Year long contest for Sunday Storm?
Sounds like fun! Totally down for a contest like this! Hope it goes well for everyone, and maybe sometime in the year 2168 when they finally 'legalize' poker in america i'll join ya. IF, for some reason the stars all align, a bigfoot is captured and elvis sings at halftime at the superbowl this year, poker gets straightened out in the US in early 2012, would it be possible to join the contest late' what would the cutoff be' dunno if its been covered yet or not, and more than likely it will be a moot point...but i gots to have some hope.

if you left, would you come back?
thanks for the replies so far. its definitely interesting to hear what people are doing to make it through the US block out of online poker. its got to be hard to have to leave friends and family behind. good luck to all who have moved or are in the process of moving!! hopefully it works out for the best for ya! hmmm...one more thought...would you move back if online poker was limited to the US only and was state-by-state' guess i should have thrown question in with the original post.

if you left, would you come back?
been hearing more and more about players moving out of the US for online poker friendly countries, and it got me wondering, WHEN (not if) online poker comes back to the US, once you moved out, when would you move back' or would you move back at all' also wondering how long online poker would need to be cut off for you to consider moving out of the country. also, how long would online poker have to be cut off before you were forced to look at moving out of the country' Lastly, how many people think that this thread is retarded for the sole fact that a FREE person in the US needs to move OUT ...

Future of Poker in the US - Let's get some inspired thoughts
I WANT POKER BACK!!!! I WANT stars BACK!!! ITS BULLSHIT READING ABOUT IT HERE ON P'5s FROM THE F___ING SIDELINES!! I WANT MY FREEDOM BACK!!! ok...that's better now state by state poker here in the US would be a total drag. small player pool = smaller prize pools and smaller game selection, with fewer tourneys available. and this talk about large rake and smaller buy in tourneys for the "fun" player f'in scares me. sounds like online poker suicide before it even gets started. (god, i hope i am wrong!) that being said, i would still be first in line to sign up for whatever we can get to play ...

Can someone settle this stupid argument me and my friend had
home game, down to 2.5 BB's, and he has to think about shoving with ANY PP' he's the type of player you want to have as often as possible at your home games, so maybe you should just placate him and tell him he was right by folding and holding out with 5 hands to go...

David Vitter (R-LA) response on Internet Gambling
"Throughout my career in Congress, I have opposed loosening our current laws that limit online gambling. The anonymity of Internet gambling can provide a haven for criminals, and I am very concerned that there are currently no reliable mechanisms to prevent children from using their parents' credit card numbers to set up accounts at gambling websites. Rest assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind as this legislation is considered in the Senate" No reliable mechanisms to prevent children from setting up accounts' seriously. did he really say that' is he not aware of online stock ...

If the "bill" passes, then what?
You have a point with casino vs. poker. more people online gambling decide to try their luck at poker. and nothing sound better than someone saying they want to "try their luck" at the table lol so, casino sites should bring in more soft money to the tables There certainly are a number of big players that have the technical capability of running a poker site, and raised some names i hadn't considered. Your point about customer service definitely would have to be a strong point for them to focus on, given the events of BF and the fallout for...well, we all know who US players and who ...

If the "bill" passes, then what?
OBV, some info has changed since i originally made the post. Hopefully things keep moving in a positive direction. Definitely some interesting thoughts and ideas about what can be done to bring in some pokersites we are already familiar with, and who may be behind any of the new ones that may form. assuming the offshore sites are banned for at least some period of time, who WOULD be tops for running a strong poker site' and who really wants an online casino vs. strictly poker' for me, just poker please...

If the "bill" passes, then what?
Assuming that the bill passes and poker is "legal" (hahaha) to play again, where does that leave us' What size player pools would we be looking at' How many states will be a part of "intra-state poker"' What states will definitely not be participating' Who will be moving should their state not participate' and most importantly... How long will it take to get online poker back to the level it was before BF, if ever' Obv, no one has the exact answers...just tossing out some questions me and some friends have been debating, thought i would see what you all thought. Definitely miss playing ...

Pokerstars steppin' up....cheaters busted
here's the story, on 2/12 i was playing in a $5 omaha hi lo rebuy tourney. when it got to the final 2 tables, i noticed on the other table there were two players named "rjurado62" and "rjurado63" sitting next to each other, both from spain. keep in mind that at this point in the day i had been up for a solid 24+ hours and my brain felt like mush. but mush was definitely enough for the idiot light to go off and i asked the table if they thought anything strange was going on at the other table. most hadn't noticed, but as soon as i asked, the chat at the table blew up and we all watched the ...

Jam, call or fold?
depends. easy answer is fold'em. limp, weak raise--you repop 3x and get raised again 3x (roughly). he's saying he's got'em and you have no history to go from. that's the smart, simple logic anyway. me personally...i flat his raise, see the flop and either pop if an ace hits the board to rep it myself, or check raise him if the board doesn't hit high. basically, i play it like the fish i am...give him no respect for his raise, and apply as much pressure to him as possible. especially at the $11 level. early on and with no reads at the table, i'm more than likely putting as much heat on as ...

Poker Music Playlist
usually, when i'm grindin', i'm not particularly interested in listening to anything, although, i do pick up the sounds of bed springs squeaking, head boards banging, and on the rare occasion, a scream of 'OHHHHH MYYYYY GODDDDDDDD!!!' :P ok...to be serious. i like the thread! always lookin for new music to check out. usually, during a session i have the TV on some random channel for background noise and that's about all. but when the last hours of a long grind start to hit, and especially when a Final Table bubble finally breaks, that's when the tv goes off and the music goes on. KORN, Sic ...

Knowing your own skill level, beyond results
i'm a good player. i'm a good player because i say so and i don't need anyone else to tell me. so fuck figuring out if you are a good player or not based on some kind of matrix type thing. yeah, its good to see who is winning and losing money and rank players and all of that and that definitely gives you some idea, but a "bad" player can still make money and a "good" player can look like a fool and burn their bankroll on a bad run. i'm good because i'm good. do i make all the right moves' no. do i make mistakes' fuck yeah! ultimately, do i nkow what i am doing at the tables...is it ...

time to pony up??
just throwing this out to see what you all have to say. subject came up in a previous thread from a player looking for advice about the ABI they were playing and if they should try to get backed or not. From sources available, it looked strongly like the player was playing ABI above where their skill should be and had posted several $K in losses. I found it funny that a player with stats that appear to make them look weak would be asking if they should look into being backed for bigger buy-in tourneys. however, i personally am not backed, nor do i have any horses out there. it got me ...

100 left in 10k early antes... wwyd?
no way i'm folding there. don't think i would shove it in that position, but i would re-raise strong...bump that 7k raise he threw at you to somewhere around 19-22k and take that pot down right there. if he shoves back at you to put you all in, its a snap call (based on your position in the tourney, pot size, hole cards, knowledge of villan, etc...) if he flats your raise and allows a flop to come, i'm using my position and jamming not matter what cards hit. dunno if my advice is any good...but that's not what you were asking for. you wanted to know what i would do ;)
