Being emotionally invested in your team is a lot like being in love with a shitty woman. They pretend to care about you as they take all your money and time, then when the next better thing comes along they don't give a shit about you and cheat on you or they stop fucking you (or move the franchise to a different city, or not invest in the team to create a contender because they can make as much money with a shitty product once you are hooked).

I don't get all the love for John Oliver as the Daily Show host. I've been enjoying him, and still enjoy the show, but don't think he's been better than John Stewart. I feel like he is overselling it a bit (or maybe I just don't like British accents).

Adults living with their parents. I honestly don't understand. (Northeast US thread)
When I was there I was grinding a bunch on Full Tilt, and often I would stay up till 7 or 8 am grinding and drinking. It was always funny when they were awake in the morning, and I would walk downstairs to get something to eat and talk to them just absolutely hammered. Somehow those two months were my best two months of online poker I had ever had, and have ever had since. Guess it was the free beer.

When I was 26 I lived with my parents for 2 months. It was a set amount of time (I had already bought a plane ticket for 2 months after, and did it just because I wanted to spend more time with my parents before going away for a while). For me it was no problem to have buddies over to watch a game or have a dinner party or whatever, as my parents are pretty chill and almost all of my friends get along with them well enough for the amount of interaction that goes along with such thing. The big problem was having girls over. I didn't push it too much since it wasn't worth it for such a short ...

The difference between the two things is huge though. I'd maybe chip in 20 bucks for the entertainment value of that (if he wanted to do it, of course, which he doesn't). I'm assuming putting up a percent has at worst a small neg EV (and most likely pos EV not even counting thread value EV) Hey Fou, do you have Party Poker' Would you be able to do the same thing where I transfer you and give him the cash in Vegas' If this works, I'm in for 1%.

I read a pretty interesting book a few years ago. It was written by a guy who worked for a company that would buy out people's lottery winning with a lump sum (at first, the lottery itself wouldn't do that, they would just give you the annuity). Has anyone else read it' trying to think of the title right now

Interesting that you say that considering Louisville is playing tonight. IMO one of the most interesting things about UL and UK fans (and the rivalry) is that the majority didn't go to either school, and the adult fan bases are way bigger than the student ones.

Ron Paul announces home school curriculum.
The parent doesn't have to be a better teacher than the teachers in a high school for home schooling to be a better option. One of the biggest things is that the parent must be a good facilitator. The parent can help guide the student to learn on his own (through videos/books/online resources/etc) in subjects that the parent doesn't have a high knowledge of. Also, in specific instances a tutor can be brought it when necessary. The negatives of not having an expert in the field teaching can easily be outweighed by the many other advantages of homeschooling. Also, about someone mentioning ...
