Re(1): what's the right play here? Normally I value my AK very highly especially preflop but considering your big stack and the fact that you have no read at all a fold can't be bad here vs a UTG minraiser and a reraise. Do not like calling here considering the reraisers stack so for me its shove or fold and this would be one of the rare occasions I would fold my AKs preflop without feeling bad for a second. Any players who think folding here would be -EV' - bartvd Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): 1010 UTG second hand of tourney, please advise I think you played it fine. Do not see anything wrong here. As you stated yourself a blocker bet on the river could be a good idea but he probably isn't raising any hands you beat so at least this way you got of cheap. - bartvd Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Can we fold this? **Early in FTP Mulligan** Always a difficult decision but with just the small blind in the pot and two pair being unlikely I would put him on top pair and happily throw my chips in only to see my smile disappear when the cards are turned over. Despite the saying "never get all your chips in with 1 pair when you have chips to play with" I do no see a lot of players throwing your hand away here without a solid read on the villain. - bartvd Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): lots of outs did i play it wrong? Firstly I do not see myself raising in this position, the blinds are not worth stealing yet and I would like to see a flop and play it from there. Then when the BB raises you you should probably throw it away since this seems as the first hand of the tourney and you have no idea were you at. The flop is a beauty for your hand, making it a monster. But what is the point of your shove on the flop' He is not going to throw away an overpair here and he probably does shove a lower PP or an AxKc on this flop if you check to him or bet a little. I presume that you are willing to go all the way on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): should i be shoving this in the SB Always a difficult spot with a mediocre hand as AJ. Choices are definatly fold or shove. Personally I would fold without any reads and live another day. If he was raising a lot lately and the table was very active agressive (thus no opening for the occasional blind stealing) I would probably shove, but still folding would be an option. - bartvd Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Top pro's hand in FTP 50/50 He probably thought he was either in front or a small underdog (as was the case). There are a lot of pro poker players who like to gain a big stack early in the tourney or bust, especially with a large field, and are willing to risk a lot to gain that big stack. They know that with a big stack theyre chances to go deep improve drastically. Off course some other pro players value their tourney live a lot more and would not be ready to gamble it up with KQs here. Probably a matter of different playing styles. -bartvd Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): QQ early in SNG This would be a call in my book. Chances are slim he plays his AA/KK this way, if so though luck. Especially in a lower buy-in tourney his range includes hands like JJ/TT. Can't see calling his raise as an -EV play. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): ANNETTE OWNS She is been lucky whole tourney. Flopped straight with AJ vs AQ pre-flop all-in, anyway she is heading for a fine finish. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
