Re:Serious Question About Life Direction (Make >100k RL But HATE It) Please Advise... It sounds like you need a new job. It also sounds like that job isn't poker... A lot of people hate their job. That's because working for other people sucks... but it sucks a lot less than being broke. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Poker on your CV It has no business on your resume. For college hire, recruiters (not hiring managers) sift through tons of resumes every day. They look for key words that would qualify you and key words that would disqualify you. They then pass you on to a hiring manager. Usually they are judged on the quality of the resumes they provide to the hiring manager. Unless they know for a fact that the hiring manager plays poker (and normally they would not know because they are not personal friends), they are not going to take a chance on you. Please do not put it on your 'out of college', first job ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Co-ed softball team setup advice 4 Solid Male Players: 3B, SS, CF, LF Why: The hardest hit balls with the longest throws in the infield will be hit to 3B and SS. Many of the long balls by RH hitters will be hit to LF and a good arm is key. CF can also help cover some of RF if necessary. 3 Solid Women Players: P, 1B, Rover Why: All utility positions and thinking positions. Usually 1 of the women will be an experienced first baseman and 1 will have been a pitcher. Thought is usually a bigger requirement than strength in these positions. Crappy Male: 2B Why: You can usually get away with having an inferior 2nd ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Need cooking help making quacamole for girl... My French friend very correctly stated "you eat with your eyes". He told me this after I saw him pour Dean's guacamole into a bowl and sprinkle paprika on the top, then let everybody assume it was homemade. If all else fails, have a backup plan. Buy the guacamole already made and sprinkle paprika on top of it. She'll think you made it yourself because of the way it is presented. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Sin Taxes? At what cost? And to whom? Sin taxes are ridiculous. Either something is wrong enough to hurt other people and should then be illegal or something is a personal choice and should exist in a regular consumer market. To declare something a sin and still say that it is legal introduces a level of gray moral judgement into the government that makes me extremely uncomfortable. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): I Think I'm Against Gay Marriage, Legally Speaking Slippery slope is a bad argument here. It means that you have to travel up the slope and ask the question "if we allow marriage, what's to stop gay marriage or incest'". The line of clear footing becomes gay marriage. The argument lies in your definition of morality. If you are saying that gay marriage is not wrong, but will lead to allowing other wrongs, then you have to address the other wrongs as they occur and allow homosexuals basic freedoms that you believe they should have. If you believe gay marriage to morally wrong, that's a different discussion, but doesn't appear to be the ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): Biggest chip lead you ever blew??? This was the writeup: Notable Internet pro Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson (who also plays under the name NoraFlum on PokerStars and UltimateBet) made the final table of the event. He entered the first full hand of the final table in second place, with $368,000 in chips. RunScreamin was the massive chip leader at the table with $720,000 in his stack. Both players were still alive when it got down to four-way play and had stacks in the $500,000s. Scythe27 was the chip leader at the time with $727,000 and Cory “Ozone23” Albertson was the short stack with just $232,000 when the big blind was at ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Will China surpass the U.S. as the top superpower in the 21st century Lots of very interesting points that I don't really agree with: 1) We have so many wonderful things, so nobody will ever surpass us: This is false. England felt the same way in the 18th century. 2) Wal Mart is to blame: This is false. Wal Mart is in China because they compete as a low cost leader. You cannot produce low cost goods in the American labor market. To remain competitve, they had to seek other means of production or they would have gone out of business. When your only option (and you have fiduciary responsibilities) is to be put out of business, going overseas is not realy an ... Posted in: Off Topic |
