Re:How did you deposit on cake?? Or withdrawl? Not sure about the deposit, but my boyfriend requested a check withdrawal and he got a Bank of Montreal money order about a week later. It was sent via DHL, and needed a signature (which, fortunately, I was here for), so keep that in mind. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Memories of Your First Big Buy-In Tourney? I won a $6+.60 satellitte to the $200 guarantee on FTP a while back. I was out in about 40 minutes with an ill-advised pocket 5s OOP. :( I'd like to think I'm smarter about such things now. I haven't played a $200+15 tourney since, though. Re:Where can you get stats on players at your table.... I'm really liking how you can look at more specific results than just lifetime here (as opposed to Sharkscope). Some people start off pretty awful, but then learn, and OPR allows you to look at just the last 120 days of play vs. lifetime. You can also look at how they do in different scenarios (HU, STT, 2-5 table MTT, etc.). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Full Tilt Regulars Believe it or not, I find the donks are more willing to call if I do a min or pot bet than if I type in something that is around 1/2 or 2/3 or even 3/4ths the pot. It's like they figure that, if I'm taking the time to actually type in an amount, I must have a monster. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:avatars on FTP - which runs best? +1 Actually, I use the "racetrack" screen. I think my avatar is set to be the blonde chick, which evidently causes people to underestimate my play because it's a girl. <shrug> That's fine. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Best way to put money onto Full Tilt for Americans? If you use the All Access Visa gift card, make sure you register it online before trying to use it on FTP. Once you register it, give it about 2 hours, then it will work just fine. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): How Long do you think it would take to blind out of FTOPS# 19 Starting with 3K in chips, and with 12 minute intervals, I think you'll be fine to start an hour late. There have been plenty of donkaments that I've not participated in for the first hour, with only 1500 chips to start and 6 minute intervals, and I've had more than half my stack when I finally do play. In an FTOPS, I'd like to think there would be fewer than "normal" hands per hour, with fewer donks and more careful play. Could be wishful thinking on my part though. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Seriously Fulltilt?? Absolute has the "all-in chat disabled" in place. I find it kind of annoying. While it's tedious, I just individually put idiots on ignore. If you don't care about any observers, you could just turn off all observer chat. I have a feeling that's what most of the pros do. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): How do u avoid tilting in cash games? What are you tilting at' Are you frustrated because you have a strong hand, but someone outplays you with a slightly stronger one' Or are people playing any two cards or any sooooted crap and then lucking out against you' If it's the "being outplayed" scenario, try to sit back for a few hands and analyze what they did to lure you in. Watch other hands that they play (or review the hand history to see if they'd taken others they same way). Try to learn from your mistakes. If it's the "any two (suited) cards" scenario, is this usual for the person' Are they just bad-but-lucky' Try to avoid ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): sound issues on Full Tilt When the sound craps out on my Dell laptop (Inspiron 1200, running Windows XP) during FTP, iTunes and Trillian (an instant message program) also stop with the sounds. I actually have to reboot in order to get it to work again. I'm wondering if there's a driver conflict somewhere. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): THANK YOU FTPDOUG! I like the fact that time banks were added (though I haven't had to use mine yet). However, since the software "update" to put the time banks in was added, I have seen serious lag times in the program. I'm not sure if the lag is what is making the time to act seem shorter, or if the time to act is indeed shorter, but that's also been an issue. I've never seen so many "XXXXX has 15 seconds to act" warnings. I hope the lag issues can be ironed out, and frankly, I think that's more important than adding step SnGs. Re(1): What percentage of hold em is luck? Honestly, I think "luck" plays more of a factor at the lower buy-ins than the higher ones. Take, for instance, an FTP freeroll, where half the table goes all-in on the first hand, many of them with cards as bad as 27o. I've lost many an AA at a freeroll table first hand.... But when you play against people who actually play strategy, and not just any two cards.... when you play against people who actually think and consider what you might have instead of just what they have.... then you start to see less "luck" and more "strategy." Re(3): Ferguson's Full Tilt Article I don't think Graps was being contradictory. Yes, each player that is trying for a draw or a bluff or whatever will be (should be) unprofitable in the long run, but if Ferguson is playing against a table full of people like that, it's harder for him to win overall too. It's easier to win with AA heads up than it is against three or four people... many more bullets to dodge. I think that's what Graps was getting at. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Protecting a Bankroll . . . and a Friend. A MUST READ! People don't always stay the same, but sometimes they do need a little "tough love." If they are a true friend, they might be angry with you initially, but will eventually understand that you did the right thing by cutting them off and telling them the truth. If they never understand, then you haven't really lost anything but a parasite. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

If it's not auto-switching for you, make sure you have the task bar at the bottom of the screen on, so that you can easily switch between windows. Karen Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Most Annoying Thing Said Online It is annoying when people use the buy-in to justify poor play. Unfortunately, I don't think it can be helped. You look at the low-limit SNG as a way to build your bankroll, whereas "they" look at it as "I can afford to lose $6, so I will play any two cards" (or any two suited cards, or any ace, or insert your least favorite hand to lose to here). Advice' Considering some of the topics posted around here lately, my advice is to just play "silent" and turn chat off. Obviously, it's "safer" that way. Yell what you want to say at your computer screen, but refrain from typing it. It's less ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
