Article: Peter King to Introduce U.S. Online Poker Bill "Shortly"
Comparing a game such as poker, a beautiful game of strategy, psychology, and luck, played in many different variants, with an international pool of players, with 2-5% rake, player rewards, and ultimately, a game where close to 25% of all the players will make a long term profit (some of those earning their livlehood), to lottery games, a complete random game that take 30 seconds to play, and has a 40-50% rake, insuring NO ONE wins long term except those who buck the 1 million-1 odds and makes huge score, is offensive to anyone who has an IQ over 70 (thus eliminating most politicians).

Article: Ultimate Poker Launches First Legal Online Poker Site in Nevada
Why on earth would any poker player with an ounce of dignity or self respect (qualities you must lack) hope that the scummiest low lifes on the planet, the Nevada gambling and hotel cabals, would succeed after the AGA's hit piece on Poker Stars to the NJ regulatory board' These are the same people who just last month tried to get sports betting kiosks banned in Vegas taverns, so that the magnates can fleece every sports bettor in the state, instead of the 98% that they are now. This is the problem with America. Special interests use their political influence to quash free market success, use ...

Article: Ultimate Poker Launches First Legal Online Poker Site in Nevada
Breitling says "We are proud to be the first company to deliver legal and secure real money online gaming to poker players". Really' PokerStars was about as secure as it gets, and it was legal, so what he should have said is, We're the first online poker company that the DOJ won't attempt to shakedown. I'm going to enjoy watching this fiasco fall flat on it's face. Nevada online poker is a joke, and it has no chance to succeed. Can't wait for PokerStars to be up and running in NJ.

Article: Who Are the Top Online Poker Players from Portugal?
Too bad not a single mention of Janekaaa, a heads-up sit and go specialist who has quietly made over 500k in profit (not including an additional 100k apx. rakeback) the last 4 years by grinding out $100 heads up sit and go's year in and year out. Never looking to move up to $300, $500 ,or $1k matches against higher level competition, Janekaaa is a blue collar poker players hero. Staying at the $100 level at primarily reg. speed, which he/she knows he/she can win at a 58% clip, Janekaaa is like a steady ship with obvious skill and stanima. Sure, most poker "fans" are more attracted to the ...

It's not easy, being right all the time!!!.........
I hope you were at least playing European Roulette with only 1 zero, as opposed to the 2 zero variant. Anyone dumb enough to play roulette with 0 and 00 (with a 5.26% hold) deserves to go broke, as it is very simple math to figure out you have no chance.

is my math correct on this call?
You better work on your math. He is calling his last 2811 to win 5361, which means his pot odds on the call is +190. So for him to break even on this call, he'll need to win 34.48% of the time, which is doubtful to happen.

Things are heating up on online poker in the USA! Congress might be taking the lead
As long as Reid is in the Senate, any Federal bill will be a nightmare, solely done to form a protectionist market to monopolize poker for a select few Nevada corporations. This means no PokerStars, high rake games run by substandard operators, and severe penalties for the rest of us who would choose to play somewhere else besides the "holy cabal". This bill would also prohibit all other forms of internet gambling, which is a direct violation of people's freedom. I hope some of you aren't so weasel like in that you complain about your freedoms being denied, and then turn around and celebrate a ...

pker stars back in the us ?
Why do you insist in saying NJ wouldn't hook up with international pools' Of course they will, that's the whole point. There is absolutely no legal reason why they wouldn't. American horse racing pools are fully integrated with money from many foreign countries, and so will poker. There is no federal law forbidding it, and there won't be a state law prohibiting it, so I don't know why you think that'

Tell the American Gaming Association to Stuff it!
PokerStars would easily be the leader of online poker in NJ, why do you think the Nevada cabal wants to keep them out' They know they can't compete with them, so they'd rather have their highly paid lobbying goons and US Congressman keep their monopoly in tact. Nevada is light years behind in the development of poker software, and their corporate business model depends on high margins and gouging customers, something they can't get away with in a free market. The AGA is desperate, as pretty soon, they will be irrelevant, along with all the other Nevada dinosaurs. I look forward to when 1/2 ...

