Did you see how incredibly flat the payouts are' Youre really going to put your 2nd place stack at risk to go for the win when 1st only pays 33% more than 2nd' Heck thats half the differential that exists between 2nd and 1st in a 9m SNG. Any of you guys have a reason for disregarding ICM other than it just feels gross to fold AKs vs a wide range' Tyson I agree that most villains wont be shoving a range with hands ranked optimally, but at the same time he could have a minraise range along with a narrower shoving range (thats what id do here) I think we actually need to fold wider than eq because a. most villains dont have it in them to shove as wide as nash calls for and b. I assume were better than the field and the equity ICM is assigning us is lower than our actual equity. There is something to say for ICM undervaluing ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

how to play 53o from the sb His line definitely looks strong. I think with how short the effective stacks are hed really need to have a solid read on you before itd be a good line. Esp relatively early in a MTT where there will be tons of +EV spots later on. Posted in: Bad Beats |

how to play 53o from the sb You mean the call pre or the call on the turn' The call on the turn is a snap with pot odds. Pre is whatever, but he has a hand that can flop well and hes getting even odds on a call. I think 20bb effective is too short to splash around. The only way he can call profitably pre is if he thinks he can get you off your hand often enough, which i guess he tried to do here:p Posted in: Bad Beats |

Look at the first post. you have to adjust to the situation, that's poker. if everyone is playing "sub-optimally" then you have no complaints. if they are making the correct moves then you need to learn why and do the same. I am assuming the structure of the mtt dictates the "all-in poker" you are describing - adjust to it or play different mtts that have a structure more to your liking. Do poker forums hurt our chances of regulation? Tamiller, I think one of our problems is that there are two distinct factions that support online poker. You have the PPA types who try to work with lawmakers to pass a bill to regulate and legalize online poker. Then you have those that are libertarians that for non regulated free market online poker. Unfortunately most Libertarians are hardcore idealists, so even if the only way online poker is possible is to have it taxed and regulated, they will never sign on for that. Lock Poker purchase of the Cake Poker Network Gambling911 has a history or running with unconfirmed gossip, but gambling911 @gambling911 Lock Poker acquiring the Cake Network. Will be driving technology, marketing, player rewards. Leaving Merge gaming. Moving back to the US next week and was planning on grinding Lock while home. Guess i need to find a new skin:( No way Lock takes all or even most of their players with them to the Cake network. Do poker forums hurt our chances of regulation? Forums arent as big as those of us who frequent them would like to think. Even a giant site like 2+2 is going to be unknown to an overwhelming % of the people who play poker and even more unknown to people who could make legislation happen. The trolling you see going on has nothing to do with it being a poker forum. It has to do with it mostly being young immature people hiding behind the anonymity of computers. I could maybe see some people discouraged from working for legislation because theyve been trolled, but I really dont see any circumstance where the actual trolling will be used as ...
