Re:Monitors verse Big Screen tv? This is very very wrong. I won't doubt the quality is acceptable to you on the TVs. Acceptable is pretty subjective. But to say a 32" LCD TV with 1080P resolution is the same quality is as a 30" LCD Monitor running 2560x1600 is simply incorrect. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Official Cake Poker Feedback Thread When Cake first started they suggested we "hold on to those gold cards..." b/c "...the series 1 cards will become very rare and valuable..." While occasionally there will be Gold Card events (or Daily Lottery) requiring an earlier series GC to enter, it doesn't seem like these older cards have the value that was originally suggested. Reward the long time customers with some serious value for those old GCs. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:30 " monitors I currently run a 3 monitor setup (30", 24" and 20" Dells). I've also used both the Gateway and Apple 30" displays. Honestly, you will not be disappointed with any of these three 30" monitors. I'd shy away from the Apple (and extra cost) unless the Apple specific features are of use to you. If you're looking for a computer monitor and playing lots of poker tables at once is the reason for this purchase I'd avoid the 42" LCD TV recommended by one person in this thread. The HD TVs might have a larger viewing area and be slightly cheaper, but their ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:why does NFL ban players from poker tournaments?? And Joey Porter got in trouble a few years ago for getting into a scuffle with another NFL player during a Blackjack game in Vegas. So blackjack is okay, but not poker tournaments' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Always add on - a mathematical solution I agree with your last statement that in all practical circumstances the add-on is correct value. My interest is more from a theoretical standpoint. Even though I've yet to see the actual math I think most people agree that there is a theoretical point where taking an add-on is bad value. Now that situation may rarely (never) occur, but it does exist. My question is whether the same situation exists on the other end of the curve. Say you almost bust on the last hand of hour one and end up with 1 chip. Your internet DCs before you have a chance to rebuy and by the time you get back on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:To add on or not to add on - a mathematical solution Could you link up your Excel file or whatever you used. I'd be curious to take a look. What did it look like for the very shortstacked players' I could see a situation where a very shortstacked player would be incorrect to add-on because their projected winnings are so small. Maybe the double value for the add-on is enough to offset that though. How does your math look in the case of the $5R with $25 add-on (for 5000 chips) on Stars' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:To add on or not to add on - a mathematical solution IF someone could do the math on this I'm pretty sure it would not be correct to always add-on. At some point it becomes -ev. I think one way to figure this out would be to replicate a SnG push / shove scenario. Take every remaining player in the tournament, their chip counts and an approximation of what their expected winnings are based on current stack. How does the add-on cost compare to your change in expected winnings' Of course this is a pain to do manually with just 10 players. The other problem is the expected winning approximation is less accurate for a 1000 person MTT than a 9 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Full Tilt Account Wiped Out Based on these conclusions it should also be added that the person who played on his computer (remotely or local) had enough knowledge to either delete the hand histories or turn off the record hand histories option. Probably not something a random hacker, w/o knowledge of poker sites, would think of. And not even something that should matter, right' If the hacker knows enough to delete the hand histories then they should know that FT will just send them via email upon request. What benefit does the hacker get by deleting these' Maybe buy a little time' I dunno, the zeros in the account are ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Grapsfan Article I can think of very few things more integral to poker integrity as a whole then knowing someone's cards. Sure delaying the final table potentially changes the tournament for 9 players. Showing hole cards potentially screws with Eric Siedel's (insert your favorite pro here) entire future poker career. Which is worse' How is this any different than the several online tournaments the were completed live' Was the integrity of those tournaments ruined' I'm sorry I don't buy it. Now will this actually help poker' Hard to say on that one. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Grapsfan Article This is not the first time the "integrity of the game" has been challenged. Though the poker world, specifically online, is much bigger now the uproar was much greater when hole cameras were first introduced. The majority of pros HATED this idea originally with several even attempting to hide their cards from the camera. Not much bitching now is there' This is simply another change. It will have pros and cons and several years from now we can actually judge whether it is a positive move for poker as a whole. Save me the "integrity of the game" nonsense though. We've ...