Flopping quads twice in 4 hands
I'm only doing this once so I hope you mean flopping quads in any way, i.e., a flopped set with you having the case card in addition to the other way of you holding a pair and flopping the same pair. There are 2,598,960 five card hands possible in poker (any order). so JJJJ3h is the same as 3hJJJJ. Of these, 624 combinations produce quads, which is 4,164-1. The odds of getting quads in 4 hands are as follows : NONE - .999039961669 (apx 1042/1043) ONCE- .000959692564 (apx 1,042-1) TWICE- .000000345708 (apx 290 million -1) THREE- .000000000014 (apx 71 billion -1) FOUR - .0000000000000033 (apx ...

New Jersey signs online gaming bill into law!
You must have a brain the size of a walnut. Pay attention moron, I said I don't want to appear mean by pointing out the obvious that you're an imbecile, I never said you were being mean. And we're talking about the New Jersey bill, not Nevada, hence, all your pleonastic diatribe was completely baseless, because New Jersey specifically wants PokerStars to make Atlantic City their US headquarters. Most people know that, which makes your first post completely idiotic. We all know Nevada is the enemy when it comes to pokerstars, that's old news. You're way behind the times boy, and I'd say try ...

Does The Legalization/Regulation Of Poker Bode Well...
I don't think it will really make much of a difference either way. For reasons too long and complex to get into, I don't anticipate the US government going after the sovereign Mohawk nation of Canada with much vitriol. They might seize a bank account here or there, but the Mohawks know they'll lose a few of those a year, and I'm sure they run their business with that fact in mind.

New Jersey signs online gaming bill into law!
I'm not trying to be mean, but there's too many ways of getting information for you to be this ignorant on a topic you write paragraphs on. Raymond Lesniak, the NJ Senator who led the way on this bill specifically altered it to allow PokerStars in, and he even publicly stated that he "looked forward to having PokerStars, the world leader in online poker, make Atlantic City their US headquarters". This was followed by PStars anticipated purchase statement of buying an AC casino. While this is not just a bill for PokerStars, it certainly is welcoming them in, so please try to read a little ...

Article: Frank Fahrenkopf: New Federal Poker Bill Could be Introduced Soon
Not only is Fahrenkopf a pimp for Nevada corporations, trying desperately to stop PokerStars (who they cant beat in fair competition) from coming back to the US market, but he is laughable with his twisted fabrication of the US Constitution. Article 1, Section 10, in regards to congressional approval regarding state compacts has been visited by the courts for over a century (Virginia vs Tennessee 148US 503, 518 as just one example), and without boring everyone with 3 paragraphs of legal mumbo jumbo, let's just say that Fahrenkopf is a moron for even suggesting something so stupid in regards ...

Questionnaire on your understanding of Poker Legality in the US
If you want to discuss two parts of the UIGEA that are probably more important and rarely talked about, it would be as follows : 1. If you've done your homework, you'd realize that UIGEA was tacked on to a totally unrelated must pass (if there is such a thing)Port Security Bill in the middle of the night of the last day congress was in session. While tacking on legislation that nobody reads onto something completely unrelated is a sleazy practice, it is not currently illegal, and has been done before. What really stinks about the UIGEA however, is that the architect and driving force behind ...

Article: Chris Christie Conditionally Vetoes New Jersey Internet Gambling Bill
Good Lord. They are taxing the companies 15% on either their net or gross profits. This rate has nothing to do with the players deposits or the rake of the games. Pokerstars will use the rake amounts they feel would be necessary to run profitably and efficiently. I would guess their rake levels and rakeback would be similar to what they offer currently to most of the world. And just as they do now, a players money will be in an escrow account.

Weekend Action Plan: Tell FL Gov. Rick Scott to back poker!
Yes. All that is needed on a conditional veto is 50% approval of the Assembly and Senate. This is essentially the Governor endorsing the bill with some modifications. I've skimmed the changes, and the major things are an increased tax rate from 10% to 15%, a 10 year evaluation period (making it easier for NJ to scrap this if it wants after 10 years), more funding for gambling addiction, higher fees and personnel restrictions for state employees, and he deleted some sections which I have not cross referenced. I'm sure there are other things in there too, but it would take more time to get all ...

