Re:MiniFTOPS 10: Is anyone folding to this massive over bet? This seems so read dependant and cannot criticize a call here. If he is frustrated by you, this kinda screams a flush draw, but with and ace on the board wouldn't doubt if he had like 55 or 99 and overbet putting you on AK AQ. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Best way to play against the constant mini bettor? I was just playing this guy a hu sng and he would mini bet out every single time on every street with or without a hand. What is the best way to get value out of these players. I ended up winning in a very long match. I tend to play more aggressive against these players, but it's hard to get any range on their hands, cuz they mini with a monster or nothing. You smoth call them and let them catch, or raise them and they fold instantly, unless it's a time they have a monster. I ended up check raising alot and raising with nothing alot myself, but was just hard to get big pots, and i ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Peition to get rid of 20bb shortstackers on Full Tilt Agreed. Very hard to find a decent table anymore. just yesterday had a table with 2 other big stacks that were complete fish, so i stuck around to stack one of them, they both left after that and i was left with 8 people who all had 20bb's...lol...needless to say i was gone after that too. At least i had a couple good marks for a few hands anyway. getting few and far between nowadays on fulltilt. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:* Help me set up a good schedule*...kinda long....beware Thanks, I'm kinda embarrased after waking up and reading my post. I was a little drunk last night and it seemed like the greatest post ever at the time. I stiil want to get to the higher games, and was just trying to think of creative ways to do it. It just comes down to getting some balls and playing them. I have the br to at least take some shots at say the 50/50 and maybe a Sunday tourny every once in awhile. Anyway, sorry for the dumb thread, but thanks for reading. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:* Help me set up a good schedule*...kinda long....beware I agree, and not trying to do this forever, just thought it would be able to free up my mind when it comes to playing. I'm not a volume player to begin with and probably will only play about 4-6 tounies on my days off, so why not just play with won money. and as i said if i do have a losing week then i just won't play tournies for the week or just play real small stakes. Everybody turns into robots nowadays and if it's not perfect br then it must be bad. thats' what turned me around the first time, making it deep in a big tourney giving me the confidence to say ... Re:* Help me set up a good schedule*...kinda long....beware It is late, and i have had a few, but this seemed like a good idea. It's alot easier to play with money that is won, than meny that is not. Anyway if nobody can see what i mean is this plan, that's why i posted and will probably scratch the idea :( Posted in: Poker Discussion |

* Help me set up a good schedule*...kinda long....beware A little background.......... I've played hold'em forever but always considered myself a micro player no matter how much of a bankroll i have. I usually find myself playing the lowest stakes a site has. When i first started on Party, that meant playing $5-10 sng's and mostly 25nl as that was the lowest games there. Party was a cash cow for me and i ended up winning over 80k in 2005 alone (nothing compared to todays winners) due to a great run where I sat into a major, got a decent cash and then went on a run winniing a couple 40k guarantees and eventually buying into the $150+ ... SNG specialists (1 table) I started a heads-up thread awhile ago and got great response and even had a couple of the best hu players pm me on the subject which was invaluable. I hope to get some similar feedback to this. I have always had a great feel for single table tournies and just starting to get back to them on fulltilt. think i have a good grasp of bubble play without ever studying it. Now as i've stated in my HU thread, I am pretty much a nit and way overrolled for the stakes i play, but just want the confindence to change that as i have a 100k job and play poker for the fun. I play the micros ($2) right ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:This is a very interesting post...to say the least Wow. Can't believe this. My thought is OP is a douchebag for starting this, as i would appreciate getting anything but not expecting anything. LOL at the so vastly different oppinions on this. With all that being said, and i think $100 was a great jesture. I thought what i would do in the same situation and even though it was in jest and not taking seriously, I would ship the 25% as my word is my bond. but don't do it now as the guy expected it and doesn't deserver a dime Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Minor Rant - Know-It-All Chat Humilators this just happened today. playing cash, and a complete fish that i was just waiting to stack was getting berated and finally had enough and left with his stack Have to admit that I trash talk during HU sng's and berate people. At least they can't leave then, and it does effect their play sometimes to get them to make mistakes. Not proud of myself when i do it for the most part lol. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

