....simple. I mean if someone gives me some money to play.....I'm paying back every penny unless they drop me and say ... Free Hand History Review/Training Session: hosted by Gags30 Excellent HH review session. Gags was very clear and concise about every decision he made on every hand. He handled numerous tournament situations and the thing that really impressed me is he didn't just talk about the decision he made in every hand he also talked about what he would've done if the circumstances had've been a little different. The "what ifs" of a hand really paints an excellent picture of the overall concepts he covered. I sincerely hope he does this again in the future, he is an excellent speaker, teacher and player! Thanks Gags! Hope to hear another one in the future! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Question for Canadians There's no way the Canadian gov't would do this imo. They would at least try to come to some deal to tax the poker companies first because they're so greedy. Also, I think nowadays poker is looked better upon overall than what it is down in the states, especially in BC, Calgary and Ont. You already have the lottery corp. in BC start up it's own gaming website that I believe now offers poker.....so as long as they are getting some of the pie they'll be happy. I think there would be a HUGE push from players around Canada to stop a ban if it did happen, and you know how bad MLA's are concerned ... Posted in: Poker Community |

How many of you absolutely believe positive thinking is directly related to results? This is the easiest question ever posted here!!! Of course positive and happy thinking is going to be able to crack Aces!!! Let me tell you why! The thing is just thinking positively and happy thoughts alone is not going to be able to crack aces or win you a tournament...............but for the most part it is an essential FACTOR in cracking aces or winning a tournament! Without it your odds of winning will drop down dramatically! The fact is you need a combination of many things in order to win....good, sound play, making moves at right times, luck, etc. BUT for the most part you also need ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

thinking about withdrawing the rest of my roll... Spectre is dead on!!!!! I just went through a 1000 game stretch where I couldn't win anything. Wanted to throw up everyday. It was also due to internet provider issues (loss of internet, etc.) but the point is I studied harder, and started each day out forgetting about the previous day and focussed on playing good fundamental poker. I'm getting out of the hole now and have turned things around but in the meantime I made a decision to go back to a "real" job and will not only play on my days off for the next 2 years, but......I will be funding my account which will enable me to play mid stakes ... Best MTT training site out there? I don't think you can get much better than PXF imo. Sheets is the best teacher around for building a solid fundamental base to go off of! Plus 3-4 times /week they do live chat sessions and seminars where you can talk to the pros, ask questions, whatever you want. Very organized site and worth way more than the monthly fee they charge. Need opinions regarding this failed chop chat, please and TY. He could've time banked too, instead of raising to give his answer. Only conclusion you can draw is that he was going to play his hand out and try to win it right then and there. If he won, I guarantee you he would've either renegotiated for a higher chunk or played it out. There's no way he would've given you 13,750 if he had've won that hand or if roles were reversed. He was being sneaky and got exactly what he deserves. Congrats on the win buddy! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Table Ninja Glitch wtf??? This happens to me also periodically. All I've done is try to pay attention and notice when my screen glitches when I have the tables stacked. When it does happen I quickly take the problem table out of focus and reset my tables view in pokerstars. It's fine after that. It seems to occur the odd time when I isolate a table and then drop it back into the stack. I don't know how to fix this problem from reoccuring but that is what I do to fix it when it happens. To all the mass multitablers I recently had same problem. Had my hard drive checked and it was damaged. So I replaced it. Upgraded from 2G of RAM to 3. Had the fans, etc. cleaned. Computer works great now. I found the clean worked wonders. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Debate Over Hand, Final Table of a $4.40 180 man Raise/call is by far the better choice assuming these ranges.....................You raise 2.5x and a villian behind reshoves say 30% (which is what I see them do all the time in a $4.40), it`s huge +EV. Even if you tighten they`re reshove range to 14% it`s a huge +EV for raise/call. Open shove is fine. The only situation where raise/fold becomes a good option and shoving a bad option is if the villians behind are only reshoving or calling your shove with say like 7.5%, where it's polarized to premium hands. But I wouldn't assume thats the case 6 handed. My opinion ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Poker Stars problem Check your computer for viruses. Turn off your security and run a free scan from a-squared. You will usually be able to find any problems using that. Or else it could be connection problems from your provider. I've had problems like that in the past and those have been the culprits. Hope that helps. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:tableninja Definitely sounds like you have a virus. Anytime I've had something like that happen it always turns out I have a trojan. Turn off whatever security you're running and do a free online virus check through bit defender or NOD32 software. Just google "free online virus scan" and a list of them should come up. Run 2 or 3 of them and by then you're computer should be cleaned. Sometimes, the security you're running for some reason whether corruption or other cause doesn't detect stuff that you pick up, so by turning you're security off and running those free ...
