From a few different podcasts it appears that the EPT was held in a hotel across the street from the casino. This explains why the money was out and the lack of proper security. Pokerstars supposedly had done a threat assessment, which is common, and determined that they did not need the level of security in downtown Berlin like they have in other locations.

"If" properly selected 1000 people can be a very significant sample size. Most political polls and product surveys start at about 1000 households. However the polling organization literally has to target its survey very very precisely. This sounds like a grad student research project to me.

Instead of a Rebuy call it a "Top Off" like in cash games. The top off should only cost you the percentage of a rebuy necessary to return to starting. If it were an automatic option the prize pools would sky rocket.

It messes up pot odds nazis. WAAAAAY back in 2005 there used to be an auto betting program for PartyPoker that would auto bet whatever % you told it to with a certain hand range. Sometimes the bets came out weird as hell . Stacksizing was funny too. 2+2 used to have a thread on the optimal bet amounts to get the largest possible stack to appear on the screen for various levels. Tilt Inducing. It will have a tendency to funnel currency specific players into the same events. You are going to see a decrease in Euro players at USD tables/events especially when the currencies move against each other.

I suck at coin flips so badly even my "Live" friends laugh about it. Just try to stay out of those situations until absolutely necessary. I don't know what or where you play but forcing the short stacking micro donks into playing flops really aggravates them. They only know starting hands and have no real clue as to post flop play.

I am a limit guy. No more than 30BB and Auto rebuy/Top Off at 15BB. Anything more and you will get put into the noob category. Deepstacks in FLHE only get a lol/chuckle and put you squarely in the grinder's sites. Since the SSS crackdown the FLHE games have attracted quite a few of the Russian raise bots. Enjoy.

Rant time.
I hear regulars/grinders/ballahs complain that the 10% pay out MTTs don't pay enough every single day but there is one major problem. If us recreational players don't earn something we eventually go away. Look at the size of the fields in the 20% payout events. They are enormous because they are full of players just looking for a min cash off of a satellite entry. To them that is huge money. Live pros are even starting to talk about asking for flatter payout structures and 20% payouts to increase the player pool. You multitabling math geniuses should be doing the same. What is ...

I am not defending AP/UB and I don't even play there. Every poker client that you download has the same capabilities that has been found on UB. All the way back in 2004 Party was running registry scans to shut down the winholdem users. Pokerstars did it to combat pokeredge and the auto-bet add ons people were writing and Full Tilt not too long ago to shut down thousands of bonus bots. This is not new.

sweetgenuine04 is a recreational player with a 4.8% cash rate over the last 4 years. He raised 10xBB. You shoved. He probably put you on middle PP and saw it as a chance to GAMBOOL. He had three outs and his history shows he will call. Make him play a flop.... They generally cannot do anything post flop except fold or suckout.

FTP added FLHE yesterday. Online FLHE died online because of the slow game play. Once us fish realize that they won't lose their whole $50 bucks in one suckout it should explode. It is beneficial for both sites to encourage FLHE play on the increased flop percentages and extra rake. If stars just added Turbo FLHE (10 second clocks) to ring/MTTs us fish would hang around a little longer and keep depositing. Getting four bet off of every other hand gets really old.

Existing US players can still use it. No new sign ups. About the fees. It has been a very long time but if the site you want to play on has Echecks use it. The fees used to be pretty steep right after Neteller left the US.

WBCOOP on Pokerstars: Tournament Reports
Since I am a far better observer than poker player............... I live blogged during the event and followed it to the final table. Sometimes it was comical but overall it was a good example of how a patient decent player can overcome monster luckstacks. There were a few P5ers that I saw along the way. The full text with screen shots is on my blog. I will be live blogging all five events this week. It should be fun, entertaining and educational.

I played in a 4 x180 on stars last night with a player named "etnal" or "etenal" (I think). He had over 4000 $4 180s in three years with an ROI of 57%. He actually chatted and talked about his life at that level. Super nice guy. 1. He knew he could make more but was grinding up a proper roll without a backer. 2. His hourly rate sucked. McDonald's paid better as a full time job. 3. Sometimes he got insanely bored playing 35 MTTs a day. 4. He was in horrible physical condition. So yes you can win at micros but the overall cost in Life Equity far outstrips a straight ...
