Re(5): UB STEALING 2600 dollars from me! quite the title. unfortunately ub's customer service is terrible. i think it is ridiculous with all the money ub makes off of us and they cannot even post a telephone number. if i were a high stakes player this would bother me greatly. these sites depend greatly on trust and with all the turmoil lately it's getting more difficult to trust. i think we as consumers need to start making some things happen in this industry. if a site starts slacking, quit playing on it and let them know why. enough ppl do this and things change. they don't change if the money is still rolling in. yeah i don't ... Re(3): The perils of 4th level thinking... i think it's very incorrect to say he couldn't check a set with flush draw showing. it is PROBABLE that he doesn't have a set but there is definitely a chance not to mention the chances of other hands that beat you. and using your logic your raise is even more suspect which means he would be able to call you with less than a set. Re(4): First hand SNG folded KK...but was it wrong? i don't get it. AA is the best hand. period. if all 10 players went all in first hand i'm still calling--yeah i'm gambling but that's what we do. ICM may say otherwise but whatever it's a model not a formula. it's an sng guys not the WSOP. you fold enough and you are gonna wither away. the situations where it is profitable to fold AA and KK preflop are probably so rare you aren't gonna make money doing it unless you are right 100% of the time. one bad fold and you lose alot of money. also i don't think you ever KNOW what they have. it feels good to say you knew he had that but do you really ... Re(4): Pre-Paid Visa Cards (easiest way to fund your gambling addiction?) this would be great if you could withdraw back to the card. it's fairly easy to find methods of getting money on these sites. my main concern is getting the funds in my pocket without alot of hassle. anyone using these methods able to explain how the withdrawal procedure works' i think most of us agree that waiting for a mailed check isn't an acceptable withdrawal method. Re(2): About: "The Myth of the Bad Run, and an Embarrassing Story" i think the title makes sense b/c their is a "bad run myth," however, not all bad runs are myths. many ppl create their own bad swings and i've definitely seen how perception of the game many times alters outcome. Re(1): Why are more people not on UB ub has been my primary site for 3 years but i think we all have to agree that the site is going downhill. the HH thing is very frustrating to me. i sent an email the first time it happened and at first they say they are having difficulties with HH (2 days later) and right after that email another support person emailed me saying that it was how they were doing things now. not being consistent is also frustrating. i feel that if i'm giving a site a minimum of $200 a month they should pretty much be at my beck and call. maybe my expectations are too high but for the first 2 years i played at UB ... Re(3): BR BR BR i think $250 is fine. found a formula somewhere that takes your "comfortable" level and gives you 20 buyins and it increases numbers of buyins needed as you move up stakes. EX: my BR management system says i need $85 for $5 sngs, $250 for $10 sngs, $700 for 20s, $1300 for 30s. as you can see the higher u go up the more you adjust b/c of higher variance. Re(2): strange situation in Tunica they are live, however, if you are a drunk moron you may muck if you're first to show...lol. he mucked instead of flipping over 4 hi saying "there's no way i can win this." what would have happened however if i just threw my cards in the muck after he did. someone has to get the pot,,,seriously can they really MAKE me show' this ruling really bothered me. Re(3): strange situation in Tunica let's make sure we are clear. the other guy mucked and his hand was ruled dead. period. the situation was whether or not i had to show my cards to get the pot. i won the hand either way they just made me flip my cards. even tho the guy reached into the muck his hand was ruled dead [he had 3 or 4 hi, who cares]. what is the reasoning for this rule' also, i wouldn't have been asked to show if it weren't for the jerk sitting to the left of me [who wasn't even in the hand--he just thought i was bluffing and wanted to see it] Posted in: Poker Discussion |