Nevada to Offer INTERstate Online Poker?
It really boils down to just a matter of law. With no federal passage of any bill (and any in the future unlikely), there just is no legal standing for the Federal government (unless they invoke interstate commerce which get a little complicated), so there would be no federal regulatory agency. Just like any liquor, tobacco, or firearm laws, it is up to each individual state, and they'll make up their own rules. Some states you can't buy liquor on Sunday, some you can buy 7 days a week/24 hours a day. Some states make it a felony to carry a gun in a public place, others allow you to carry a ...

Nevada to Offer INTERstate Online Poker?
No, there is no unified federal body involved, because there is no federal legislation or regulatory body involved here, this is state by state, and Lesniak has pretty much given Stars the keys to the city, and integrating international players will be easy. Why would you think bringing other countries and currencies is complicated' Theres nothing complicated at all about it. US horse racing mutual pools are co-mingled with betting from many countries all over europe. It's an easy thing to do. You need to understand your second paragraph makes no sense. There are NO U.S REGULATING AGENCIES ...

Nevada to Offer INTERstate Online Poker?
Once various states approve internet poker between states, there will be nothing to prevent them in joining international pools. It will be sold as international players joining American pools, but its all the same thing. There would be no Federal law prohibiting it, so that's the next step once they get interstate games going. Still a slow process, but it's moving in the right direction. Sad that everything has to be sold as tax revenue creators, instead of being sold as freedom and free markets with tax revenue benefits, but even that will change as every generation starts to think a ...

Article: Chris Christie Called "Clueless" About Internet Gambling Legislation
New Jersey has something called a conditional veto. When a Governor enacts a conditional veto, he has a specific item or two that he would like modified in the original bill, and then it gets sent back to the Assembly and Senate where it would then only need 50% approval, which they would easily obtain. Even if he vetos in the traditional manner, the veto would easily be overridden in the House, and a very good chance it would be overridden in the Senate. 8 republican senators voted YES on the original bill, and if all the Democrats that voted yes keep it that way, then all we would need is 3 ...

“Ask The Governor” Tonight At 7PM (1/22) With Chris Christie
If Christie has 2016 political ambitions, he needs to placate the christian conservative gang that he did not "endorse" gambling expansion (even though the darling candidates of "family value" christians never return donations from casino magnates like Adelson). However, he could just not do anything and let this become law OR, he might have an understanding that his veto would be overridden. Remember now, the bill has plenty of enough votes in the Assembly, and the Senate has 8 republican YES votes, of which only 3 are needed to hold to successfully override a veto (if every Democrat keeps ...

How many tourney tables should I play?
Curious if you have considered moving across the border, since it's so close to you. Is it a hassle, or just not something you want to do' You always seemed to love playing on Stars, so I'm surprised you haven't, being a stones throw away and all. Your life is none of my business, so not trying to be nosy, but strictly from a poker viability standpoint, as I am considering a move to either Costa Rica or Niagra Falls, Canada, and Niagra Falls seems like a nice option, since it's english speaking, and I'm only 5 hours away from there, but I hear it can be a real hassle to get (and keep) ...

2013 NBC Heads-Up Field Announced
I don't want to be Mr. Negative, but as a heads-up SNG player who would love to see a real HU tourney, this tourney is nothing more than a TV production to showcase known poker players. Hence, I could care less about it. You're talking about a 1 game turbo, which means there is no real skill in determining a winner. It would be like a 9-ball tournament having a 1 game match, instead of the tradition best of 17 matches. A monkey could beat the best HU player in the world 20% of the time in a turbo structured HU SNG, and everyone who plays knows it. Do we really care when a match winner is ...

Article: Chris Christie: I'm Concerned About a New Generation of Addicted Gamblers
He is obviously thinking about his presidential run in 2016, so he needs the anti-gambling "family", christian coalition gang to get through the primary season. However, he could simply not do anything and allow the bill to become law without appearing to endorse it. Christie also could enact something which is procedural law in New Jersey which is called the conditional veto. In a conditional veto, the governor vetoes the bill with recommendation for making some changes to the bill, which then can be passed with a simple majority of both the senate and the assembly. He might suggest a poker ...

Turning intrastate poker into interstate poker?
I thought it was kind of a funny jab, which your hybrid thoughts of narcissism and inaneness certainly deserved. And your dilusional view of self importance is only magnified by somehow thinking that if by chance there was a "hole" in my life, THAT would be the reason for a critique, and not another possibility, such as the reason your post was criticized with a dab of sarcasm was because it was ridiculous.
