lol... thanks! i think i ironed out my problem. i adjusted and played much better today. i played super tight, only bluffin a couple times and got further than i thought i could but unfortunately didn't get the stack up enough... i always look at my stats and i did win 11 of the 14 hands i played but when the blinds got so big, i went all in with king/queen and lost to a pair of aces...

that's a nice thing to say...however, i did place 138th out of 10,000 today .. so isn't that better than 10%' if you don't believe my standings, look at the 2.5mm freeroll that was today at 4:00... ms_maze i thought this was suppose to be a constructive site... the forums a platform to ask questions... my placing consistently but not getting to the top and wanting to know how i can improve my game is a stupid question' personally, i think you're negative attitude doesn't belong here and my read on you is that you are probably one of those people who throws chips at the person who takes you ...

so very true! well, i'm off to try and qualify for the 2.5 on pokerstars. i think i'm gonna try a different approach and play super tight and avoid ANY big confrontations like all-ins til i make it to the final table.. if i get that far. cuz the way i look at it, i do get far and i do so by playing extra tight... i think i'm goona adjust and save it for the finals from now on. see if thta works. thanks all!

yes zapper.. i should've stated that initially.. my concern isn't with live games where i make it to the final table but when it gets down to the final 300, 200, 100 and such... do you take the chance or avoid playing big confrontations until YOU DO get to the final table... i actually play my best at final table.. it's the point of just getting there in these freerolls/qualifiers i have a problem with.

yes, thanks for understanding.. that is exactly my dilemna. its just sucks when you play 12 weeks and do so well to get such a BAD beat when it counts but i shall keep playing as i have been and as you are... the poker Gods have to even it out eventually :)

i pretty consistently make the top 10% of online tourneys and live games i make it to the final table 90% of time. here is my dilemna and this happens more online that live. i will be in the top 10-20% of the final 20 or so % and i sware to God, i do the same crap every single time and i don't know why!''' i will hold big slick or pocket rockets or kings and raise, someone calls all-in and i call and i loose to some crap hand! in fact, i just lost my stack twice to pocket kings.. i raised the first one just to see what would happen and sure enough an ace popped out and i lost that pot... ...

are there really rigged hands in online poker' lol, i know in tourney play here we've caught people text messaging their hands to each other, couples telling each other their cards, etc. which just amazes me cuz what are they goona do without their buddy at the finals if they make it that far' anyway, i guess i'm naive to the online thing... enlighten me please

i just had this problem in 2 major tournements. both of which i played excellent to get there, once i was there i didn't do so well. 1st was an online mil freeroll qualifier... i wasn't catching much and was at about a 6 blind stack. i was left of dealer button and raised 3 x's blind with ace/king suited.. everyone folded but one guy. on flop i had 2 pair = kings/queens. i went all-in and he called cathing a flush on the river.. he called me with 10/7 spades... my question: how could i have played that any better' 2nd was my state championship tourney, live with 55 players... 2nd hand of ...

i play in a leauge here in n.c. and last season, i placed first out of the 5 locations that run weekly for 12 weeks. i have to say that playing live is much different than playing online.. for me anyway because i tend to play the same people and you get to know their style.. who is tight vs who is loose, etc. but all in all, i find that live is a much tighter game whereas online, you have to play tight until the fish have all been thrown out lol... and i'm speaking of big tournies/freerolls, not cash sit and gos, real money games. in short, i think its best to play live because it teaches ...

personally, i think it is hypocritical of Congress to want to ban online gambling... especially since most probably invest in Wall Street which is a gambling casino in and of itself... and you can purchase stocks online with a credit card too... tisk tisk!
