Re:So What Would You Inscribe On Your Own Tombstone?

Re:Engagement Rings?
I can't believe I am going to say this but here goes............. 22 is young, very young. Please be sure if you're going to get married that it is for the right reasons and that youre both ready. It's easy to be young and in love. It's easy to feel as though this will never change. But life isn't always easy. Please be sure that you're both capable of getting through the really hard times before you make this type of commitment. Love is enough, but only if you are willing to work at it. Because there may be times ahead of you that you might not be fully prepared ...

This made me really think........?? for the guys
In another post this comment was made: "Nothing fucking hotter than an independant woman." Do men really find the thought of an independant woman and everything that comes with it hot'' Sure there are bonuses that come with a woman who can take care of herself, but there in itself also lies the problem.......she can take care of herself. This very well may mean that she will not come to depend on you for anything, including anything emotional. While many guys may find this a bonus, what if you actually start to care for her' Independant women can be a real find but normally this ...

Re:How often do girls get asked out?
I would have to disagree with you about more successful women not having trouble dating. This particular group of women (catagory I fall in) has little to no time to date. Though, I do agree that they are the more selective women because they do indeed know what they want, where they want to go in life and usually they know how to get there.....whether it is alone or not. But for the purpose of the post that was made originally, I based everything I said mostly off of looks. If age is included with looks along with success or failure in life then things would change up a bit.

Everyone has baggage....and I bet there's a free clinic where you can get help with it savvy. We have them here in MO so I'm sure there are some in NY too :)

Re:How often do girls get asked out?
Very true Dig....If a guy would like any sort of a shot, be it for just a plain date or the possibility of something long term, the guy needs to make an effort and stand out from the mundane and ordinary. At the very least it will give him better odds of her saying yes if she feels as though he's genuine. This certainly matters to me.

Re:How often do girls get asked out?
When I was in college I recall that my sorority sisters who were just drop dead gorgeous complaining about how they were hardly ever approached by guys, unless the guys were drunk. Guess they needed a lil liquid courage....point is for college chicks this is how I would have to rate things...... a. probably once a month, and more than likely by someone who looks just as bad as she does and he obviously knows her....girls in this catagory, imo only get asked out by guys who know them. b. & c. these girls i will rate in the same catagory.....its like the lower middle of the road girls ...

Re:Getting paid to listen.......
Purpose....nope, there is no purpose to it at all. Not a brag post, most affirmatively a rant. No youre not supposed to discuss anything, no need to even post a reply, unless you choose to. I'm just tired of lurking. It's been a year and a half and I dont even have 100 posts. So, for whatever it's worth (probably less than 2 cents), I chose to say something. Might be stupid or dumb....doesn't matter....just finally felt like actually saying something that I was thinking.

Getting paid to listen.......
Sounds easy enough. Thought it would be simple. The truth is, most of the time it's listening to people piss and moan about mundane crap that means absolutely nothing. So what the lady at the grocery store didn't say "Have a nice day". WHO CARES''' I guess I'm supposed to care. When in reality I would really like to look at a few of these people who have nothing better to do with their time than to complain about total bullshit and say, "STFU, are you kidding me' This is what you wanted to come to therapy about' The fricken lady at the grocery store'" But ...

Re:Dating after a divorce......
Failure.....great word, fits the topic perfectly. Though I'm not a negative person I have felt this way. Probably got past the blaming myself issue about 2 months ago, lol. Hopefully the I don't give a shit part comes next, because I do worry what others may think. Funny part is, where the rest of my life is concerned I don't care at all what others think. I feel as though my issue with dating is that I got burned (married 10 years) and I don't want it to happen again. I totally get now why some women are so picky.....
