depends on the line for your initial bet. if it was -3 or more for the steelers, you cant hedge right now.

cool idea except I think discarding the largest cash is not cool, especially when the sample size is small already. What does that accomplish' I am not ranked but I would love to follow this contest if it gets going.

Re(1): Did I play both these hands wrong? Discuss
I think it is not that awefully difficult to get away from either hand here. 1st hand, you see a lot of action on this really safe looking rainbow flop. You pushed way too soon. Reraise and see where you are at, then if he pushes reevaluate based on the pot odds. The key here to me is that he minraised preflop from UTG. To me, this indicates a medium pp or a hand like QK, most of the time I have found at these limits. So, what elese could he really have here unless you think he would try to play AA-QQ w/ a min raise UTG which most people don't do but some do I suppose. 2nd hand: Scary, ...

Re(1): Why aren't more people playing at WPEX?
I refuse to deposit until they fix the glitch with hand histories. If you request a hand history, it will show the bettor's hand even if the bet was uncalled and the bettor mucked. That is terrible in my opinion. I was told by their support that they are in the process of doing a lot of updates on the poker room and the hand history glitch will be corrected in due time. Also, 100% agree about pacific. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO weak players but way too slow for me to deal with. That plus it kept folding me on my blinds when I had autopost checked.

Re(1): Interesting analysis of $11 DS vs. $16 turbo SNGs
Well against my own advice from earlier, I played another one just now. Unless the ones I am in are outliers, I must admit the play is much much much much much worse than a normal $16 turbo. I got heads up again for the 3rd of 4 times I have played these and finally won one. At the final table I looked up sharkscope on the last 7 players and only 1 of the 6 was a winning player other than myself and most were bigtime losers. The average VPIP during the final table until I busted was 48%!! Unreal! The guy who busted me called off 2/3 of his stack to my all in push w/ JTo. I had Q5s and the ...

Re(3): Interesting analysis of $11 DS vs. $16 turbo SNGs
Your sample is meaningless. My sample of 675 is still too small to be dead on but it is a much better reflection. I would suggest that no matter how bad the competition, you can't maintain that win rate at the first table nor that ROI but congratulations on the well timed heater ;-). On the other hand, I agree that it is possible to have a higher ROI than my little model suggested. How high, though, is debatable. My sample size for these is 3! All I have done is guess at what I may expect. In the three I played, I got heads up in 2 at the first table and took 1 bad beat and lost 1 race so no ...

Interesting analysis of $11 DS vs. $16 turbo SNGs
Ok, so lately I have been doing some thinking about the profitability of playing $11 DS to the Stars million for $T vs. $16 turbo SNGs as bankroll builders. So today I am sitting in an Endo lecture and decide to run some numbers for comparison. The gray fields are fields I had to fill in. I generated the numbers based off of the 675 $16 turbos I have played. I have not played many of the DS's so I tried to extrapolate my estimates based off of my results in the 16s + 1.4% for the 9th player being eliminated + 0.3% for my edge. Bottom line, based off these numbers it is much more profitable to ...

Re(1): I'm a rookie , but an idiot?
Well, personally I wouldnt be leading out with a pot sized bet on a 89T flop. Then as I understand it you have to call 2576 into a 5276 pot. Realistically, you can't expect your 3 Ace outs to be good here. Only a diamond will win this pot for you. Also, with this much action, a Td may not even be an out b/c it could fill someone up. So you have 9 outs and if you push now you are getting a 1.86:1 chance of hitting your flush by the river while the pot is offering you over 2:1. If you have 8 outs it is 2.17:1 of hitting by river. I think you have to call but you shouldn't have bloated the pot ...

Here is a perfect example of variance and just what it can mean in my opinion. Below are my 6.50 turbo stats. The play at the 16s is noticeably better but not 5x better like my ROI difference. Responses: 1. These stats come from aleomagus's spreadsheet, which is awesome for SNG tracking. It imports right from pokertracker or you can type in results yourself. 2. I am finally going to invest in SNGPT as I think my bubble play, while aggressive, is sub-optimal. 3. I am currently a member of cardrunners as I have been transitioning to cash games more and more but I am so busy with school I don't spend enough time studying. 4. I have read HOH 1 and 2, 3 is coming from FPPs soon hopefully as is NL Theory and Practice. 5. I am going to throw my laptop in the river if this break even ...
