RIP Ravi Shankar
The Concert for Bangladesh was Ravi's idea, it was the first massive concert for charity, which obviously has been emulated a million times now.. Featured a super sick lineup of course, Harrison, Dylan, Clapton, etc.. I have the dvd and still watch it every now and then. Ravi's section with Ali Akbar Kahn is really awesome: If you're impatient, you may want to skip to 3:30-4:00 when they really start getting into it, it does start out slow. RIP

Yeah, its been a few months since we had one of these threads.....
Don't understand the pitty hate. My good friend has one and he's such a big baby, he's actually scared of a very unintimidating little 14 year old collie-blue heeler cross that's 1/3 of his size. It's too bad that some people don't know how to train a family dog properly.

“Online Poker Mindset” Hypnosis Mp3, reduce tilt and improve focus
I've always been skeptical about hypnosis. Based on all the great reviews on 2+2, I bought the "online poker mindset" from Elliot. The mp3 is basically a guided relaxation to help you completely relax and focus prior to your session. Yesterday I used this for the first time and, funny enough, I got KILLED at the tables. I played about 20 MTTs and cashed small in 1. I lost something like 10 straight all-in showdowns at one point during the session. It was the worst session I've had in recent memory. All my deep runs blew up in my face, etc. Of course, I'm not here to tell you that them mp3 ...

do i have to play fancy with all the 3 betting and re raise bluffs in MTT to win ?
I thought a few months ago that since everyone tries to be super kewl and aggro these days that a solid style with the occasional light 3b/4b/cold4 would do rly well..This style has done super well for me on every site but Stars. Solid/tight play just doesn't accumulate fast enough in large field MTTs. You'll just end up getting coolered or bad beat by some maniac who has more chips than you, sooner or later. Can you profit in large field MTTs on stars playing tight/solid' Absolutely, but unless you run very well, you won't profit much. In low-mid stakes MTTs, people just don't exploit super ...

Getting max value out of sets against competentish players when deep?
Fight for more pots in general' If you're rarely/never bluffing/semi-bluffing with your strong lines then it's pretty easy for them to get away. Some special players will pay you off post if you just have aggressive pre-flop stats, even if you don't balance your strong lines at all post, but vs. most in 215s you'll have to be less predictable post-flop. For example, in h1, if we know our opponent is c-betting a decent amt we can take this line with our sets/2p, strong draws (QJ,J8), gutshot/overcard combos like KJ, and occasionally backdoor draws like AQdd.. Good hands to turn into bluffs ...

making pot odds calls from the blinds in MTT's
It depends on your opponent's range (opening frequency in x position), opponent's aggression/skill level, and on your ability to play your hand out of position vs. the opponent. Against someone who plays passively in position, or face up, or whatever, you can definitely peel if you feel like you're gonna find a way to win the hand reasonably often. Obviously stacks are a factor and you'll need good implied odds. Against a strong player it's not highly recommended as you'll get owned a lot OOP.

AQs 29bbs facing nitty 3x (11bbs)....
It's 11bb effective This hand would be much easier if he just jammed, in which case we snap re-jam.. I'm assuming the guy isn't very strong based on his 3x, as shoving and minraising are the only good options for him if he's not folding. If he's bad, there's a good chance he just doesn't even understand that he needs to be open shipping 11 bbs in a spot like this, so I'm not sure he's just jamming AJ/KQ, etc.. Not sure there's any point to 3b small, as we shouldn't really have a 3b/f range here. I think we have to jam.. 11/5 can be misleading also.. There are tables where I've had tighter ...

Selling Shares for Upcoming Live 1k-2.5ks --> Long term >35% ROI Player
Hey guys, My name's Sam. I've been playing online for over 8 years and have a ton of live cash experience. I've played less than 100 live MTTs but have a few ~2k wins in Vegas and one tracked 2nd place in Reno last year for 5.4k in a $400 bounty tournament. I'm headed to the East Coast for WSOPC AC, Foxwoods, and the Borgota Spring Open. Possibly more.. I'm going to be putting myself 100% in all events

Bodog Software up date..
I definitely think the s/w is an improvement. The racetrack theme is decent. Now, Bodogs to do list: Tolerable sounds, or at the very least, the ability (like in the old s/w) to make it "Alerts only" SCREEN NAMES! I have a name yo, its not "player 0046" I have to say though, fucking with people in chat is kind of funny. Didn't see if anyone posted this, but if you have something written in the chat box, and action goes on you, your text gets wiped out. blast.. edit: apparently also if a new hand is dealt'

Bodog Software up date..
I used to work for Bodog in the Poker and Poker Security depts. and I certainly know for a fact that Poker is far from their priority. When I was there, basically EVERY issue (i.e. disconnects, s/w crashes, and on and on) was well known by everyone but we kept making excuses because, although the issues had been presented to the "higher-ups", nobody was willing to invest any money in fixing it. I talked to managers, etc, arguing that a reasonably small amount of money to fix the issues would add to a really nice boom in traffic eventually... to no avail, obviously. They were just not at all ...

Quality or quantity in MTTs
I think it's definitely important to find the "sweet spot", where you're playing a good amount of tables and still fairly well engaged. ( can still take notes, etc ) For me, I can play 16-20 tables, but I like to stick to 8 or so. Everyone would probably get their highest ROI if constantly 1-tabling, so obv the more you play, the more you "compromise". (although some just get bored and spew 1-tabling) My advice would be to review your play after sessions, and when you're playing a lot of tables, see if you think you're missing any spots, or if you make any bad plays based on having a lack ...

Kaspersky Internet Security
I have had it before and found it light and effective.. Just got it again from the VPP store myself for my new PC, clicking buttons and trying to spend VPPs. Only 1 PC license and the "cost" is 16 GBP which iirc is 30+ USD. Might just be better to go buy the actual product with 3 PC licenses and get better value from the VPPS buying something else..'

pot n poker
I'm pretty comfortable playing baked but I've smoked for like 10 years.. sigh.. I'm thinking of doing an experiment to compare my high vs. sober game.. To agree with some others, it's def. dependent on subject, as are other things like driving stoned. People that rarely smoke probably shouldn't drive baked, whereas people that have smoked a ton are like normal. (well, pretty much :P)

looking for new site..canadian
It depends what hours you play.. I'm on the west coast so from like 9am to 1 there are a few ok tourneys on 888. From like 3pm on there are some ok tourneys on Merge, Bodog. Obv the first 2 are euro sites so our primetime is off peak, and for the US friendly sites our primetime is peak. Bodog doesn't take Instadebit but they do eCheck that works fine. It's more direct than ID, obv. Edit: Also, ID gives you lame conversion rates.. I get screwed every time I c/o decent amounts with them.

Live Tournament Hand Advice
As a general rule of thumb, you want at least 15BBs on a reship such as this one to induce enough folds to make it profitable. If he's opening absolutely 100% including 72o and is really bad this shove may be marginally +ev with 12 BBs, maybe 11, but with 9 BBs you are limited to a) open shoving, and b) shoving when you're sure you're ahead of the person who's acted in front of you's range, because you're getting called 100% of the time. Yes he should be opening the button reasonably wide, but in general due to button vs. BB dynamic, we don't much respect at all. If you really think he's ...
