when to push small pocket pairs in a 9 man SNG? Im wondering when its right to push a small pocket pair in a 9 man sng' Ive recently in the mid stages of an sng when I'm up against a small stack and I have a small pocket pair like 66, i push all in. I'm wondering if it's the right thing to do or not' Because I'm finding there always calling and there over cards are hitting more often than not, and I dont know if i'm just on a downswing or if im playing improperly. To give an example I actually had 66 in a recent hand and the button who was also a small stack made a standard 3bb raise which was half of his stack and I ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Busto Hand from 3R. Is this Bad ? Like alot of the guys have already pointed out, its clealy possible to make a case for going with this hand. You have the flush draw automatic 9 outs, and then ontop of that you can probly count your K and your Q for outs which will give you an additional 4 outs. So you got 13 outs that could help you win this pot. Thats clearly a ton of outs and therefore is defenetly a case for going for it, however we should look at the way you played the hand as a whole. At the start of this round you had 33 BB's in your stack, not overly massive but defenetly not struggling. So calling a raise here ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Anyone play SNG's at Ultimate Bet? ya I play on ub every now and then and the sng's are defenetly a ton softer than those on stars are. If you cant get to the final 3 then your doing something wrong, cuz its possible to get there everytime on UB. I play the 5$-20$ sng's there. you dont even really have to worry about proper bankroll management because you can make money all the time on there. The downside of ub which someone already pointed out is that the games dont fill up as quickly as they do on stars. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Ultimate Bet SNG Worst Bad Beat EVERR So its late stages of a tournament. I limp small blind with A2, only to have the big blind double the bb so I call. The flop comes A22, I check he bets 3/4 pot and I call, turn card comes 5, I check again he bets 3/4 of the pot again and I double his bet this time, and he calls. River card comes K, and I move all in, and he snap calls. My opponent is holding KK. PUKEEEE how does this happen! lol sickkk Posted in: Bad Beats |

bankroll management question. So right now im playing the 1.20 SNG's on pokerstars. I have roughly 110$, im trying to play so I always have 100 buy ins before I move up a level. My question to you is, once I get 100 buy ins for the 1.20 sng's should I move up to the 3.40 sng's right away' or should I continue to play the 1.20 sng's'' If i begin to play the 3.40 sng's when my roll reaches 120 I will only have 35 buy ins at the 3.40 sng level. So when should I move up' Your insights will be greatly appreciated. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Gotta love pocket pairs! When to push em, when to fold em' Whats peoples opinions on this' Lets put this in the context of SNG's but feel free to venture off into other areas. Just to get the discussion started, if you knew in a SNG a guy was raising AJ and you have 44 and the raise is significant enough that you contemplate going all in to pad your stack would you do it' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:shove or fold? I wanna say shuv here, but how many people were in this game to start with' A6 suited is still a weak hand here, but if you look at it in the sense that many of the remaining people have small stacks with the exception of helliott420 who still have to act that will probably fold unless they have a premium hand. You really are putting on the pressure here because your forcing everyone to make a huge call here, however if someone does have a premium hand than when they call you your stack is going to be crippled to about 1000 if you cant hit and win. if your fine with that then i say go for it, ... 22 vs KJ threeway So were down to threeway play in a 9 person sng on pokerstars and im in the big blind and the blinds are now at 100/200. I have 3000 chips the guy in the small blind has about 4000 chips, and the guy on the button obviously has the rest which is about 6000 i think. Anyway guy on the button folds so doesnt matter anyway, but the guy in the small blind raises up to 800 and I have 22 in my hand, I figure he's probly trying to steal but the size of his bet makes me cautious enough to put him on a decent hand. Either way i figure if I put it in here he might fold being that if he does have a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

k 10 suited vs AK unsuited heads up. Hey guys so I was just playing a 9 man SNG, and it came heads up between me and another guy. We both have around 6000-6500 chips each, with him having a little more than me. My opponent chooses to raise 3 times the BB heads up, which I think is way too much heads up but anyway this is what he does on a regular basis. I pushed all in on him once with A7 when he did this and i took the pot down. Now this time in particular time he had raised 3 times the BB, and the blinds are 100-200 this hand being about his 3rd maybe 4th time in a row doing this and he is winning my big blind uncontested ... small stakes SNG"S Im wondering if anyone can outline what hands I should be playing at different stages in a pokerstars 1.20$ or 3.4$ SNG. Im trying to build a bankroll, but Im having a hard time spotting when I should play hands and when I should fold, because I herd you should play the majority of your hands in the later stages of a sng, but when does the "later stages" start' And in what position should I be making the most of my moves in' And should I loosen up starting ranges later on' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:HOw do the top players do it? I know it seems like the numbers arent adding up right now, but believe me they will. The numbers you have calculated today are only a reflection of the short run. Over the LONG RUN, those numbers will even out, and depending on your skill may even be in your favor. Noone knows how long the long run is because its impossible to calculate. Your idea about running a spread sheet is good, because that way you will see how the trends actually work out overtime, instead of just your first impression of recent hands that didnt go your way. Bankroll Management Hey guys, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has built a bankroll starting at micro stakes. If there is, my question for you is how long did it take you to get past the 2/5 cent stakes if you played cash games, and at what point did you begin to play 5/10 cent blinds. My second question is, once you advanced from the micro stakes how quickly did your bankroll grow' Third Question, what did your bankroll start at and what is it currently now Im currently on the 2/5 cent levels right now, my bankroll started at 25$ and is now fluctuating between 95$-105$. Any tips on how I could ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
