Re:What to do with Large Payouts!? 10k+
We just learned about this in tax class (in my second year of law school). Cash it out and claim it, pay the taxes. If you do the two 5k checks a week apart, it is still a felony. Believe it is called a "structured deficiency" meaning you are structuring your payments to aviod paying taxes. If the government finds out or audits you, which I dount they would, you will be guilty and not headed to a white collar federal prison with conjugial visits, but federal pound me in the ass prision. Pay your taxes.

Re(3): Would you guys have played this differently?
After the flat call on the flop, he either has an eight or a two. At this point though, it is tough to play it all in this early because if he has a two you are screwed. I like checking the turn here and then making the decision after the river bet (which he will do). Checking the turn prevents him from check raising, and keeps the pot small enough that if he makes value bet at the river, it is small enough to call and see if you are good.

Re(1): Thinking about quitting poker...
I wouldn't quit the game forever. Take a break for about 6-8 months and think about it. Read, watch, and talk to good players. Put $50 into Star after the break and play small, get some confidance and you will be fine. I was in the same spot, quit for 8 months, then when I turned 21, deposited $50 on stars and qualified for the WSOP ME. If I can do it, you can too.

Re(4): WSOP Bubble situation, What would u do..
In a situation like this, a limp might not be a bad play. You could see a free flop without putting yourself at risk. Also, since you have raised 6/7 buttons, the big and small blind may think you have a big hand here and are limping in hoping to get raised. I like the limp also because you can get away from the hand if you need to. The fold isn't an option because you are kinda short and could use chips. Moving all in cold could work because your hand is good against randoms. Best move here though is the limp because of the deception it creates.

Stars depositing using Visa gift cards
Haven't figured out if this works yet but I figured I would bounce the topic off some posters to see if anyone has had any success using this tactic. In the supermarket near my house they sell Visa debit gift cards which supposedly come with unrestricted use anywhere VISA is accepted. The cards come in increments of 25,50 and 100. Has anyone used these cards to deposit money into their Stars account' I would like to know before I spend 200-300 dollars on cards. Any feedback would be great. Thanks in advance.

Re(1): limping from the SB
Its not a bad play since the M value is so high. If you are playing at the lower level SNGs, if you hit the flop, you will be able to stack some weaker opponents. I don't recommend limping from the SB if you are someone who can't get away from a hand. If you flop top pair with a 6-2 off suit, someone with a high pocket pair that limped (like 99, 1010, 88) is crushing you on the flop. If you are good enough to get away from top pair then you can limp hoping to hit. If not, then don't limp.

Re(1): negreanu on PAD
One point I would like to make is how different players are at the table and away from the table. First and foremost, Eric Molina is one of my best friends. He came off bad on the broadcasts, but away from the table, he is a very nice, quiet individual. Obviously if he could use a tactics that got one of the best internet players (Shaniac) off his game, it is worth it. I don't know about Daniel, but I think you have to disregard table talk. I believe these pros do everything for a reason, and this may be a big part of Daniel's game. Lets see how he talks to Mike when they are shooting hoops ...

They have live SNGs...mid buy in sturcutre is terrible...not much better for larger buy-ins. For big buy in MTTs hit the Wynn and Venitian for some 300s and 500s. Good structre, competition is so-so. GL in Vegas

Re(1): Playing 3/6 at B&M tonight-- need advice
Tight play is a good strategy. Limping with low pairs in position and suited connectors or paint suited isn't a bad idea since you can get in for cheap and will be getting the right price to make your draws in most hands. Also, if you hit your draws you will get paid off. Don't be afraid to splash around in pots with position with hands like K10 suited. GL tonight...hope you win some big pots.

Re(1): Deep Stack Tourneys
It is tough to come up with a clear cut TAG or LAG strategy for a deepstack tournament. I believe that in these tournaments, you can actually "play poker" and by that I mean playing the mind games that make this such a beautiful game. I generally like to play tight simply because that is how I normally play any tournaments, however, when you have as many chips and time as you do in the deepstack tournament, you really have the chance to switch gears. I am a proponent of making plays that will condition other players to make the same plays back at me. I really like to raise on the button a ...

