Re:So how much is Phil Ivey worth -- taken from 8-31-07 article online ANYONE who has a penchant for craps and sports betting will almost always be broke, or on the verge of going broke. Phil Ivey has a notorious reputation for needing action, big time action. I would not surprise me in the least to learn that he was broke. However, being one of the top, if not the best poker player in the world along with guaranteed income (whatever the amount is, it's big) from FTP, he can always make more...... Re:I saw my first meltdown a brick and mortar casino Some Live Korean older men are have been nothing short of arrogant assholes in the tournaments i've played in Seoul. Guy constantly angle shoots his stack with forward movement, guy complains for a solid 2 minutes about people taking to long to make decisions, next orbit I shove a SS into his BB, he takes forever, then tables QJ as if he was making the biggest laydown of his life....... At the final table he is complaining of the Japanese players not speaking English at the table which is the rule, but the hilarious part is he's complaining while speaking Korean'''''''' And the nail ... SNG collusion on Pokerstars, got an email? Hello, PokerStars has become aware of two players who were working together in our Sit & Go tournaments to the detriment of other players. You were involved in at least one tournament with these players and as a result you may have been adversely affected. The players' accounts were closed and their funds frozen pending a thorough investigation, which is now complete. Fortunately the problem was identified quickly and they had only played in a few tournaments before the accounts were closed. In a case such as this it is our policy to confiscate the colluders' winnings or ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Pokerstars VIP vs FTPs Rakeback. I did some calculations when I was playing 78$ 6 man SNGs with 6$ rake to see what the rake back would be, the first time you achieve platinum or SN/SNE there is some lag time to accumulate FPPs if you don't already have loads of FPP sitting around. So the rakeback is less first time in... I think getting 27% right off the bat is a better deal, but there is more to consider as everyone has pointed out....I'd go with whatever site is your comfort zone / run goot on.... Just look at the bold parts, you prob won't follow the other parts, I did it for myself, not others.... ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Prop bet for first to supernova elite He already turned down DNA2RNA on a none volume bet. He stated that DNA2RNA had to 20 table or more in order for the bet to occur. I assume he knows that his edge lies in mass tabling and volume. This challenge doesn't sound like his style. As for a HIGH stakes SNG bet, why not bet BigJoe2003, he seems to be looking for action these days on 2+2. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:how to make supernova elite?? / I plugged in 3-6 for 35 hours a week multi tabling 10 at a time, this will get you 85K VPP a month, enough to scrape in SNE...I'm not a cash game guy, this seems a little unrealistic, but what do I know... Also, how many SNE cash game guys are there' The SNG guys are pretty famous in SNG circles, not sure on the cash guys' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Prop bet for first to supernova elite Taking a look at some numbers Let's say he has run awful for 4000 games, let's just say for this reply... so he grinds the next 4000 better, and then the final 4000 on an average of the two (He's a third of the way right now) IMO this is his realistic best case scenario. But like everyone, I've been wrong before.... First 4000 games at an ROI of 2% = 4400$ Next 4000 at 8% = 17600$ and final 4000 at 5% = 11000$ Totaling 33000$ So he ends up short and lost his prop bets and life for a month. However, taking into account his rake back 12000 games = 24000$ according to 40% ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Prop bet for first to supernova elite I think he stated that he would start at 3pm on February 4th. So that poses a problem in which Shark scope can only track whole days. So the games he played on the 4th before the official start time are a bit of a discrepancy. However, Stars says they can confirm his totals if he only plays 60s, which he stated he would. So we'll have to wait for his ( and the judges ) updates. That said, it's only about 500$ or so difference, but sure hope it doesn't come down to that. Currently I have him at around +500$ after about 2200 games, Imo it looks like he overestimated his edge in ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Are a lot of poker players arrogant?? One persons "creative play" is another persons "donkey play". The talkers I find are generally ppl who have just won a big tournament or finished deep in the money for the first time or have had a recent upswing and are brimming with confidence since all of their plays have worked out lately. Suddenly, when their plays aren't working anymore and they start losing hands, obviously it can't be them (they just won a big tournament, meaning their better than everyone at the table) it has to the donkey who just called them light or picked off their bluff. Re:Question to Full Time Poker Professionals?? One piece of advice I'll recommend... Money can always be deposited back on to the website. Therefore why keep your money on that website. Your BR doesn't need to be always on the website. Get that money into investments ASAP and let it grow. If it's just sitting there on a website with no interest, no possible way to grow then your losing out in the long run. Yes the market is shit right now, so you know what, dump the money into a Money Market fund where at least you'll get growth at the at a rate slightly better than inflation, The market will hit bottom, buy funds and ... Re:Is this a call with AK (SNG tricky stack sizes/dynamics) Guy has a mid pair if he shoves like that or perhaps AK or AQ...meaning he either doesn't want to play a flop because of over cards or he wants to get all 5 cards seen without decisions... Generally u shouldn't call on flipaments but the chance he might have AQ is there, go with your read and gut. Personally I call there everytime, play for 1st... otherwise what are you waiting for... that and ppl don't fold like they used to in SNGs when you steal blinds, everyone calls nowadays.... For every successful player, how many lose? I've read that 1/3 of SNG players show a profit, seems pretty high to me. Not sure about MTT and cash games... We are all aware of the top players and how much money they accumulate in poker (wonder how much they actually put in investments and banks') ... So, I was wondering about the bottom players, the whales that play for pleasure, the fish that can't stop and the complete degenerates that blow their whole paycheques... What % of a tournament would they make up, are there cash game regulars (sbrugby mentioned in an article that he has a "watcher" that tells him when certain players log ... Re(1): ICM Questions...Jennifear, other SNG People...from Step 3 I'd say 50% chance of making through to steal... If you get called, your screwed one way or the other with 3 outs, at best you could hope for KQ to call you and your a whopping 54~57% to win... You'll have 1300 in chips if the blinds bring you nothing and a chance to steal from the B or CO... Basically, wait for a better spot, if on tilt though shove away, I've seen worse plays work...
