Re:petition to bring back old server error screen Error Executing Child Request at XXXX-...-XXXX.aspx Note that "child" here is an adjective modifying the type of request (a request that was executed, i.e. implemented, by a parent process), and not a poor helpless infant awaiting the swing of an axe, as Microsoft's poor terminolgy might otherwise be interpreted. At any rate, the two messages are related, and were/are both occuring because the server is being asked to do too much at once. Re(1): Fantasy Filmmaker Update I know this looks a bit like sour grapes since I'm not very close in the running here, so let me preface this post by saying I've had a lot of fun with this game, and I'm not suggesting that anything should change for this particular competition. I do think, however, that we should re-evaluate the scoring if this game is ever played again (I, for one, hope that there's a 2008 version). Averaging the Rotten Tomato "Fresh" percentage scores with the IMDB average ratings doesn't make any sense to me. The IMDB ratings are average scores from users voting a scale of 10 score, whereas the Rotten ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): Question about Sortable Rankings. The Sortable Rankings do not reset at the first of the year. They use the scoring rules of the Sliding PLB, namely, all scores from the last sliding year count, with more weight given to more recent scores. If you are motivated to move up in your own personal region/category, you'll certainly move to the top or near the top of the list if you have the best track record over the last 3 months. Re(1): What do the highlighted blue scores in "my scores" for rankings mean.. From the Leaderboard FAQ, Question 3: How does the sliding leaderboard work': "The Sliding Leaderboard is the leaderboard that factors into the results portion of the World Wide Rankings. The Sliding PLB is also the sole source of information for all Sortable Rankings (i.e. rankings by country, age, and other criteria). The Sliding Leaderboard combines a player's top 40 finishes, with a maximum of 24 from any single site and spans the most recent 12 months of data collected by . Re(1): card calculator error This isn't really an error, just a product of the way the calculoator works. From the calculator landing page: The Card Calculator then runs 25,000 simulation hands [to calculate results]. You will notice a very slight, insignificant change in the odds after each calculation. For a thorough explanation of this variance, click here. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Most Final Tables In A Week From the PocketFivers Stats Page, SCTrojans has made 41 final tables in the last month. That's an AVERAGE of 10 per week and that's in a month when he was constantly playing live events in Vegas (including his deep finish in the main event). Going into his recent scores page off his profile, this stretch between 6/15 and 7/22 looks to be the most recent impressive week. I count 15 final tables in the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Question about omaha hi/lo card calculator poker4jab, Results do not add up to 100% because all the events listed are not mutually exclusive. Winning the HIGH at 34.16% says nothing about whether you win, lose, or tie the LOW (or whether or not a LOW even comes). Some of the 34.16% times you win the HIGH, you win the LOW, some of the 34.16% times you win the HIGH, you tie the LOW, and some of the 34.16% times you win the HIGH, a LOW doesn't even come, so adding the events together doesn't make sense. It would be like taking the chance I roll a 4 or greater on two dice and the chance that I flip heads on a single coin toss, and ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Question about omaha hi/lo card calculator EyeKnows is correct. In the case of the two hands you have entered into the calculator, IF a low comes, the first hand will win (or at least tie) it. If a low does not come, there is a 0% chance that the first hand will lose the low, and therefore a 0% chance that the first hand will lose both. In other words, with a board of KKKQQ, the first hand DOES NOT lose both, but instead loses 100% of the pot by losing the high. Cheers, Riley Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Sortable Rankings Links As we get more members from different countries, we do plan on having default rankings for regions based on provinces or counties. As it stands, however, we currently have 20,000 members with US listed as their country in their personal profiles (justifying a breakdown to the state level), whereas we only have 1013 members with Canada listed as their country. I'm not yet sure where the cutoff is for breaking down countries into regions, but I'd like each subcategory (provinces in the case of Canada) to have an average of at least 100 members each. Sortable Rankings Links With all the talk about people being number one in their region, it seems people are trying to get to the list being talked about without an easy way to do so. With that in mind, there's now a link in everyone's profile below the location field, that points to the sortable rankings page for the particular member's state (if they live in the United States) or country (if they live outside the United States). Hopefully this will make easier for people to get to some of the rankings everyone is talking about. Enjoy, Riley Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Please Update Your Location Information! As many of you have noticed, we have been changing the way the "Location" field is stored in your personal profiles as preperation for International and State Rankings here on PocketFives. We have attempted to match your location firstly by taking the zip code you had previously entered in your profile, and secondly by matching your location from your ip address. The success rate for these matchings was decent, but not 100%, so if the location information in your profile is currently wrong, please take the time now to change it. Congrats to Aaron Kanter for winning the May PLB! The winner of the May PLB race is none other than Aaron "gotcha55" Kanter, with a whopping 3447.81, the highest point total since we have been awarding the Monthly PLB award. It gives me special honor to announce this acomplishment, having met Kanter a while before his 4th place WSOP appearance in Aruba in 2004. We were playing a side tournament at the Westin with a horrible structure that forced some crazy action, and I got in with Kanter with AJ against his J9. The flop was (of course) nothing other than 999. Since we always remember our beats more than our suckouts, I'm ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Absolute Poker now included in the Rankings! Slugger, We would like to include every major online tournament site in our automated rankings, and as PocketFives grows we will undoubtedly add more and more sites to the list. Since we obtain all of our tournament results directly from the sites themselves, the largest issue we face in including tournaments in the PocketFives rankings is the sites' willingness to work with us in order to provide the data. -Riley Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Problem with PLB scores? I'm not entirely sure why your FullTilt non-cash was included (this problem should be fixed by the time you read this post so it no longer appears in your recent scores), but as for PokerStars, we are in a transitional period where we will start including all buy-in tournaments as long as the prize pool is greater than $10K.
