Re:Plugging Leaks
First,, if you are living off poker playing 1/2 and 3/6 on a 5K roll is flat out impractical.. Op you ran good over a few thousand hands and that ended and varience kicked in.. Tbh the swing you described could happen to almost person w/ basic poker knowledge to the best player in the world.. If you are a casual player playing w/ a 25bi bankroll is the bare minimum,, if you are making a living off it I would recomend 50bi.. The leak you have is not clearly understanding practical bankroll requirements and greatly underestimating the general varience that comes w/ the game.. I think alot of ...

Re:im terrible. plz just confirm
nothing really wrong w/ your line imo.. Your image, your opponents image and previou history w/ this villian are what really make this a flop cbet or not.. With that said I think your opponent would have to view you as a tight aggresive patient player in order to cbet this flop profitably

Re:Should you move up???
This maybe bad advice, as alot of people will natuarally focus on the higher stakes tables which creates an imbalence in your focus. Also If you get stacked on the 1/2 table and dubble up on the .5/1 table it is frusterating and may tilt you. I suggest playing a few less tables than normal, and having a set amount of buyins you are willing to use for your "shot" at 1/2, if you blow these build back up to this amount before you take another shot. Also, you say you crush .5/1, this may be so but it is a good idea to use a tracker program so you know your actual winrate after like ...

Re(1): This makes me so mad!
IMO betting he is the optimal play for the bigstack. Yes its unlikely he will loose with that big stack, but freak things do happen. By betting you out of the pot he is crippling you to a point of almost no return if you fold. Basically the worst possible situation for the bigstack is one in which the shorty doubles up, and MC wins the large side pot. By betting here the bigstack is greatly reducing the chance that this situation happens. I know the bigstack not getting a seat in this tourny is extreamly unlikely and he could have checked it down to try to end the tourny quicker, or help out ...

Re(1): How much does a good live 1-2 nl player make?
First figure out how many hands an hour your playing/averaging. This number is key as serious grinders measure sucess by BB/100hands rather than hourlyrate. Over a large sample size like 100k hands 3BB/100hand is consisdered good and from there the higher you go the sicker you are. I think some of the top cash players ie SBrugby could beat 1/2nl at like 9BB/100hands but no higher over lots of hands. Ok for example if your as good as Abba (obv all live players are lol) and ur running at 9BB/100hands. Say 50 hands per hour (if your very lucky.. could be as low as 25), and a bigbet at 1/2 is ...

Re(1): 50 NL bb/100
I would say 2-4BB/100 is solid, anything above that is crazy good. At this level its not tons of cash but if you can get a few more tables going it can become worth while. And I think 50K hands min to get a good line on your pokertracker numbers.

Re(1): 55R Bubble Situation
First of all I think you first have to ask yourself it AK, AQ, and AJ are in this players 3betting range' If there are I think you gotta reship like you did. If they are not I consider folding to avoid racing on the bubble. The key thing to understand is what his 3 betting range is here and make your decison based on this range. The reason you base your play on this range is because you have NO Folding Equity here and his calling range is huge. Your opponent is getting 4:1 odds and isnt folding here. The mistake your making is classifying this guy as someone who is capable or weakpassive ...

Re(1): 4th hand of a $22 180 man SNG
If this is his range KK+,JJ-99,AQs+,AQo+ yor have 58% equity. You already have about 1/4 of you stack in the middle. This is a really easy call, folding here is horrible imo. I think the above range is very accourate of a random in this spot in this tourny. Even if you remove the AQs and the pocket nines from his range you still have over 50% equity and are getting good pot odds

Re(1): Cash game hand versus shortstacker - how would you play it?
I think the mistake here may have been made in your line preflop. The way you played it is def standard and a solid line 98% of the time but Im thinking this could be a special situation. Lets evalute: -He is a very aggro shortstacker raising you BB on the button. - His raising range is huge, and his calling rage is also big. (I believe AK is way ahead of both) -Its just you and him no other players to worry about in the hand. -By doing the standard raise here it is likely he will call with a very large range of hands -When he calls he will have position on you, and you will miss the flop 2/3 ...

Re(1): Cash game hand versus shortstacker - how would you play it?
Ackward stack sizes here. I think I just check fold, you will snap him off in a way better spot if ur patient. cbetting any amount and then folding is just horrible imo, cbetting and then calling is also horrible.

