Bodog Discussion Updates Are there any plans for a better vip program' The one they have now is terrible, and a good vip program helps attract fish and experienced players alike. Not only does it attract new players if it is a good program, but the players that play on the site have some sort of incentive to play more if there are mile markers that they can achieve to get better benefits. I can guarantee that putting some sort of carrot on a stick in front of us will do wonders for the sites traffic and revenue generation. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Need Advise on New Website to Play On Of the 3 mentioned so far, Bodog doesn't actually offer rakeback, 33% on Cake, and %30 on UB/AP. Bodog doesn't have mtt sngs above 45 person and the 45 person tourneys are only $1, and you won't find any $1-3 mtts with guaranteed prize pools of $1000 or more, just not enough traffic. Cake is about twice as big as Bodog, but still won't have what you are looking for. For US players UB/AP is the next biggest (about 10 times as big as Bodog) behind Full Tilt and Pokerstars and is most likely to have what you are looking for. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Bodog questions/comments/concerns 1. Big Guarantees: Arguing that big guarantees didn't work is faulty logic because the other variables are different. In the days that the guarantees were bigger, bodog had one very large flaw: payouts were horrible. In those days payouts would take a month or 2 and then sometimes bounce. It was terrible, that is why people were leaving. Nowadays, Bodog payouts are one of the best in the business. Checks are always received in less than a week and cash without a problem. That being said bigger guarantees would definitely generate more traffic, not sure if it would be cost effective, but ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Challenge to Boku I don't know if there were any conditions. All he did was 9 man 6.50 turbos. But it didn't really sound like there were any restrictions on the record other than needing to turn a profit. And it was unclear whether the tournaments had to finish within the hour or whether they just had to all start within one hour. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Challenge to Boku So Elky just did some publicity stunt where he set the record for number of sit and goes played in an hour, and just because I think it is the stupidest record and even stupider that they decided to publicize it by doing it front of a live audience, I think it would be really funny if Boku decided to log on and take an hour to demolish elky's record before they are even done publicizing elky's record setting performance. Re:[Propbet] Turning 100$ into 10000$ in 15 days LOWLIMIT ONLY Chip dumping against him would just be retarded. It is the first thing you read about in any sit and go book or strategy article, when two other people get all in on the first hand and one of them gets eliminated everyone else in the tournament has just increased their tournament equity. Trying to chip dump against him would just be increasing his tournament equity. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Jamie Gold signs with aced! ^^^^ I think this is actually a really great move by . I mean who isn't going to want to go play there if they know that is exclusively where jamie gold will be giving away his money. If they wanted to make another big signing, they could pay guy laliberte to play exclusively there too and I'm sure that their site would be flooded with players. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:14 left in 180.. should I be pushing or folding This range is way too tight. With a sklansky chubukov number of about 28 (your stack divided by the small blind) the range of hands that it is mathematically correct to shove even if your hand was turned face up would be: 22+, A2+, K7o+, K3s+, QTo+, Q9s+ The fact that there are antes in the pot would make this range even wider and the fact that your hand is not face up, thereby giving your opponent the chance to fold hands that are a favorite against you, would suggest that your range should be even wider. Granted that this is just considering chip equity and not tournament equity, but with ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:UB's Version of NL Poker So it sounds like most people correctly understand that the minimum raise has to do with the amount of the previous raise as opposed to the amount of the previous bet e.g. in the 100-200 example with an initial raise to 600 the minimum raise would be to 1000, so I would like to bring up a finer point of the rules having to do with all-in raises. It is my understanding that when a player moves all in it qualifies as a raise as long as the amount they move all in for raises the total bet by at least half of the minimum raise, and is otherwise considered a call. For example, with blinds of ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Go Bodog!!!! (fast payouts) My last several checks have all been about 2 weeks, but my most recent one I received in less than 1 week. IF Bodog is able to keep its payouts consistently quick, I don't know what people are going to be able to harp on them for. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

DoN question, followed by a survival story In the first hand, when you are this short and don't have any fold equity are you trying to just fold and hopefully squeeze into the money when other people play badly or are you getting it in when the time is right and trying to double up. I figured it would be best to get it in on the other short stacks bb as opposed to folding. Basically if I fold, after the blinds pass hunraken88 and me then I will ante out before the blinds reach hunraken88 again to put him all in. If I had enough chips to survive long enough that the second round of blinds would reach Hunraken88 and put him all in ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:DoN question Ok, new question. As the big stack with 6070, sitting in the small blind @ 200/400 with the stacks as they are, if someone shoves 2000 into you are always going to call with any 2 cards' If not, how wide are you calling, or are you just pretty much always folding' If you are calling, how short could your stack be and you would still be calling any 2' And are you calling if you aren't in either of the blinds' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:WHy cant I beat 3/6 LImit (20$ for the best suggestions!! Pretty much everything Annette said, I'm just going to try to explain some of the things. 1. Fold garbage hands with bad position (10-9o, J8o, etc). These hands will never have the correct implied odds for hitting your monsters, this is limit you can't get paid off a ton like in no limit. And when you do hit some marginal part of the flop it will be second best too frequently so you will be donking off more chips with the second best hand giving you bad reverse implied odds. 2. Any hand worth playing, come in for a raise preflop. You can get people to fold, you take initiative in ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

DoN question down to six players, blinds at 125/250 ante 25 and there is a stack with 420 and a stack with 485 (who is actually sitting out). I'm sitting on about 2200 and in the bb with aa and the small blind who has me covered by a few hundred minraises. If he shoves all in I know this is an easy fold but as it is played, Do you shove knowing that he should fold any two or do you just fold not wanting to risk that he is dumb enough to call' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:The Productivity of a Professional Online Poker Player When I read this debate about the productivity of poker players, I seem to think that there is a much more important question to ask: Are all those other jobs that are "productive" (and are therefore much more worthy of respect) actually for the "good of society"' It reminds me of this scene in Good Will Hunting in which Will goes to interview at this think tank where he would be working on decoding stuff and he goes on this elaborate story about what the end result of his work might be (you'll have to watch the movie if you don't know what I'm talking ... Re:Double or Nothing, i need input If BB is calling too often this is a fold. Especially if indianac70 hasn't been throwing his chips in too often to call short stacks, if he hasn't then you will just shove when the bb is on dibbiedee and CELTSFAN73, both of which will be calling very very tight. Besides you may not have to steal their blinds if on the next hand the small stack in the sb shoves his stack into the big stack and gets called and busts. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

How long do you wait against this opponent? I was playing in a tournament with an opponent who is literally raising every single hand and calling every single reraise no matter how big the reraise is and no matter how bad his hand is. I am just 2 seats behind him so I have excellent position and I'm just waiting to pick up a real hand to shove on him and double up, but what I'm wondering is how long do you wait, because at some point any hand that is better than average is ahead of his range and so at some point it would be better to just take that match up then continue waiting and letting the blinds eat you up. So what ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