How do some of you do the sick volume. 50 sng's at a time possible? Some of the volume put up is just sick. I have fun looking up stats on people and i come across the full tilt SNG (low) leader. He only started 6 days ago and has already played 2000 $14 sng's with 467 on the same day. looks like he had close to 50 going at the same time. how is this even possible and is it really poker at that point. I'm kinda old school and like to only play no more than 2-3 tables at a time at cash tables only. I only play 1 sng and HU at a time but still amazed how this is even possible. Re:Bankroll Building Re: Full Tilt Poker I think keeping your eye on the different promotions going on is a great way to build your bankroll and work on different parts of your game. This month had a pretty good one for micro/low limit players. just have to get 1 ftp point playing 2 cash tables at a time, play 25/30 days and get an extra $50 bones. i was playing mostly HU SNG's but decided to do the promotion. the first week kinda sucked to get back in the cash game groove and it really screwed up my hu sng play, but now i'm up a few hundred and have $50 extra to look forward to at the end of the month Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Please tell me I'm missing something...Janiney So I'm all proud of myself for going on a 10 game heads-up streak and decide to check out sharkscope to see what i need to hit the streak leaderboard and i come across a player named Janiney on pokerstars. there has got to be an explanation for his stats. anyone know of this player. He has won 325 out of 337 heads up matches between $20-$50 never has lost more than 3 in a row and has winning streaks of 65,34,33,,32 etc His ROI for $20, $30 and $50 are all around 80% near perfect. This has got to be the most amazing stats i have seen. how in the world do you win 65 in a row and have a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Heads up tourney specialists Thanks guys for all the wonderful advice. I came up with a plan. going to stick out $2 for the next week just to get on ss leaderboard..... Move up to $5 on 9/1 and play at that level for 1 month. should be able to get 3-600 games in for sure. If i'm over 20% ROI for the month, will move up at least 2 levels within my br....over 10% move up 1 level. and then in October repeat for a month at the next step. If everything goes right, i will be playing at my optimal br games within 2-3 months and who knows, within 9-12 playing with the big boys but let's get the next month done first. Re:Heads up tourney specialists thanks. I'm kind of a rare breed. Old school. I've been playing holdem well before the poker boom and have always played for the joy of playing and never really let money get involved. Me and good friend about once every couple of weeks will sit down heads-up and play all night long for no money at all. just for the bragging rights. In 2005 on party poker, I built my roll up to 100k hitting a few mtt's (20k, 40k and a few nice cashes in the 500k) but still never really played higher than .25/.50 nl cash games. i was smart enough to take all that money out as profit before they ... Re:Heads up tourney specialists Holy crap, that is very good. I haven't run very well the last week, just tonight started of great playing 3 (non U.S players....90% of them are so bad) then ran into a 5 game losing streak where everyone of the final big hands was a bad beat where i was in with at least a 70-95% advantage, and now on 3 game winning streak and probably done for the night I swear if i wasn't avoiding the mine of the donks, I would be at about 60% ROI for heads-up....lol Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Heads up tourney specialists Pretty sure i would lose my ass if i tried to play 4 tables at a time for heads-up. i get so involved in the game and adjust my style alot depending on the player i'm playing that i would completly lose that if i played 4 tables.. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Heads up tourney specialists It's kinda childish, but i have my sights on at least hitting the sharkscope leaderboard which should happen within 1-2 weeks when i get 500 hu holdem games in. I have played a handful of $5 games and it seems to be just as bad if not worse than the $2 games. $10 is where i see a pretty big difference as far as being harder to adjust to style of play. Re:Heads up tourney specialists That's what i was thinking but again small sample to pull from, but to me the more players the higher the variance, so heads-up would be low especially at the stage i'm at now. Win probably 30% of the games by doing almost nothing and some by actually doing nothing. I get about 1-2 players a week that actually give up and leave (not disconnected) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Heads up tourney specialists I know that i don't have a huge sample, but I compared my streak stats to a few of the best and it didn't seem like that much variance. the longest losing streak i've had is 7 games but have had somewhere around 8 times where i've had winning streaks of more than 7 games. i did a % comparison of how many times won2 lost2 won3 lost3 etc and my % was right there with the best. but with as much of a nit i am anyway 150 buy-ins would probably not be out of line....thanks Posted in: Poker Discussion |
