Party Poker Monster
With the prize pool growing everyday the partypoker monster tournament had reached 14 million dollars before partypoker stoped accepting transactions from US players. Only 1,000 players had qualified for the Monster Final and another 7,000 were expected to qualify between now and the tournaments start date. PartyPoker said that they would dispurse the prize pool to those who had qualified.... to do this they used the formula $14,000,000 / 8,000 players. Using this formula each of the 1,000 players who had qualified were given ~ $1,700. Clearly the problem is that only 1,000 players had ...

Re(3): How many P5'ers are still alive?
I'm out in 29th. After doubling up on a board of 7-8-3-4-2 and a player set me all in for my remaining 50k I called with A-T and doubled. I opened up and stole a few more pots making it to just over 200k when I got 99 in mp2 and made a small raise of just under 3x BB. the BB called and the flop came A-5-7 with 2 spades. The BB check raised me and I set him all in not believing he had an ace. He didn't, he had 5-7. The very next hand I got 99 again and raised to 4x BB after considering just folding out of position and a little steamy. The Button called (the player who doubled me when i made ...

86,600 for me after day1 and how I got there.
I started the day with MrSmokey1 in seat 1, Joe Cassidy in seat 3 myself in seat 4 and UH_BigTX (sp) in seat 6. Since the tournament started us with 200x BB ( in respect to a decent stack on stars at any given time being 20x BB) and I had position on two very strong players I decided to play a very lose agressive style. Very similar to how I would play a cash game. There wasn't a lot of action in the first 4 orbits of the day. MrSmokey1, Joe Cassidy and myself were all taking a lot of flops and playing small pot poker trying to establish ourselves as the table captain. Every time Joe had the ...

Re(4): 86,600 for me after day1 and how I got there.
Thanks for the support guys. I just got the table assignments for the day. The only player whose name I recognize is Marco Tranquillo. He has 57,000 (a big stack) and I know him to be an agressive player but again I have position on him and still have well over 100x the BB so I will continue with yesterdays style of play try to establish myself early as the table captain. I turned down a camera interview last night after play ended, not wanting to let anything go to my head. I haven't won anything yet and there is a lot of poker left to play but I will be bringing a large stack and a lot of ...

Re(2): Stars $530 100k added
Off to an early lead. Built a bit of a stack and picked up QQ against the agressive big stack on the table who entered for 4x another player entered the pot and I re-raised. The agressive table chip leader pushed and the 3rd player folded. I put the chipleader on AK and the other player on AX .. making e 60-40 in the hand .. QQ held .. but I just got aces while I was writting this and lost a 6k pot to QQ. Got it in preflop and he floped a Q. Hows everyone else doing '

When you decide to play a 1k HU match after a long night of drinking. And while you believe you are thinking clearly and as best as you could remember you had the chiplead. But you wake up to a screen that says "This Tournament Table has been closed" ... good game drunk me.

Re(2): Bellagio 5 Diamond
Adam Friedman is still in. I am sure you all remember the red-haired 24 yr old that cried on espn quoting " I played perfect poker for 3 days " after he chased down a K high flush draw and got there on the river against the A high draw and pair. I know him personally, im a student at IU and he recently graduated, despite how stupid he looked on ESPN he is good. He did well in WCOOP this year, bubbled in Tunica and the WSOP Circuit event at Ceasars. We will both be playing at the WPT PCA in January and he is my pick of the shorter stacks. -Roger G. / term_

Ok.. 58 buyins total.. so, everytime I rebuy and add on, thats 2 buyins .. divide 58 by 2.. think thats feasable '' Open your minds people. Mental health day, everyone is quick to say someone else is wrong before they stop to think.

Alright Guys, at-ease, I am not a high strung egotistical a-hole, never even draw attention to myself I play for the money, respect can come later ... There are a number of players that have rebough 40+ times .. highest I know of is MrSmokey1 ... I think he said 67 was his # ... I think premier, or michael128 might have that beat ... just thought it might be an intresting thread didnt mean to generate a bunch of hate. As far as telling br he was wrong ... he was and he tried to call me out when he was wrong ... gl all in the tourney. term_

Well Chris... guess you don't understand overlays as well as you think, clearly, if I am refering to the tournament as an overlay, I am planning on only putting one rebuy and add-on. If you divide the number of rebuys by entrances the average buy-in is usually 40-50$ . Multiply that by the 1000+ entrance (assuming you only put in 31$) and you have an overlay on your money. term_

Re(4): Massive 10R+ and more !
Yeah Mennas buying in for as little as possible obviously makes the tournament a great overlay... but I like going crazy first hour .. gets me tons of calls after the break, and its fun when your running good and drawing out... sucks when your in for a few hundred and end up with 5k at the end of the first hour.. but I have final tabled the 10R many times ... and it actually doesnt matter whether you have 5k (rebuy plus add on) or are the chip leader at the end of the first hour .. not at all actually.. have made final table both ways. term_

Re(2): Massive 10R+ and more !
The 10 rebuy is so much fun lol ... I bet someone will post a better score than me lol ... once BigSlick789, Premier and I were all 3 on the same table... I was in for 45 rebuys and they both had me way beat ... obviously if my BR would be hurt by this I wouldnt do it... I generally expect a lot of the chips I put on the table to come back to me after the break anyway. term_

What a huge 10$ rebuy tonight on stars ... deep stacks big field .. good luck to everyone else in the tournament with me ... one of the best overlays in poker. Curious .. what is everyones personal best on rebuys in the rebuys'' I have rebought 58 times in the 10 R+ , 37 in the 22+, I dont know what my most in the 30 or 50 R+'s are and 12 times in the 100R+ .. term_
