This is a great idea. I would for sure play this tournament if it had a 40k or more guarantee.

I understand your frustration Cigardad, but I have a hard time believing what you say to be true. And believe me, I have been through runs like you are talkin about and have noticed it seems after a cashout that things slow down, but I don't think there is any merit to the theory you have. I am gonna give it a try tho to see if I have instant rampant success on a new account, and I hope you're right.

This is horrible KGB, I like/respect u as much as anyone in the online community, and I hate that this has happened to you. I am now officially done with AP, glgl with getting any kind of reparations. And for the record, I thought u were the Grinder when I hopped in to play u heads up the other night, that was hilarious

Re(4): F live poker.
You want to talk about a grind, I played a 2500 event at the Bike in LA yesterday that started at 415pm. The tourney director insisted we play til the final table, and we ended up playing until about 6 am, unfortunately I busted 12th at 530am. I didnt get to sleep until after 7 this morning, and I am now playing sunday tourneys today(not too well i might add) Live tourneys are no doubt a grind, and the people who play are often life-donks, but you will never see worse play than in big buy-in live events, even 10k's. Thats why people play the live circuit

Re(2): Whats the highest ranked hand you've open mucked?
I have folded 1010, 99, 88, etc... when UTG or UTG +1 or 2(if it is a tough table). And get ready to flame away, last week in the Warm-up on Stars, I open mucked AK off UTG early on. My reasoning for the AK laydown was that there's nothing in the pot pre, and at some tables(including the one i was at OBV) even a hand like AK isnt worth a lot OOP when theres no money in the pot. This is one reason why I will fold strong hands in EP, the other reason I will lay strong hands down in EP when folded to me is when there are a lot of tough players behind me and I dont want to play a mid-pair or ...

And OBV good luck to JC, not like he needs or it anything thanks to these sick moves he pulls. The Spaniards clearly are afraid of the self-proclaimed Greatest Mexican Poker Player in the world, and I would be too.

Re(2): What music do you listen to when you play?
Rage Against the Machine is always good to the aggression going, but I gotta say that JeffBeesdat's list covers a pretty good amount of the range of music i like to listen to. (High and Dry is the tits) I also like to toss in some random rap and alternative music, plus a lil bit of gay type music too.(a couple people know what I'm talkin about) And I'm gonna let you guys in on a secret, Led Zeppelin= Best Final Table Music ever... P.S. One of my friends, whom I will allow to remain nameless, likes to play "Mama Said Knock You Out" and shadowbox when he gets to the FT LOL

Re(4): I don't think i have the mental fortitude for MTTs
The Psychology of Poker is great, and even tho it is more aimed for limit holdem, there is a great book written by a psychologist call Inside the Poker Mind. These two are must reads along with Barry's book. And a piece of my own advice would be that even if you are having a sick downswing, try to examine your game even harder than normal and really look to make sure theres not something you can't improve. I have experienced several sick downswings over the last year, and like you said, I was getting my money in good a significant amount of the time and still losing. I have found that one way ...

Shannon Shorr is as nice of a guy as you're gonna meet in poker, he is basically an Alabamian Teddy Bear. And he is also very right when he says most Spaniards suck at poker, cause lets be honest, most Spaniards are garbage poker players, and anyone that has played a lot with Spaniards knows this. Plus, Shannon's blog owns,

Re(4): barry greenstein question
Barry is not rich, he'll tell you that himself in his book. He OBV makes money in cash games, but he is not "loaded" or "independently wealthy". The reason he joined Team Pokerstars is b/c he couldn't afford to keep donating his tourney wins to charity, its just too expensive to play all the tourneys he does and donate all the money to charity. Don't get me wrong, its not like Barry is poor, he's definitely well off. However he's not made of money like it may seem...

Re(3): Getting shoved on every time you raise:
I didn't know you were opening so small. That changes things, its an obv laydown with QJ right there of course. If you're opening that small and having success, than you can afford to keep opening marginal hands and folding, but if you get punished 3 or 4 times in a row, you should gear down and wait for a hand b4 you raise again.

Re(1): Getting shoved on every time you raise:
That all depends. if he's shoving on you EVERYTIME, than you should be calling with almost anything you open. What I mean by this is, if it is to the point where he has been shoving everytime you open, you should not be opening unless you are willing to call this shover's all in. If you know the guy is very likely to shove on you, then it is retarded and unprofitable to open any hand you're not willing to go with (when you are fairly short-stacked) If you have a manageable stack and it doesnt hurt you much to lose that opening raise, then you can open and fold comfortably cause you'll be ...
