Re:Playing WORSE after reading Dan Harington? Harrington's obviously conservative; thus the book teaches you to approach that style. however, he does teach you how to take advantage of your tight image in certain situations. (which imo works against better players who actually pay attention compared to the microstakes players) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Any omaha h/l players anaylze this for me..... Almost like everyone else- fold pre. After the flop- I think this guy always has a2. Did you have any reads on opponent' He may already have 2 pair too if he had a hand like a245 or a248, so there is a chance you may get scooped. he also may have hands like aa2x or kka2 or a244 a255. point is, your hand is way too weak to call with and remember the blinds are still only 30 60 with a 2k stack. Fold and wait for a better spot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:One High Stakes Limit Omaha 8 tourney each month I'm going to send an email to both stars and ft petitioning for this either this afternoon or tonight. I'm obv not a well known player, so they might jsut laugh in my face and tell me to gtfo. It'd be awesome if we could get more support and a few well known players to cosign this so I could mention it in the email. Thanks again Posted in: Poker Discussion |

One High Stakes Limit Omaha 8 tourney each month I really wish there was a big limit Omaha 8 tourney at least once a month on Stars & Full Tilt. It seems like the only time you can play a big Omaha 8 tourney is during the WCOOP or FTSOP. I know there are sunday night tournaments sometimes, but they never get the huge fields that the nlhe sunday majors get(i think in part because the sunday majors have huge guarantees whereas the omaha 8 and horse tourneys don't). I think you can get a decent field if u slap on a huge guarantee and make it like a 300+20 buyin. Let me know what u think. Thanks Posted in: Poker Discussion |

WCOOP Limit Omaha hi/lo tourney Does anyone else feel like they'd want another chance at this tourney' I absolutely thought the structure was awesome, even though i busted out pretty early :( I'd love to play a limit omaha 8 tournament like this every week though. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Omaha Hi/Lo (New to the game) i think thereraise's advice is spot on about early play in an o8 tourney. but in a pot limit tournament, i think you'll actually want to play your aaxx or kkxx hands much more agressively as people will be folding to the blinds and antes as they get bigger. but i do agree that high pps are not that great to play in limit later on in a tourney. Re:Omaha Hi/Lo (New to the game) Basically what most people said. DON'T play these hands preflop. Even if you get a decent flop, where are you at in the hand' Someone might already have lo so he's basically freerolling while u need to draw just to win half the pot. What if you hit ur straight on the turn, but its a heart. Someone may have a flush, so your straight is no good for hi. While hands like 79910 may be playable in regular omaha, it's actually a pretty crappy hand in Omaha 8. Think of Omaha 8 as being a game of nuts. Constantly playing mediocre hands preflop is not a formula for success. You want hands ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Who's the best? BAND WAGGON VOTERS?! My theory is is that there is no such thing as a best player. If you have the top 100 ranked players in the world play in a 100 person tournament, the player who runs the best will win everytime because the skill level is virtually the same b/w these players. Re:how the fuck do you win> This guy went on to win the tourney for a cool 12k. What's even worse, is that he probably went to sleep last night thinking he was a good player. I'm done. I NOW know how people win these tourneys and obviously it's impossible to win when playing people like this. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re:Scotty Nyugen - a different opinion I don't understand why people can't understand the difference between playing poker in a backroom and playing at the final table of one of the most prestigious tournaments(as well as honoring one of the most respected poker players). If you don't understand why someone should be held to a higher standard in this occasion compared to what happens at your average backroom game, then I feel sorry for ya. (Also, I don't think that only pro's should be held to that standard, but anyone at that table in that event should be.) This thread tilts me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:hand with ranked player, am I a donk like he says? Isn't a c. bet on the flop with an ace out there and two hearts a better play than a check/raise(makes it look like you are protecting your pair of aces)' Just wondering because I've found myself in this situation before. Re:100rebuy hand AJK vs woltas You need to be more specific about how you were playing. How many hands have you opened' What kind of hands have you shown' Basically, what's your table image' If you had a spewy image, 99 is definitely a standard call especially when this all happens in late position. Re:Kudos to Below/ sheets bax group I personally think it is. What if the new player's playing style is completely different than below's' If the opponent is any good, he would have hand ranges assigned to below according to how he's been playing and if a new player takes over with a different playing style, it puts the opponent at a disadvantage. I could elaborate more, but basically all the information you gained on how below was playing/betting/raising with/ etc. is gone once a new player takes over. My answer is solely on a theoretical basis. edit: I thought that you meant another player taking over the account ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