Re(1): A couple of Limit HE Questions
I used to play a lot of limit hold'em before playing tournaments, so I think this should be some good advice. I like the fact that you are raising with your big hands when coming in. Aggression is the key when you have the good cards in low limit hold'em. In the case of the first hand, raising the river when the third Q hits is not a smart play. You showed aggression preflop, and on the flop. The check on the turn was good because the flush card hit. The only hand that the player to act first can lead with is a hand that is better than yours. You need to just call in this situation. If he is ...

WCOOP Main Events
Does anybody know if the larger buy-in WCOOP events on Stars this year are going to have a different structure from their regular tournaments (e.g. more starting chips, longer rounds, etc,) If anyone has any type of answer to this question that would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance and have a great weekend.

Re(2): AK in first 4 levels of an MTT
I don't think you can just call with your AK in this position. I mean technically you could, however, given the situation and the oppontent, and the hand, Ak being a strong one, I like the move in preflop here because it puts your opponent to the test and it takes away the chance that you could get outplayed on the flop. I know in late stages of a tournament, most players like moving in with AK because if you are short stacked, it is to your benefit to see all 5 cards and not get outplayed when you flop notihing. Since this player had been raising a lot, moving in here is a good move because ...

Am I Overplaying QQ?
Last night in all three tournys I was in I kept running in to AA vs. QQ all-in preflop' Once was fine with me...but 3 times got to be a bit much. The question I have is, am I overplaying this hand' I know it is good, but should I be running in to AA this much with this hand' I know some of the situations and betting can tell me if I am beat, but am I just overplaying this hand, or getting unlucky' Thank you in advance and I hope to see you all at the final table.

Re(1): did i make the right play with QQ on the big blind
I think in this situation, raising here, regardless of what the raise wavs, you were bound to get all the money in with AK. Chances are, if the limpers is limping in with AK, he is hoping to get some action from a late raiser to come over the top...plus the fact that if he sees you raising in to a large field, especially with this much money in the pot, if you raise and he moves in on you, he is getting great odds on the call if he thinks that he is at worst 2-1. The best play would here might have been to simply call and take a flop here without committing too many chips. If an A or K flops ...

Thank you very much for the advice. I am going to give it a shot tonight when I play. If your interested, I will be playing in the 7:45 $10 NL on Stars, the 8:30 $20 NL, and the 9:00 PL on Stars if you want to come and see how I'm doing. I use the same name on Stars as my post name so hopefully I can final table and you can come cheer me on. Once again, thank you, and if you think of any other valuable advice I would love to hear it.

Tourny Stats
I have been playing quite a number of tournaments on Stars recently and have been cashing consistently, however, it seems that I just can never get over the threshold to have a significant cash in a tourny. I play the smaller buy in tournys like 10,20, and 30 however, I would like to final table in one of these tournies and get a boost to my bankroll. I see players like pbdrunks and JohnnyBax who build up nice stacks throughout the tourny and are emphatic chip leaders by the time the bubble hits so they can easily make it to the big money levels. My question is, what type of stats do good ...

Stars 1R + 1AO question
I plan on playing in the PokerStars 1 rebuy and 1 add-on tourny later tonight and i was just wondering if I could get some input from some players that play in it on what the best strategy for the rebuy period is since it is limited. I have played in rebuy tournys before and I always rebuy at the beginning of the tourny when there are unlimited rebuys however, I was wondering if I should rebuy at the beginning of this tourny, or just play with the initial 1500 and then look to either double up in the small blind rounds or bust and rebuy, or rebuy at the beginning so I have a deep stack in the ...

Re(1): Good Read Video
I love the video. Keep them coming. To answer your play, I would have check-raised the flop and seen what he did. If he comes over the top of you there then you can make an easy laydown and you might win the pot right there if he folds. If he just calls the check raise and you are pretty sure that he has AK there, then depending what the turn is, lead out big into the pot so that he will have to lay down AK if he doesn't fill up on the turn. If the turn is a Q though, you can check and fold the hand.

What play do you like better?
Although this situation has never come up when I was in a tourny the question I would like to pose to you is this: You on the button with 32 players left in a MMT. Top 27 cash and you have an average stack of 11k with blinds at 400-800. You pick up KK on the button. The SB and BB both have you covered and everyone folds to you. Would you just call the BB on the button or would you make a standard raise to 3-4X BB' Just want to get your thoughts on this and how do you think the hand would play out'