Re(1): Am i beat here?
U have half your chips in the pot and have a set, the only thing that really beats you is another set, a floped straight or rivered gutshot straight. You def gotta call here and I think are beat some of the time. The problem is how you played the hand on the earlier streets to get into this spot. I think you gotta bet that flop and will ofter stack hands like 77-JJ, A6,76 etc.

Re(1): cash games
I just did 50k hands at this level last month and averaged 2.7BB/100.. I think this is decent considering I was playing 6-8 tables at once. But because of all the games my vpip/preflopraise was only at 15/11 which is tighter than optimal. If I got it up to a 18/15 I think I could do around 4BB/100..... but volume > winrate.

Re(1): $0.50/$1 NL CASH GAME FTP
Okay, the actual odds are this: On the turn when the rest of the stacks went in your villian Dick's AJ was a 2.7 to one dog against your 77. The pot was offering him about 2.4 to 1 odds so his call is -EV, but only slightly. On this hand you did put your villan and on a speicif type of hand and were able to get all your money in the middle as a small favorite. So from this simplistic analysis you played the hand okay. Here is the unfortunate part. Im not here to flame you or berate your play like others in this thread have. The bottom line is that just from looking at this hand it is clear ...

Re(1): possible to go from GoldStar/PlatinumStar to Supernova in 1 yr?
I just recently decided to quit tournies (when I only ever got goldstar twice) and play cash. I also am playing the 6max .5/1 games and am racking up the vpps. I play 5-8 tables approx 5hrs a day and take a couple dayz off a week. So far this month I have just under 9K vpps and hope to make platinum in a couple dayz. Basically what you need to do is add more tables!!!! volume is where the $$ is and the vpps are t. I'd rather 6 table at 2.5BB/100, then two talbe at 5BB/100 anytime, not to mention it is far easier. Starting January my goal is to earn 20K-25K vpps a month and get supernova @ ...

Re(1): .5/1 cash hand..opinions plz
The problem with reshipping it in on the flop is that Im only getting called by better hands. Weaker flush draws and aces will have to muck. Also Im not too concerned about giving free cards. The only concievable way I get burned by that is letting him catch a Jack, Ten for aces up.

.5/1 cash hand..opinions plz
Okay in some situations i know its better just to call when raising will just push out the hands you beat and build the pot for hands that crush you. In this spot I felt I was either dominated and just drawing to a flush or being bet at with weaker aces and or total air. Did I distort this concept and play the hand like a weak tight calling station' or is this really the optimal line with a poor result. Also could the line be good, but with a fold on the river instead of a call' (my hand was underrepresented and the pot odds were juicy) OKERSTARS GAME #13815902802: HOLD'EM NO LIMIT ...

Re(5): ICM experts pls help figure this out...
Agree the call was bad. However I disagree with the fact that Zpaceman says only calling with AA if profitable for the villian. Put me in his shoes I call with KK all day. Obv if the stacks were deeper it would be a fold but bottom line is that he has 10bb left and the short stack has like 5. If he folds KK and the SS doubles up hes in alot of shit and will have to get it in in not nearly as good a spot. I think Zpaceman distorts the concept of folding premiums to outlast the SS. When the SS is only one double up away and the stacks are this shallow calling with KK is a must. As for QQ if ...

Re(1): MTT discussion... leak?
Also keep in mind the effectivness of your bluffs/steals is tied into you playing your good hands in a similar way. By folding QQ in this spot observent opponents will eventually start restealing very liberally against you, a behavior you don't want to encourage. Seeing you call a resteal every now and then with QQ or JJ will remind them they run the risk of bluffing your when you have a hand. Basically there is hidden value apart from the fact that in itself it is a +EV call. If you win the hand your new big stack and fearless image will allow you run your table and abuse anysort of bubble ...

Re(1): calling open-push from SB with 30bbs and KQ
Ok he has pushed 4/6 times, so say he is folding the bottom 30% of all hands and just shoving the top 70%. Against this range KQo has 59% equity. Therefore making your call +EV. It has long been debated whether passing up slightly +EV situations in tournies to lower varience and take advantagde of better spots is correct. Some say yes, others say always push any equity in a tourny..(not including ICM, bubble type situations). I really don't know the correct answer but personally would have waited for the bubble to burst and then gambled against this maniac. Also, an additional consideration ...
