Is this a good value bet or would betting only lose to a better hand?
The history. I have been at the table for around 30 minutes. Villain has been fairly aggro if first in but is making a lot of cold calls with a fold on the flop. Villain also doubled me my first BB by three barreling 10o2o into a 6h,Th,Jc,Js,8c board with a min preflop raise from him. I played that one very passively with Jh3h. So far I have been very, very passive as he and another at the table have happily been three barreling nada. Should I raise on the river, (or earlier for that matter)' Will only a better hand call, or do you see some value from PP or 9x here' Thx red Hand# - Seville ...

Thoughts on FTP "Rush Poker"
The Rush ring games up to around the 25/50 level are very profitable but as mentioned you must be very careful with the BR as it is easy to see quick drops without the usual time involved to adjust your mindset, BR, strategy, etc..

Re:Worse call ever ?
Villian did make one huge mistake here. He berated you for a poor play. That then led you to check out that play with a forum that contains some very good players. Those players have given you advice that would greatly improve your play in this particular situation. Bad on him driving the fish to get better. However in the end given that you seem unwilling to absorb any of the advice given, his bad move appears to be cancelled out.

Re:Tough spot with trips in multi way pot. 10$
So you were planning to fold turn pretty much regardless of the turn card' Why call flop' If you are going to call that flop then this should be your dream card. Preflop I like a call with the other option a fold. I can't bring myself to raise in that spot. On flop, I like a raise, another ~480 more often than calling. I would have to have a read to fold probably. Turn I put it in.

Re:KK on turn in FTP 28,000. Easy call or laydown?
The spirit of this holds true, I was hoping to induce some action. That said it is the guy behind me who min-raised the turn, and that is what has made me stop to reevaluate. But I can certainly understand the "once you have tried to induce action you have to take it" idea. Also, good name.

This is also my thinking. I would be grateful to hear what some regular deep stackers would have to say. Will change the title to reflect this.

Re:KK on turn in FTP 28,000. Easy call or laydown?
Some good thoughts here. 1. When you say bet the flop for hand definition, what are you going to do if you put out a cbet and get 70% pot raised on that flop' With 30 BB I am snap calling, with 100BB I am hanging my head and saying god dammit there goes another big stack. I really think 8s are in both villains ranges and that mike at least can fold a weak J to a flop bet but not a turn bet so what am I accomplishing with a flop bet here' Value from AJ, KJ, QQ, maybe QJ but at the risk of really inflating the pot with a hand that is already either way ahead or way behind. 2. yeah it is a ...

Re:KK on turn in FTP 28,000. Easy call or laydown?
fair enough. Sadly this thread is real. I have been playing more cash lately and noticed that my winrate during a session where I am mostly playing for ~30-40 effective BB is much, much, much higher than my "winrate" when we are moving 80 BB and over. So I am pretty sure I sucks at the deep stack but in retooling I recognize I have probably become too passive. Here is my possibly far too passive mind set. With all of us 90BB and up Villain ranges open up a lot. So I check the flop: a. expecting dr to bet, as I said he has been pretty active and seems a little bluffy. Depending on ...

To be honest the shove did not scare me at all. It was the min raise from a -85% ROI player that made me stop and think before shoving.

KK on turn, deep stacked in FTP 28,000. Easy call or laydown?
Both villains have been active. Both also have almost no tourneys played at FTP but mike is a winner. Mike has shown the goods both times he was called down. drron has made two either great value bets or value bluffs. I went for pot control on the flop and then am hoping to induce on the turn expecting to put in a big raise but expected more of a raise from dr then the push from mike,Thoughts' Full Tilt Poker Game #18581366210: $28,000 Guarantee (140669385), Table 101 - 30/60 - No Limit Hold'em - 22:44:15 ET - 2010/02/18 Seat 1: discgolfers3 (2,408) Seat 2: MikeMcd1921 (5,535) Seat 3: ...

Re:tough spot with KK in 19.5K
I agree this doesn't seem like a set but why would he c/r the nut flush in this spot' If he did hit the Ahxh why would he not let you come along for the ride at 900' That will build the pot to the point that he can get at least one of you in just by making donk 3/4 pot bets on the turn and river. Plus he gives you the opportunity to make a move. As for the AhAx hand evaluation, do you really think he is making a second flat with AhAx' I think you have to push here and expect calls from xhxh and AhQx, and get folds from everything else a lot of the time.

Once you have made the 1500 bet this hand will almost invariably play out like this. I am probably just letting this hand go but if you do want to play it just limp and leave yourself fold equity from the two blinds post flop.

daily double 99 after flop what is your play?
Ok I hate the way this hand went. villian seems like a strong player has been playing aggresively but showing up with the goods. Re:hand in 55 4max how do you play it?
Thanks for the replies. Thus far everyone seems to like the turn bet and that is concerning to me as I don't see it. Here is my reasoning for the turn check. 1. keep the pot down. He calls a reraise and a flop bet from OOP. My range on this particular player at the turn is ~22-AA, AK, AQ, A6s, A5s, A4s, A3s, 67s, 56s, and air. If I bet turn he folds AQ and air certainly. He may fold A6, A4, 22, 88, and 99 to a reasonable turn bet. So I am folding out most that I can beat and almost none I can't. 2. The turn check should induce bluffs some % of the time. The prob I have on the river ...

hand in 55 4max how do you play it?
35 left paying 16. I am sitting in 10th. Gizmo has played a loose weak game to this point. Elbebe seems loose/competent but missed a couple of bets with marginal hands earlier, in my opinion. Re:Official Cake Poker Feedback Thread
Thanks for taking the time to listen. I think that the crowd has already covered several vital points (screen sizing, dearth of good tourneys in the low-mid range, software issues). In addition I wondered what happened with the brief period where you allowed gold chip SNGs with cash prizes. While I realize that the prizes were offered at 2x the current store value of a gold chip I think that even at the current exchange rate you would be adding value to the chip and specifically targeting that value to SNG players with these type of SNG cash/GC exchange options. Also, I must say that I have ...

1. People who believe that the fact that they just won the last hand makes their play better than yours, and will now tell you why. 2. People who reach into my little section of the table. For a dropped chip, cause they think you took their card, whatever. Stay away from my cards and chips.
